There was no other real road threat. Red just took a bad trade purely out of blind greed. It is an interesting part of the game though. This is why you’re not allowed to tell other people what you have in poker. Or give any indication about what you have. But it is a part of this game. I’d say at a low ranking it’s pretty dodgy. But at a high ranking, they should have known better

This was an interesting concept and would enjoy seeing more, but only if you were in the VC listening or they were communicating via chat. It was harder to watch as we were guessing on the deals. There is a lot going on that we are missing context of.

20 mins in, no devs bought. Either due to the high level or to the board makeup. You've got what it takes to commentate, no pauses yet never any filler and always engagement. Snappy video title too. It must be difficult to not identify with one position, as per usual in a game, but continuously put yourself in the shoes of every on of the four players. They seem to be working in 2 teams (black and purple, the brick port alliance, and gold and white, the city boys), which i always thought was the natural setup in a catan game. If you team up and the other two stay solitary, your team will win a lot more than 50% of the time, and then you can fight it out among teammates for the win, and get an individual win rate of about half that 'a lot more than 50%'. You start out by saying the brick is superabundant. For brick standards, I agree, but there's only one more pip of brick on the board than of wood. Many commentators seem to assess such boards as plentiful on brick, but i've never understood why they don't say the same of the wood in cases where it has as many pips as an abundant brick board, since wood and brick are two exact sides of the same coin. As purple, i'd've taken the 5612 point to the brick port.

I’m loving this would definitely love more but you gotta find a way into that voice chat and then you are able to deafen yourself anytime you want to commentate. I think the VC would be great

Im at minute 25 and still baffled by purple spots as 4th pick to settle all brick with no 3:1 or the brick 2:1. I think it would have been better to give up the 11 ore and go for 5/6/12 to secure brick port at least. Also , setling all best ore with no wheat and sheep feels brutal to just dump 3 ore on a 7 roll later. GG , at the end he finished last.

Good game! I think the most puzzling move is KellyC trading yellow to 9 points (and soon after the win) at 50:10. I'm curious what the voice chat behind that was.

currently watching g2, maybe you'll notice this even though you didn't listen to chat at first but i'll give you the engagement now while still watching. in game 2 that was a bot pick by red! you can see it, they were struggling with lag. (happened at around 45 mins in) otherwise it would have made 0 sense.

In 6th game im not sure why you think red should go 8-4-3 over 6-3-11. Sure sheep port, but he would just be porting for ore he could otherwise just directly produce?

You only need to click on the map to build things. Roads, settlements, citites. You dont need to press a button at the bottom to build anything :) (reference to the first game)

congrats on all the success and really enjoy the videos! Only one Q - I noticed you often road then dev on turns instead of popping dev first - why not do them in reverse? you might get YOP or RB that could dictate if you should still drop a road that turn or wait until next turn.

What’s the logic with 5 9 10? Obviously worked out but there’s no way you actually expected 8 4 to be open right?
