If you’ve ever worked in a shop setting you find out quick why everyone has tools from the tool trucks. Warranty. I’ve snapped 3/8 snap on and Mac mechanisms but you know either that week or next someone is coming and is replacing it for free. It’s probably an okay tool for a hobbyist. You just can’t beat on it and expect the same return. Little pricey for hobbyists quality tbh.
@@rhomboyant8392 Interestingly enough, that's partially why so many racers have tools from brick and mortar stores. There is a Harbor Freight, Home Depot, or Lowes within a 30 minute drive of most road course tracks on the east coast of the US. A lot of teams will send someone out during lunch to go get their bent up pry bar or their broken ratchet swapped out. It doesn't hurt that these stores have been stocking better and better quality tools over the years either. We find ourselves doing fewer and fewer warranty returns every year.
Funny thing is where I work the older guys who actually do all the bigger jobs are using husky and gearwrench, hell i was surprised with the hypertough drill set that's gone throw hell and back. He said he only buys specialty tools form tool trucks. While you have others practically doing payments on a set of sockets that cost more then a used car that's in good condition. But in the end it's your money you do what ever you want with it.
this pretends that no other brand can offer comparable lifetime warranty service, which is patently untrue if you make an attempt to get out of your own little bubble. Tekton would get you products just as fast/faster on average straight through the mail. Anyone who lived near a physical store with a lifetime warranted brand can get their stuff back ASAP (Home Depot, HF, Lowe's, Ace, Napa, etc, etc, which most people will have nearby) I can go to my local family owned hardware store and swap wrenches/ratchets/whatever same day while I pick up shop supplies/hardware/whatever that I had to go pick up anyways. They do not make it at all difficult either, 0 holdup, just show them the logo of the broken tool they carry. No receipts required. Not saying the brands in question are just as good as tool trucks in terms of base quality. Just the myth that their warranty service is unmatched is mostly BS anymore and lots of people sure as shit can't wait up to 7-10 days to get their stuff back in reality..... Plus if you're so worried about uptime you're going to need to own redundant tools anyways. So lots of people will just buy mid-range brands like Tekton or Gearwrench as their backups.... Can't warranty lost tools either. So when you're losing a $70 u-joint or an $80 vise grip you're probably going to have a bit more of a shitfit. Get out of your shop environment and start doing mobile repair and you figure this reality out sooner rather than later.
The 3/8 & 1/4 extendable that HF sells is slightly different from what's in this set. It's a double sided head that is about the same size as the 3/8" ratchet in this one. I have one but don't use it because the head is so big that it gets caught on things in tight spaces.
I'm glad that you were able to compare it to a mid-tier tool like the Pittsburgh. If it's able to last that long and take that abuse, then I'll definitely pick up a set of the Chrisfix ratchets. Thank you! 😊
I was here because of MrSubaru but I also expected the tools to be rebranded from a UA-camr that makes a 6 figure salary. There's no way he would manufacture any of these tools because it would cost way more than what he could sell. Manufacturing for raw materials to process into these tools in a legit way would've made him go in tremendous amount of debt. So yes, I don't expect a UA-camr to actually sell stuff at high quality with a 6 figure, but rebranding them leaves a bad taste for my tongue.
I would recommend the HF version over Chris due to HF warranty and cheaper but the average joe wouldn’t know and I can’t blame them for not knowing tools But on the other hand I like Chris fix and I hope he gets his mula.

Everyone hating on Chris Fix, buy he's doing what everyone else is doing , trying to slap his name on something and make money . Mr. Subaru is just aiming for more cliques while this video has actual information for tradesman. Tools aren't made for automotive mechanics, there's many other tradesman who use tools that appreciate solid reviews
I mean it's not like he compared it to a hazet extendable ratchet that a mechanic could use and expect to reliably hold up. These are geared towards diy mechanics obviously, but I'd much rather trust harbor freight over this junk. Having brick and mortar for tools is big
You said you have put 300+ lbs/ft of torque through a ratchet. Is there a reason you wouldn’t just use a breaker bar? You know the tool intended for that exact operation?
Emergency assistance for someone at the track. Impact and breaker bar were in the packout at home. We needed to get someone's car fixed and back out quickly, and that's what I had on hand.
I don't see why everyone is making such a big deal of these. These are merch. Anyone who cares a lot about tools wouldn't consider buying branded merch for tools anyway. This is for your light tier home mechanic/chris fix fan. And they aren't even that bad. I use exclusively harbor freight tools lol.

