Thanks for the Tribute to Shoestring. Mark was one Cool Guy who touched the Lives of Hundreds of Thousands of Viewers around the World.🌎 R.I.P. Mark! 👍🙏
I'm very teary eyed tonite. I loved hobo. My dad was an original hobo for many years before joining the army air corps to fight in wwII. God rest Hobos soul
I'm an old Texas woman. And I've been across this country several times. My trips were on highways. He saw land that 98% of us will never see in our lifetime. While earth is a shade darker, heaven is radiating a new light. He has earned his place in our history books. R.I.P.
A lovely tribute with the horns making music that Shoestring loved. All coming forward, until the last moving away into the mist. Thank you very much, Woofmeter. I'm an 84 year old grandmother who discovered Shoestring over two years ago and have watched his videos feeling his excitement of adventure, freedom and understanding. I learned about the mechanics of railcars, schedules, rail yards, engineers, conductors, camping, cooking, hiding, setting-up and breaking down camp. He was a gentle soul moving about in his world and sharing it with us all over the globe. His genuine interests were authentic and solid, and he took the time to help us learn. RIP Shoestring Hobo! I'm so glad I knew you.
I'm glad you noticed that last train moving away. That was exactly what i wanted people to notice. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us.
GREAT video and thanks for sharing! I still cannot believe that he has left this life but spiritually, he will forever live on in our hearts. I LOVED it when he responded to a couple of my UA-cam replies to him years ago. I felt I knew him, even though we never met. NO other hobo like him in the USA; he was that unique! I learned a lot from him about trains AND life! May he rest in peace.......😢🙏
@@Woofmeter Thanks for your reply! I still find myself going on UA-cam and trying to find the latest "Shoestring" video. It still seems so unreal to see how his VERY adventurous life ended in that lake. I just hope that his videos will remain on UA-cam for us to enjoy for many years to come. I even read a YT post from a fan from New Zealand who also grieves his passing. Mark was not only so popular in the USA but also in the world! 😇🙏
A hobo lives, and a hobo dies. Didn't catch that train alone. He cries. A hobo lives, and a hobo dies . All alone, he lives . All along, he dies. THE HOBO SONG (C)2006

RIP Hobo Shoestring.. I'm probably one of the few... They have watches shoestrings videos. In this part of the world. I live in the Philippine Islands.
Great video of a Tribute to Mark! It's been a sad time here from Laurel,Delaware. I've been watching his videos for 5 years and enjoyed every minute of them. He's definitely the MATRIARCH of RAILROAD HOPPING! May God bless his family through this tough time and give them peace and comfort. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Having followed Shoestrings adventures for years, I will miss them. He had a respect for the trains he rode and the campsites he used by not leaving trash behind. He gave us a window view of train riding while revealing the dangers, in a way, to discourage us from riding. He respected the train crews and those he met on his adventures. Rest in piece Mark.
@@Woofmeter I never knew him or saw his videos on UA-cam, but I’m going to watch them all. Because I want to know who he was. So sorry we had to lose such a special person.👍🙏
RIP Shoestring.....he was one down to Earth guy who had lived and seen it all. His eyes and feet have seen more miles than most will their entire lifetime. Gone way too soon - I will miss his stories. Nice tribute video - think you captured what all are feeling.
This is a wonderful tribute to Mark Shoestring Nichols. I didn’t know him personally either. But like so many, he touched my life. May he rest in peace.
This is a wonderful tribute to Hobo Shoestring, a man for whom a perfect day meant a Cadillac grainer, warm weather, soft breezes, round train wheels, smooth rails, and no bulls to bug him! I bet he’s got all that up in heaven now! Ride on, Hobo Shoestring. Ride on. 🚂🕯️💔
Woofmeter thank you for honoring our friend Hobo Shoestring (Mark Nichols). His videos showed a unique perspective of the world that few people will ever see. Shoestring wanted very little material possessions, only the simple life of a Hobo. His only desire was to catch that next train and take us on that unique adventure. Shoestring we love you and we will dearly miss you and your perspective on life. Rest In Peace My Friend! 😢
you people elevate this loser who was a heavy drug user,meth,crack,speed--geezuz,one of the big reasons why our society is very messed up--no doubt before he turned the camera on he jacked himself up to get animated --a clown
