Few years back I was attacked by a Swiss farm dog Appenzeller in a forest near my home. Guess who saved me, it was my very best friend Balou a very big Pity. He was the sweetest dog ever, he had been attacked three times by the Golden Retriever and he never bit back . Unfortunately the last time he was attacked by the Golden Retriever he was at his third operation and died shortly afterwards 😢it was horrible for all in my neighbourhood. Will never forget how gentle and loving Balou was. He was so gentle with small children, tiny creatures and older people. It’s been one of the most heartbreaking experiences in my lifetime. My RIP now I’m crying.

I am so sorry for your loss ❤️. Why didn't anyone call in about the golden retriever and Swiss farm dog? I don't want to see any dog put down but if the golden retriever and/or the swiss farm dog were living with cruel "people" who are making them vicious, then why didn't the authorities re-home them, punish the owner/s and retrain the dogs?

My pittie has been attacked multiple times too. He wasn’t really hurt, but he’s dog aggressive now. I never take him anywhere without my giant boyfriend, because I’m terrified something like this will happen. My heart breaks for you, and I’m so sorry you lost your sweet pup 💔
I am so very sorry for your pain. What you experienced is more the rule with these breeds. I would unconditionally trust a Pitbull with my safety and my life and that of others.
For some reason, for me, something about dogs carrying toys around just hits me right in the heart. We need to take care of them all...
My pittie came with a ratty bed, but it was all she had from her former awful life. I bought her a really nice orthopedic bed and picked up the old one to put it in the trash. She grabbed it from me, very gently but firmly, and carried the entire bed around the house, bashing and banging into anything in the way of the bed, until she was ready to let go it of it and accept the new one. And now, as queen of the house, she substitutes her big food bowl as the carry-around object. It shows up in the study, the living room, the family room, bathrooms, you name it, it shows up. And she also carries groceries from the garage door to the kitchen, drops each item and goes back for the next one. Maybe these dogs are actually not pitties but retrievers? Hm. It's a thought.

I went to some botanical gardens and I saw a couple with a pitbull, I asked if i could say hi to their dog and they sounded suprised but excited and said yes. The dog was such a sweet angel, gave me kisses as soon as i bend down and she just loved that someone gave her attention!

My dad's Pibble was the sweetest dog I've ever known. I inherited her after he passed away, and now she has passed away too. I miss her every day. RIP Ladybug.

There are breed specific behaviors and some owners cant comprehend that .Pits were bred for specific tasks that can be lethal .Does that mean they all are hyper aggressive ? no .With a good owner some are amazing

Statistically, you are more likely to be bitten by a Golden Retriever than a Pitbull. Often, the Retriever attack is not reported because people do not want their dog taken in.

Are you sure you are not taking into account that there are more golden retriever owners than pitbull owners? Don't tarnish one breed to prop another. Dog bites because of agitation or fear the same as people lashes out when the level of fear and agitation rises beyond a point that they can think clearly.

I just say, "Do you want to pet my puppydog? He likes everybody." and they usually say yes. Plus now he has a collar with hearts on and I tell them one of my neighbors nicknamed him Love Junkie and then people forget he's a 70-lb Rednose Pit and just love on him. 🐾❤️

I love pitbull I have had pitbull for 15year and I would take nothing for them I still have 1 in my house and we take care of him and he loves us as much as we love him if you take care of them you could never have a better pet I am 73year old
Please save pitbulls! They are being put to sleep in droves in all kill shelters! So many of those wiggly hippos would make the most wonderful loving companions! If they wiggle and shake when they wag their tail, you know they are docile and loving! Please open your heart and save a pitbull today!

My daughters have putbulls. They are the biggest babbies. I live them. If I didn't have 4 dogs already, I'd definitely go to the shelter and get one. All my dogs are rescues.

The healing powers of our fur babies, they truly are a precious gift that deserves to be treasured.
I think names that express their sweet nature would help, rarher than tough sounding ones. Buttercup or Lovey actually fits their personality better.

My first pit was the runt, her name was Sissy and she was a sweetheart. I had her for 13 years. I've got one now I think it's a Heeler/Pit mix. She was abandoned with her litter mates in March. ❤ puppy love ❤️

What a sweet story, thanks for sharing this. Buster our male bully is the best, smartest, loyal and incredibly courageous, he fears nothing. He was born on Christmas morning 2022 and he is the very best gift my wife and I have ever had. He is gentle but is protective of us. He runs right into the middle of dust devils 😂 and tries diligently to chase away thunder and lightning storms. Pit Bulls are the most misrepresented dogs there are. They are beautiful creatures and would give their very life to protect their humans. No matter how long Buster lives it will not be long enough.... Please give these awesome dogs a fair chance, they are worth it.

