Was wondering if you or anybody who has watched this video has had the opportunity to compare the Task Force / Sengi to the new Ronin Shuto but amazingly enough as I was typing this post I got a call from Tu direct who informed me that the Shuto IS the exact same belt as their top tier belts only utilizing the standard Non-D-Ring Cobra buckle - same material and weaving, so same stiffness! Question answered, so for those of you who were wondering, now we know. Tu said he would be releasing some new videos in the near future going over the new Shuto so everyone is clear on the level of performance you can expect from that model. Apparently they have also done feedback/testing on the Shuto product overseas and its currently being used there with law enforcement and military and for those not in need of the D-Ring buckle this belt is the one to get. If anyone does get their hands on one anytime soon it would be nice to see a video review on this product. We are planning to do a review on this product once we get one in as well. BTW John...thanks for your Task Force review..this was one of the best no-nonsense and clear reviews we have seen on this Ronin belt and very much appreciated!
Great review, I need a new belt for my off duty qualifications, narrowed it to the Ronin taskforce, and the Blue Alpha molle dbl duty. How do you feel these match up? there basically identical belts. not worried about price difference. the Ronin tf blk multicam keeps pulling me back.
Great video, but you put a $30 taped holster on a $180 belt! It looks decent from farther away... Honestly very similar to my own setup, but I have two deep Esstac rifle / three Esstac pistol mag pouches. I attached the same dump pouch, but to the outside of my double rifle mag pouch, it doesn't make it that much thicker. That left room on the back for a blow out kit where your dump pouch is. I also run a Safariland leg strap between the UBL belt loop and the MLS attachment, like Tu Lam in the Ronin Tactics gunbelt video. I went with the MLS instead of QLS because I got a bunch of them cheap and never looked back. They work about the same and can attach directly to molle too. Finally, I custom wrapped my Safariland holsters with 330D Crye Multicam Cordura instead of multicam tape. I actually have that same holster wrapped in Cordura instead of tape. We'll see; your holster might outlast mine.
I see that your ESSTAC Kywi gap mag pouches fit well on the molle loops of the belt, but on their (ESSTAC) website they claim that the gapped mag pouches won't fit on molle. Were there any complications while mounting the gap pouches? Currently wanting to find out before I purchase.
Any idea how this compares to the VTAC Raze belt ( they look almost identical in dimensions and features, but I'm curious if there are any real differences).
I'm glad I saw these video because I was heading to buy HSGI belt but I'm used to this set up inner/outer setup. My only question is sizing, what's you waist size compared to the belt you got?
InkwellFoto so I wear a 31” or 32” waist pants depending on companies. I got a size medium senshi. It fits pretty good. I probably could have got away with a small, but I figure my waist won’t get smaller over time haha
John McBride thanks, I ended up purchasing this in multicam black & the esstac pouches. Any issues with the pouches on this belt? I purchased the WTFix as well as the belt loop just in case the pouches didn't hug the belt securely.
When you thread the pouches on with the Molle straps, are you able to pass it through the way Molle is designed to be attached? Where you go Molle, pouch molle, pouch? Hopefully that makes sense.
John McBride Thanks. I’m torn between getting the Esstac belt with the plastic belt loops and the Ronin TF... what made you choose the Ronin belt over the Esstac belt?
For me it was the ability to use MOLLE compatible gear and attaching it directly to the belt. That and a D ring on the buckle. Plus the Ronin belts are much stiffer (at least the Senshi and TF belts)
Scroto Saggins I’ve never seen one in person, but they do look pretty nice. One thing I wish the Ronin belt had was a padded inner belt. Which is what the Raptor has. I doubt the raptor is as stiff as the Ronin belt though
I think you want some play, I'd really say go for the medium. I got the same problem as you. You can always tighten the belt, you can't really stretch it, you know?
The mag pouches sit slightly above and below the belt. You weave it through like normal. The middle molle strap of the mag mates to the middle groove on the belt.
@@narutobroken Just mounted 1 TACO the standard way like you mentioned with the middle molle lined up with middle molle on the belt. No play up and down but do your pouches wiggle Left to right a tiny bit?
Thanks for the video! Was looking for a good review from someone who bought a Ronin belt. Very well done!
Perfect clean setup no nonsense. Thumbs up!
2much 4you thanks for watching!