When LinusTechTips sold his ratcheting screwdriver set, he was open and honest about the manufacturing companies that he was working with, the design times and testing they did (R&D). @@sethh8892 WOW didn’t know all that info. Who isn’t ruled by greed these days though. Honestly I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy anyone’s tools. I buy the cheapest best product I can at the time I need it.
That's a great idea for a video. I suppose a lot of it depends on what kind of cars you are going to work on. The basic tools required to work on your average Ford or Toyota are a little different from what you would need to start working on BMWs, for example.
They get a lot better with a little bit of work. I opened mine up, polished the gear teeth lightly, and regreased it with nyogel 767a. Really improved the feel of the Pittsburgh 1/2" extendable.
I mean come on, it's a $100 set...You can't expect Snap On kind of quality. The people bitching that it's a cheap set, I believe is the point. It's a cheap, decent ratchet. 🤷 I still support Chris.
The Walmart Hart brand has a similar design but with 90 teeth and flex head though. They're also cheaper even though you have to buy them separately all three
There is alot of people defending Chrisfix and a lot of people hating on him, I do believe it’s a cash grab, and these tools aren’t made for real technicians. Just like Pittsburgh ratchets aren’t really made for real techs either. I work on heavy Machinery mainly caterpillar equipment. I have a lot of harbor friends tools, but I also have a fair share of snap-on, mac, matco and cornwell tools. Nothing against people that like working on their own stuff but it feels good when you buy off the trucks. Don’t know how to explain it but you work hard to have nice things and we hold these tools in our hands every day. I’m not a fan boy of tool trucks and they might be over priced. But it’s the feeling of having these good tools. Someone that is a lube tech or a DIYer wouldn’t understand.
Lol no thanks. Save money elsewhere Edit. Let me clarify this by saying probably 90% of my tools are harbor freight. The other 10% is a mix of old crapsman tools and odd n end yard sale finds
Yeah and bozos like you probably have a $1000 phone and overpriced sneakers when you could buy ones for way less. What's your justification, they did you more dirty 😂
But not for the price when one could technically save $30 and get the same product down to the packaging that simply doesn't make you look like a goober. Not sorry, if I went to a buddies house and they had this tool or the ratcheting screwdriver from Lynis(however it's spelled), we would likely have a long conversation about pay8ng snap-on prices for cheap tools. And let's be honest, $67 for 3 ratchet wrenches in 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 is pretty cheap. It's box store prices and even then you might pay more and not get an insert that you could put other tools into. Ares is a far better tool brand and unless you are using the tool all day every day then the stuff like kobalt and CM works perfectly. And I can get a 90 tooth set that I've used and abused(used as a hammer) that feels the same as the day I got them broken in. I have a snap-on 3/8 flex head comfort grip that had made me enough money to get several other things off the fap truck. It was my go to tool as a mechanic because it had the length and I had the versatility in sockets and so 9n that I could get most my work done with it and if I needed a size outside it's scope I'd grab it. And I for the 1/4 matching ratchet for free with it so in reality it was less if you factor that in and that little guy has gone work as well but it doesn't show because it was usually lower torque and cleaner. Interiors and small work.
These are made in Taiwan. He should have gone to USA MADE and upped the price a bit. More people would buy if it was American made, even if it was a bit more expensive...
I can't believe ChrisFix is pawning off a tool that can be bought at harbor freight under the Pittsburgh brand as "premium quality". Seriously, why even offer it sale when a viewer can just go pick up the exact same thing in-store for less. If you don't have a harbor freight nearby I suppose you'd have to order it but you can order it from Harbor Freight. I'm not mad though, it happens to the best of youtuber's. They get the love of money and become sell outs.
I'm not sure if the Creator Stash uses a fixed fee structure or if it is different for each agreement. I would recommend reaching out to them directly for that info.
The quarter inch drive is a waste of money. I wouldn't buy the quarter inch drive extending ratchet. The extension part of the ratchet is just a tube that slides over the arm of the ratchet. If you work hard for your money It is best to be wise about how you spend your money. The HFT ratchet with the lifetime warranty works just fine for the beginners.
just looking at thumb nail. 100% I saw them at harbor freight...why would people buy from him when you can get it from local store and get warrantied quickly...cheaper price too i bet.. I honestly don't care for Cris Fix after he posted about a video he was gonna do and never did it.. nothing like a liar.. don't put a teaser in a video and say your gonna do it and then not do it...
Just like Apple branded crap, ChrisFix/youtuber branded stuff is usually overpriced and not great. Though I guess Apple stuff is high quality, but still overpriced. Gamers Nexus and LTT merch are actually worth the money. Sadly, ChrisFix's stuff is not.. but he's already made millions so I guess he wants a little bit more.
