- Giant effigies of 10-headed demon king Ravana was burnt on the Red Fort lawns here on the occasion of Dussehra today, marking the triumph of good over evil, as the theme to defeat terrorism and recent surgical strikes by the Indian Army across LoC dominated the celebrations.

as a Sri Lankan sinhala Buddhist citizen my self as well as the majority sinhala Buddhist citizens are really respect and admire our first greatest king or emperor maha ravana .. he was a true warrior and true intellectual and great scholar too -and my personal opinion is Indians are still afraid of our great king ravana isn't it ha ha ha ravana didn't even touched queen seetha and gave due respect and care for her that's a one reason as Sri Lankans we still admire and respect as well as love our greatest Lankan emperor ravana and it's very sad that it's Non other than one of his own brother's named prince vibishana was the main culprit who betrayed his eldest brother king ravana and gave assistance to price Rama to defeat king ravana otherwise prince Rama would never ever able to defeat our Lankan greatest emperor ravana and his mighty army specially led by his eldest son prince indrajith ( alias meganadha ) as well as one of ravana s brother prince kumbakarna etc all were great warriors but betrayed by one of there own brother.so again I can clearly say that as Sri Lankans we still admire and respect our greatest Lankan emperor king maha ravana .. long live ravana history and civilisation etc.
