      I’ve reached out to you several times on several different platforms all to no avail. I know your busy and can’t get across to helping every single person, but if you did have time, I wanted to ask , I’m having an Evap issue on my E46. I’m getting P0441 and very occasionally I get P1250. My question is , if I have to smoke test the Evap system and check in the rear, where do I introduce the smoke from? How do I close/open valve manually to allow smoke through? Instead of it just coming out the vent . And could this issue be the cause of low fuel mileage ?? Also wanted to ask ya about my key, my key starts the car but the buttons don’t work at all! I’ve tried to to code them to the car and nothing, I know the FZV antenna is what sends the signal for the key fob. What would you suggest I do to go about getting the key to sync? Or how should I check the antenna? Or is it GM5? Thanks in advance

    Hand held leaf blower works well for cleaning and drying if you use water.

    Great video for DIYers....I always clean ALL my BMW engine bays (as well as the Silverado) A clean engine seems to run cooler/better. However, mine cleaning only takes about 5 mins (LOL) I like Simple Green & garden hose, then a 5 min drive to evaporate the water. Has worked for 50+ years & at least 15 BMW's. Thanks for posting Jason & motivating others to "Clean it Up". Nothing worse than a dirty engine on a clean BMW. You can see this on any car dealer selling a used BMW or any make for that matter.

    Did you ever use additives for the engine, like engine flush, friction reduction like Motorkote, Ceratec, 505CRO ?

    • @jeffreyhinman1397
      @jeffreyhinman1397 2 роки тому

      If you use liquid moly moly gen oil it has ceratech in it and is recommended not to use ceratech with that oil type. Also, a good fuel system cleaner for these cars since it’s direct injection, is dijectron from liquid moly.

    • @michaelblacktree
      @michaelblacktree 2 роки тому

      I did an engine flush with DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide). It cleaned out a lot of crud. I've also seen people get good results with the Liqui Moly engine flush.

    • @lx4118
      @lx4118 2 роки тому

      505CRO should be next level stuff. Liquid Molly is very mild cleaner, does very little, if any

      @@50sKid yeah definitely check it out. Turns out you have to remove the oil filter housing. Or remove/loosen the ac compressor up. I ended up just loosening the intake manifold, pulling it up. and squeezing it out that way but it really wasn’t fun.

    I have an unrelated question...I saw your series on converting your e46 to a manual transmission from a few years ago, then watched a newer video about replacing an e46 steering angle sensor. That car had an automatic tranny (based on the lack of 2 pedals). Was that a different car, or did you convert back to a slushbox? Your videos have been very helpful in dealing with my 2003 330ci, but I feel sorry for you working in that postage stamp of a garage! I'm up near Sacramento and have a 4 car garage...still not big enough!

    • @hindflight
      @hindflight 2 роки тому +1

      I think he switched it back to automatic, but we can wait to see if he responds.. I live in LA like him and just did the oil pan gasket in a similar postage stamp garage! No fun!!!

    • @50sKid
      @50sKid  2 роки тому +2

      I did convert it back, yeah, because I got a job and had to sit in traffic every day so didn’t want a manual. But, I might convert it back to manual because I’m thinking about selling it soon. Make some room for the next project car

    • @paulkile9998
      @paulkile9998 2 роки тому

      @@50sKidThanks for your reply... you need to move out of LA! Both my BMWs (e46 330ci and e30 325iC) have manual trannies as does my 93 Toyota pickup. My wife's Mazda is the only slushbox in the fleet, but she would replace it in a heartbeat with a manual e39 530i if we found a good one. Sacramento traffic is bad at times but not LA horrific. I went to high school in the early 70s in Orange County and moving north for college at UCD was the best move I ever made.
