Everyone comments on his age. But if he was even 30 in 1988 making techno trax then he would be 67 today. Belgian techno, Acid, and New Beat were starting around then. I’m 53 and was hitting raves all over the US as a teen. Late Boomers and Early Gen-X’ers were crafting the music we like so much. Synth-pop artists from the late 1970’s and early 1980’s are now already mid to late 60’s. Hats off to this gentleman.

Not even. Just takes patience, which I guess is technically a skill. Genuinely YOU could make this with the right tech, the only difference between you and him is the familiarity of that tool and the familiarity of your own creative mind.
Daughter goes to music school. She started bringing tracks I mixed in the day. Everything from house to dnb. The looks I get from her classmates when they realize they're mine is hilarious. Set up decks and showed several of them in the school studio. Got a few hooked. Good times. Always have a laugh realizing we were the wild kids of the times and now we're get'n old. On the outside at least. No plans to ever change.

@@six7529Nah, there’s absolutely no reason to buy a vintage Roland 303 for thousands of dollars in 2025. He’s already got the gear to do whatever he likes. USE WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE!
I'm turning 44 this year and have wanted to try this myself my whole life, but as someone else here I am afraid of ridicule. I've felt this calling getting stronger and stronger the latest 3 years. It's not just techno, it's also rave. I'm sure I'll find my own niche eventually. I made a hardcore song out of just the sounds from the game Quake once that was pretty cool. But I lost it somehow.
At 49, I've literally just started. You only need a computer, and you can install Waveform for free. I'm already blown away by how much stuff there is to play around with now! Just do it and you will smile.
