Sorry to interrupt but lokmanya tilak didn't started the Sarvaganik ganesh festival....It was Shreemant Bhausaheb rangari who started Sarvaganik ganesh festival and lokmanya tilak took inpiration from it when he visited pune and after this he did publicity of this in whole Maharashtra. 90% of the people don't even know this true history...Shreemant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal is first most Ganesh mandal in India who celebrated their 129th year this ganesh festival.Please search - "the first ganesh mandal in India". Lokamanya tilak never took name of Bhausaheb rangari when spreading awareness about ganpati festival so eventually people thought that Lokamanya Tilak started Ganesh festival but only few people know the true history.Please don't rely on some half knowledge random internet articles.

When I first came to Karnataka in 1992, ganesh festival was celebrated enthusiastically in mysuru and bengaluru... Now it's just a formality... Same is the case of famous mysuru dasara which has lost it's sheen... I'm afraid there seems to be a hidden agenda...
