I don't think Ryan will kill his father. The kid is too kind to harm his dad. On contrary, I think Homelander will go Ivan the Terrible on his son. Right now, Homelander is suppressing his anger when it comes to Ryan, but he will snap at one point.
Going Ivan the Terrible on Ryan will cause Ryan to go apeshit and lose control… he has done it last time in Season 2 with Becca and Stormfront 😱

I don’t think Homelander is going to die. He’s going to be stripped of his powers, rendered into a normal human, and be forced to face the criminal justice system. That’s a fate worse than death to him, but to Hughie that would be justice served. And Hughie is supposed to be our point of view character.

Could be a good ending actually, leaves it open either they keep it that way and homelander faces the endless void of an ended show or they Bring back and finally kill him for good after he takes v again.
I bet the final battle will be like that scene in Dawn of The Seven where Stormfront asked Homelander to join him it will be Homelander asking Ryan to join him than The Boys will join Ryan in taking down Homelander.

What will probably happen is that they will use the virus, which will not kill Homelander because it is not perfected, but will leave him weakened enough for Butcher to eliminate him
The issue with Ryan is not that he is the weapon against his father, the problem is that he could take his place
Yeah if you read the comic and follow kripke on the interview you can see he's not using the same ending as the comics, hopefully it will be nice though.
I think everyone is missing the point. The idea of physically overpowering homelander is over. If homelander dies by being beat to death, that’ll make the show very repetitive and it would be a very shallow ending. I see butcher with his parasite tumor killing Homelander and then letting this parasite take him over, resulting in Bucther going Rambo against the world. Much like the comics.
I think Homelander might kill Butcher and that'll be what makes Ryan kill Homelander.

To be fair you can have Ryan simply stop Homelander,take him down and then Butcher finishes him.
Kinda like how good Superman stopped Regime Superman without killing him in the end of Injustice 1 or like how the clone defeated Homelander and then Butcher finished off the weakened clone.

“Natural” is the key word, homelander is a test-tube baby made by scientists splicing DNA.
In the Comics Homelander is killed by his clone, the clone barely survived and Butcher finishes off the clone.
Also Ryan didn't exist in the Comics
In the series the Clone doesn't exist.
So I'm thinking that Ryan kills Homelander , but is severely brain damaged and comes back , just like Hughie's Father, and Butcher has to put him down with the virus.
Butcher then goes on a plot to kill all supers with the virus and Hughie stops him.
The main character isn't Butcher , it's Hughie.

I think Homelander gets his powers removed from him in the end and he will be just regular human, which he hates and has to live rest of his life as a normal human and being hated by everyone. That would be great end for this villain.

. I know that Homelander is sick of " yes men" who are afraid of him. You can see it in season 4. Homelander seems to also have a thing about those who aren't afraid of him. Like Butcher. He's had numerous opportunities to kill him and instead will sit and have a conversation with him. Sage disagrees and he leaves her alone. He's threatened her and she didn't care. Edgar was left alone despite putting him down regularly. He even let Barbara live in episode 4. Ryan's still a kid. Homelander may be disappointed in him lying but he's a kid and believes he can " fix" him to be like him. Yes he's jealous on 1 hand but he's conflicted because its his kid and he thinks he's so wonderful because he created the 1st natural born super hero. He doesn't like being lied to but kids lie and Homelander is a BIG liar himself. If he gets found out,especially about how Ryan was produced there's a major problem heading his way. Ryan cares about ppl. Homelander was isolated and raised in a lab. Ryan wasn't. He had ppl. Ryan might be stronger. Possibly. Dont underestimate the possibility of Ryan destroying Homelander. Caring about ppl or not eventually he's going to snap or have to defend someone he cares about or himself. Could end up being a battle like the show Invincible. Ryan might have to save everyone from his father's evil agenda.

Homelander craves control & the only power he has over humans is the threat of death. He doesn't have that with Ryan. Homelander's ego might not allow Ryan to get to adulthood & potentially become stronger than him. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to kill Ryan before that happens. He's killed people he's cared about before, so I think it's just a matter of time before that happens
I don't think he has even considered that Ryan will get stronger than him.
He even said he would create a kid twice as strong as Ryan.

The show has been excellent at staying a step ahead and not being predictable. I do not want to see Ryan kill Homelander or for Butcher to kill him or beat him in battle. Im sure the ending for Homelander will certainly have Butcher front and center but if Butcher does kill him then he should die also. Then again they wouldnt be able to make Butcher the final big bad guy if they wanted to go that route. I would rather see A -train go against Homelander and sacrifice himself. I also predicted that Ryan would die but i dont know.
The show is very predictable... what are you talking about? Huey slipped his dad V, his mom was the same hallucination that butcher gets when he sees becky... sage and atrain will switch sides because theyre poc's so they cant actually be evil... (kinda funny how atrains redemption is marked by having a literal change of heart... a nice _white_ heart... its so gross. Show used to be kinda funny shock humor that shat on both sides of the aisle, after season 2 its purely a propaganda piece, an orwellian 2 minutes hate for the progs to get their rocks off while watching as their political "opponents" are completely caricatured as actual satanic deviants/degenerates.
When subverting expectations becomes your main schtick, it becomes extremely easy to know what is coming next...

My theory is that Ryan will die. Ryan is the only supe keeping Butcher sane from commiting his genocide act. He will be the trigger to Ryan's insanity which will lead towards the final season.

The recent reveal that the "new" Black Noir can fly makes it glaringly obvious that we are headed for an ending to the series similar to the comics. At least, that's my opinion. And to be honest I won't be let down however it ends. This show has been incredible and I have zero complaints.

Well seeing that the tv adaptation of the boys completely changed Black Niors arc from the comics with him being the man that actually took Homelander down in the Amazon series it has to be Ryan or Even Soldier boy but I’m leaning more towards Ryan.

Instead it would be a real twist if Homelander really just snaps at some point, killing Ryan (not fake killing, actually ending the character's run in the show.)
(it would not be the first time he kills a kid, but for the majority of the audience it would hit harder then just a background character being killed who happens to be a child.)

The writers have confirmed in interview that when enraged,Ryans heat vision is FAR more powerful than that of his father.
And that was before Season 4.
Physically he isnt there yet though but he still survived a blow that was intended to kill him by Soldier Boy,and was only knocked out temporarily.
And now he is stronger and more developed.
If there is a decent time skip in Season 5 then Ryan can potentially even win physically if Butcher teaches him some fighting skills.

You know, I had this thought as season 4 Episode 1-3 came out. In the comic I believe it was the Black Noir Homelander clone that kills Homelander. But in this series, I think it will be Ryan. Either way Homelander will eventaully die and I think Ryan doing it seems poetic. The one thing he created is the thing that ends him, just like those who created him were all killed by him.

It would be lame if Ryan becomes a good superhero or copy of Homelander. The most realistic thing to do is for Ryan to just want to leave. He’d probably just shut down due to all the trauma he’s suffered and would just want to live a normal life in isolation. Possibly finding a way to become powerless. Maybe he would help defeat Homelander before doing that. But him being pure good guy or Homelander 2.0 are the most predictable and boring options.

How is he a secondary character? His existence has been vital to the end of most Seasons

@@newhybrid101 What I meant is that in The Boys, most supes are injected with Compound V shortly after birth because it's safer and allows for a higher dose, making them stronger. So, if Ryan had received the same amount of Compound V as a baby, he would be significantly more powerful than he is naturally.