You compared these to modern Craftsman or Tekton. I haven't actually used these ratchets but just from what I see they aren't even close to Tekton ratchets which I do own. I myself would never buy an extendable ratchet, first ones I ever saw were at Harbor Freight and they weren't made by Ikon, it was their Pittsburgh brand and they were far less than these. From what I see that is a better match up to these. At least if the HF ratchet broke on me I could have a replacement in less than an hour. Not that I would ever buy one of their ratchets either. What do I know, I've only been turning wrenches fir a living for 40 plus years. If I need a longer ratchet I would go to my box and get one. If these float your boat by all means order multiple sets. Later
DIYers don't make money off their tools so they can't afford 4 different length ratchets nor are used nearly as much, so an extendable ratchet works great for their wallet and functionality ever if sacrificing some strength or whatever your reason is for not liking them
As in a lot of items that come from wish and alibaba, complete waste of materials and resources. So many better options at a great value. Idk why this keeps popping up in my feed. Its a RIP🗑
Thing is those are marginal quality rebranded tools. Chris fixes a hypocrite cuz he says he wouldn't sell us cheap rebranded tools well that's exactly what you're doing. And the thing is you answered your own question no you shouldn't recommend them You should recommend someone going to Harbor Freight paying less for the same product and having the ease of warranty at Harbor Freight not having to go through some website for Chris fixes rebrands
Do not buy these tools, the drive bits of the ratchets are very similar or rather they are exactly the same as powertorque tools, which are like cheap tools sold at oreillys. these tools easily break. Ive had a torque wrench by power torque and when i was about to use it, the whole drive bit just fell apart. It's cheap, dont bother wasting your money.
Got a set of 3 extendable ratchets for 40€ at Lidl, kinda of an eu smaller version of walmart, a store which basically sells everything, from food to tools. They are pretty nice, the 1/2 was 13€ and i use it to take lug nuts off my car, works pretty good for the price. Honestly this "chrisfix" set just looks like some kind of dropshipping shit...
Snap-on is crap tho. Worked in my country’s military. We bought american equipment, and with it came snap-on tools.. some of the crappiest tools I’ve ever used 😅
Snap On is an odd brand. Their sockets and combination wrenches are consistently solid. Their ratcheting hand tools are all head heavy and feel cheaper than they really are. Their pliers and diagonal cutters are either super nice or super frail, depending on what you pick up. The one constant is that everything in their trucks are expensive. If it wasn't for the convenience of the tool truck and the cool toys that they release on a regular basis, their competitors would have eaten them alive a long time ago.
@@MrSubaru1387 I understand brand loyalty, but I don't understand the brand rivalry. You just can’t beat on it and expect the same return. Little pricey for hobbyists quality tbh.
Agreed. If the Snap-on / Mac Tools / Cornwell truck made regular trips to the tracks we race at, we would have a packout full of their tools.
Pretty much all hand tools come with a lifetime warranty. Harbor Freight brands, Husky, Craftsman etc.
I have the 1/2" Harbor Freight extendable ratchet. Works well!
You're a very good speaker & this is a good video format. You should make more of these types of videos 😏
What’s sad is you can get all 3 at harbor freight
The 3/8 & 1/4 extendable that HF sells is slightly different from what's in this set. It's a double sided head that is about the same size as the 3/8" ratchet in this one. I have one but don't use it because the head is so big that it gets caught on things in tight spaces.
Anyone else immediately see the harbor freight extendable ratchets in their head as soon as he opened the box?
I'm glad that you were able to compare it to a mid-tier tool like the Pittsburgh. If it's able to last that long and take that abuse, then I'll definitely pick up a set of the Chrisfix ratchets. Thank you! 😊
🤡🤡🤡
I was here because of MrSubaru but I also expected the tools to be rebranded from a UA-camr that makes a 6 figure salary. There's no way he would manufacture any of these tools because it would cost way more than what he could sell. Manufacturing for raw materials to process into these tools in a legit way would've made him go in tremendous amount of debt. So yes, I don't expect a UA-camr to actually sell stuff at high quality with a 6 figure, but rebranding them leaves a bad taste for my tongue.
The Answer is NO when you can get all 3 off EBay minus the CHRIS FIX for £ 35
Lol I have that same Harbor Freight extendable ratchet & it's such a great tool, honestly use it every time I wrench.
I would recommend the HF version over Chris due to HF warranty and cheaper but the average joe wouldn’t know and I can’t blame them for not knowing tools But on the other hand I like Chris fix and I hope he gets his mula.
I always took had that harbor freight extendable ratchet in my truck tool kit and another in my kit to take to pick n pull. Never seen a 3/8 or 1/4 that pretty cool
HarborFreight extendable ratchets ftw
Why would you support Chris fix when he claimed it was not rebranded?
He blatantly lied.
He never said it wasn't rebranded. He said it's not a rebranded JUNKY tool.
@@pjaxy Nah he pretty much said this isn't a rebranded tool