TheGunGroup your welcome! Thanks for the informative post!
I wonder if it matters if I need to tighten it up so that the extra belt straps are covering the molle webbings? (similar in the video)
how do you get the holster on the belt? I cant get the buckle through the belt loops on the drop down system. i have the same rig as you ..... Thanks
Where did you buy your multi cam tape from? All I can find on amazon is multi cam cling wrap
grapplingtech77 I just checked, it's sold out everywhere. Hope the company didn't go out of business
@@narutobroken do you know the manufacturer?
How did you run the belt through the UBL slots. Just wondering, did you have to take the clips off?

I think Ronin has more duty use in the real world. I know some guys took their Ronins to the sandbox.

Short Round I really need to get the holster wrapped with some legit multi cam Cordera, but just haven't gotten around to it
I noticed some play in your mag pouches with the WTFix straps. Do your mag pouches slide up and down on your belt?
There is a tiny bit of play, but no they don't slide up and down when I run around.
Absolutely not the molle on the belt is super tight and if you weave your mag pouches in there is no movement whatsoever
That Esstac double pistol pouch, is that the "gap" version? Looks like it. Can you verify, please?
Great review
Artez Hardin yes it’s the gap version
@@narutobroken Thank you. I was worried about how it lined up on the molle on the ronin

Ronald Chavez no problems. Just a tight fit. I used the wtfIX straps so that gave it a little give.
Any idea how this compares to the VTAC Raze belt ( they look almost identical in dimensions and features, but I'm curious if there are any real differences).
The Raze belt looks sloppily sewn together with too much webbing hanging off. The RONIN has tight webbing in comparison.

InkwellFoto nope no issues so far. Just remember to weave the WTFix straps very tightly. I had to use needle nose pliers to get it snug.
John M just came back to this to tell you, your advice worked and everything is on perfect
InkwellFoto glad to hear it! It’s a little tricky to mount the pouches, but once you do it right they are solid as a rock
Great video

Do the WTFix straps secure the Esstac pouches to the belt pretty securely? If you pull out a mag, would it shift the pouch at all?
Scroto Saggins it's cinches it down pretty tight, There is a slight bit of play, but when you pull mag out you won't notice it

As far as sizing goes, the small runs up to 34 and the medium begins at 34. I’m a 34 waist. What would you reccomend?
I think you want some play, I'd really say go for the medium. I got the same problem as you. You can always tighten the belt, you can't really stretch it, you know?
@@00Cyclops00 I ended up ordering the medium
How do you slide the safariland belt loop to the belt? do you have to remove the buckle?
Yeah the male part of the buckle slides off
You could have showed more on the Inner Belt and exactly how it attaches.
Michael Napier Not much to it, it connects with female Velcro to the male Velcro on the outer belt.
Where did you get that multicam tape?
The company no longer makes it
NotNew rip
How did you mount the mag pouches having 3 molle straps versus the Ronin belt only having 2 rows?
The mag pouches sit slightly above and below the belt. You weave it through like normal. The middle molle strap of the mag mates to the middle groove on the belt.

For the holster? The buckle comes off and you can slide it right on
Where did you find the camo tape? Checked Amazon but no luck.
It was a pain to track down official licensed multicam tape. Look up Pro Tapes, that’s the brand.
John McBride thanks. I appreciate the reply.

You do realize the Senshi and Task Force are two different belts
1ofyouforme the Task force is a variant of the Senshi. Only difference is color.
Width of this belt
Looks to be about 1.75" width