I found my dog on Petfinders. They told me it was a lab mix, took her to a vet and she was a PitBull. She was the love of our family, had her for a 11 yrs and now our family only gets that precious breed. It’s how you train and love that makes a dog!

This is typical of the breed. They are very intune to people, emotionally. I could give dozens of examples. People forgot that they were used as children's nannies because they are so gentle and caring. The myths are downright ignorant, like the locking jaw, which is totally false.
Anyone heard of the movement to call them "PIBBLES "? So cute, just like they are.
Once again, pitbulls are not naturally vicious. They are naturally protective in a loyal, loving way.
Unfortunately, certain nefarious characters have trained (actually abused) the breed to make money in illegal operations such as dog fighting.
Pitbulls have only one "stigma" with me:
They're all sweeties.
I myself am a dog owner , I would go as far as saying that I don’t own my dogs , their family & I treat them as such , pit bulls are not one of my preferred dog breeds & not because of the stigma around them , just because I like other breeds . I have 2 Belgian Malinois & a golden retriever all boys , all the same age , I got all 3 on the same day , the 2 Malinois are brothers , my family has never talked to them like baby’s & they all understand very well & every morning when I wake up & go downstairs I greet them with a big smooch & a hug & they all definitely know I love them & every morning they expect it , if they don’t get it they,ll have a bad day & ignore me the whole day until they get it , there very well trained all of them went through obedience school very young with me hands on every day for around 5 months .
So beautiful, pit bulls are called ' nanny dogs ' because of their love and attention to people. Bad owners have made people afraid. Your beautiful fur baby is how they would all be if there were no bad dog owners. She is absolutely lovely. ❤
My sister has a little Pitty was the runt of the litter. She is exactly the same way needs cuddles, very affectionate, follows her everywhere and is very chill. Pitbulls are wonderful family dogs.
The male Staffordshire who shared his life with me adored children. He was as loyal a creature and gentle as has ever been. My female Pitbull is much the same, caring, affectionate, loyal. People are the bad ones, not the dogs.

I've had 2 Pitties. Both were EXTREME CUDDLE BUGS!! I still miss them. ANY dog breed can be vicious. It is all in how they are raised And sometimes the dog mimics the behavior of the human. THINK ABOUT THAT!

have beautiful characters. I believe that they were the original nanny dog looking after children in the 1800s

We adopted a Pitti girl who was used as a bait dog…..she was so afraid, we didn’t think she could bark. A whole year went by before she did. We were all shocked…lol She had a stuffed Lion that was her baby….always was with her….its not the breed, it’s the people who bring them up. I hate using the word owner….We were her family…..❤❤
Don’t shop Go ADOPT!! Please!! Too many are being euthanised because there are too many in the shelters. You’d be surprised what sort of breeds you will find at different shelters. The pitti breed have been mistreated, misunderstood. We shouldn’t judge these puppers cause they aren’t bad it’s the individuals who mistreated them to begin with. Years ago I was sitting on the curb of my street with other dogs and their humans. From out of nowhere, the pitbull in the group attacked me from behind. I was screaming as he put his paws on my shoulders. I fell backwards. He repeatedly stuck his tongue in my ear. There wasnt a space on my face/neck his tongue missed. I was laugh screaming and ran out of breath from laughing so hard. 😋

the pitbulls i've known are all incredibly gentle!! i'm pretty sure my husky mix has got to be part pittie. Your girl's head shape and eyes strongly remind me of my boy.
I foster dogs and im also a junk hauler so i come across a TON of plush animals. Giant ones like the bear are the best! Ive got bags of plushies waiting for my dogs.

Mother was 5ft tall did not speak English but she knew all the bad words in English 🤣😂 my younger brother 8th brought home a pit bull puppy my mother said NO because she my brother was going to high school and she would end up taking of him and she was right she eventually said yes and we named him Benny and he became my moms best friend 🐶❤️ she did everything for that dog he did the same for her 🐶❤️ people were afraid of him and I laughed and I would say yes he does look mean but so does my mother 🤣😂 and you like her ❤️😂 my parents lived in a small town and my mother did not believe in leashes so when she would go for a walk he was walking right next to her ❤️ he did not interact with my father he did not like pets much ! But for some reason Benny did not like UPS and one day I was home alone and I heard him barking so I went outside and he was next door by the ups truck the poor ups guy could not get out of the vehicle so I ran over there and I had Benny by his neck but he is a strong dog so I told the ups guy give me the package and I will put it in there porch do he did give the package and I put it on the porch and ups left and Benny came home with me when my parents came home I asked my mom why does Benny hate the ups guy so much and she I don’t know but when I yell at Benny to come he does so he does listen to my mom it’s a true friendship ❤️🐶
