How To Measure Doors, Hallways and Passageways for Furniture Delivery

Learn how to measure your doors, hallways, staircases and elevators to ensure your furniture will fit through each pathway. We review the measurements you need so you will know if the furniture you plan for your room's design can actually make it there.

It's important to gather the measurements of the doors and entries that your furniture will pass through on its way to the final destination. Find the height, width, and any diagonal dimensions of the passageways in your home.
For doors, make sure you're measuring from the inside of the door frame. Be aware of any entry clearances beyond doors or staircases, as well as any architectural details that may pose an issue.