People look for reasons to hate Mr. Beast. If youre successful you have haters and if those haters have a fan base then you can make more haters.
The problem with chrisfix is his advice has always been rubbish he made a video thats now been deleted years ago about the fact he knows very little about cars and just takes internet advice an turns it into video... dont forget his exhaust falling off lmao...
I remember a few years ago when doing stuff yourself was getting popular, my mechanic friend had a board at their work and theyd write down all the stuff they found on customers cars they knew were chrisfix stuff.
Theres much better stuff out there for advice.
I would be happy to support someone who was actually good at what they were showing...

You remind me of the lock picking lawyer… if he did automotive tool reviews!!!! Great stuff!!!
You made my day. Thank you!
Thank you for making a great review!
I guess this was aimed at the true DIY/Home mechanic, not a “Professional Technician”. However what hurt the most was when he said “This isn’t some junky rebranded tool set that some UA-camr’s tryna pedal to ya” when in fact that is 100% the case.
Chris fix is actually on UA-cam he's a UA-camr who makes how to videos on fixing cars trucks and SUVs
No really?
I think Chris would of been better off selling them cheaper “no mark up” They aren’t terrible and will do the job
I dont blame him. We all know he didn’t make the damn things himself. Obviously they’re whole sale and we’re just supporting him by buying these😂 y’all are trippin

The issue is he tried to make it sound like they weren't just rebranded generic tools. Not that he's trying to make money
Taiwan and china quality is very different. Noticed that when i bought my tools from tekton
Other than “it supports the creator.” Is there actually a good reason on why you should buy the more expensive ratchet.
I can see why people are upset about Chris Fix's cashing in and understand the sentiment. As for me though, for as much free information and tutorials he's given us, I say he's earned that right. JMO though. He's def. enriched me with knowledge and saved me a ton of money.
Earned the right to scam people? I don't know if anyone earns that right. Plus I'd imagine youtube pays him quite a bit of money for his videos, so he's not actually doing them for free

I've been a Chrisfix follower for many years, love his extensive video library on car repair. I didn't know he had his own line of tools. I'll have to check them out!
You obviously didn’t watch the video or know of the controversy over these tools. They are CHEAP knockoff brands they he pays nothing for and then wants $90-$100 for them. Save your money and buy something better
@@TheTheRanger1 Did you watch the video? They are marked up a bit, but a lot of his fans would be fine with paying that to support the work he does.
@@DonnyBlue15 Yes, they are rebrands with a significant mark up... AND, he LIED to all of his fans saying that they WERENT rebranded tools. What dont you get. He is a liar and a hack. If he said something like: "These tools come from the manufacturer (xyz) and they are made specially for me with my name on them as a limited edition..." it would have been fine. but the fact that he had the audacity to lie and say they were really his, is ridiculous. When LinusTechTips sold his ratcheting screwdriver set, he was open and honest about the manufacturing companies that he was working with, the design times and testing they did (R&D). Here's the bottom line, Chris just purchased a 2 plus million dollar compound in Florida "SO" you have to pay for it somehow. The hustle is real.
is there a video on what tools to buy if you wanna start working on your car?
That's a great idea for a video. I suppose a lot of it depends on what kind of cars you are going to work on. The basic tools required to work on your average Ford or Toyota are a little different from what you would need to start working on BMWs, for example.
Swear that's a Pittsburgh... just change the blue and black to light green and black.
As a non proud owner of all those Pittsburgh ratchets I'll say that they are mid grade at best. They're sturdy and they work, but they are not nice.
They get a lot better with a little bit of work. I opened mine up, polished the gear teeth lightly, and regreased it with nyogel 767a. Really improved the feel of the Pittsburgh 1/2" extendable.
@@StudioVRM thanks, I'll look into it for mine

Rebranding is not really the main problem. It's the lying and false advertising that I have issue with
The Walmart Hart brand has a similar design but with 90 teeth and flex head though. They're also cheaper even though you have to buy them separately all three
Harbor Freight!!!!
90 bucks? Damn that's way too much
It’s just a rebranded harbor freight
A lot of salt in the comments… maybe just don’t buy the ratchets.
$39.95 at Amazon
Lol no thanks. Save money elsewhere
Edit. Let me clarify this by saying probably 90% of my tools are harbor freight. The other 10% is a mix of old crapsman tools and odd n end yard sale finds
Define old craftsman because if it is old, it ain't crap lol
“They aren’t rebranded junk”…LOFL
Call Project Farm and get it over with!
You could buy them from him for $100 or you could buy it from the mega online chinese retailers for $22. 1/5th of the price..
Good lord, these Chris fix fanboys are trying SUPER hard to justify his actions 🤣 he is a snake 🐍 did yall dirty 😃
Interiors and small work.
i mean how much can you really change a ratchet
Princess auto lol rebrand
Looks an awful like the Pittsburgh brand ratchet set sold by harbor freight tools

Just like Apple branded crap, ChrisFix/youtuber branded stuff is usually overpriced and not great. Though I guess Apple stuff is high quality, but still overpriced. Gamers Nexus and LTT merch are actually worth the money. Sadly, ChrisFix's stuff is not.. but he's already made millions so I guess he wants a little bit more.

he really can't be taken seriously... he always jokes about stuff..
Later
DIYers don't make money off their tools so they can't afford 4 different length ratchets nor are used nearly as much, so an extendable ratchet works great for their wallet and functionality ever if sacrificing some strength or whatever your reason is for not liking them
Sorry but chrisfix lacked on this
As in a lot of items that come from wish and alibaba, complete waste of materials and resources.
