I find it funny that teams are too desperate to have followed the lead guys like Brady taking less than the league makes them worth, in order to build a better roster! Winning championships will get a player recognition, endorsements etc. And how can a Justin Herbert or Josh Allen think they deserve more than a Brady or Mahomes?! That puts pressure on the player from the fanbase for them to "do the right thing", and exonerates a franchise to some extent if the player leaves! It blows my mind how mismanaged alot of these organizations are! Fans need to understand that the owners of alot of these teams don't necessarily care about winning and the way they operate is to help their personal agendas succeed more than have their best chance to win games!

17:18 The fact that teams overpay for QBs that aren’t worth the money it isn’t a sign of some darkness in the league; it’s a sign of stupid team management combined with QBs who are already millionaires being unwilling to take team-friendly deals to help them win. For instance. Daniel Jones contract would be considered robbery if the team hadn’t given it freely.

“Team Friendly” deals really just mean owner friendly deals at the end of the day. The salary cap and franchise tag have absolutely nothing to do with making the league “more fair” or “competitive”. It is purely a way the owner’s have colluded with each other to artificially minimize the cost of labor. Look at the massage contracts in baseball. The NFL is much more popular than the mlb. Imagine what these stars would be getting paid w/o a salary cap? That’s why the owners take it so serious

In the "real" world how often are you at risk of serious life changing injury? Like injury where you cannot perform your job anymore? Also, in the video they stated the average career is 3 years. Most players that make it to the league' dont make it to 3. That's a far cry different and stressful than the "real" world. Would it be labeled as jealousy for people who has a problem with players salaries? If so, it makes you having a problem stupid. You should want these players to have a bigger piece of the profits the NFL and the Owners are receiving considering what has been stated. Also, maybe we should push for a bigger piece of the pie from our "real" world jobs instead of instilling hatred in your hearts for those that are, can and should be pushing for a bigger piece of the pie. What the hell is wrong with people the hating people in the same position as you but make more money is just ignorant and evil. Use that energy towards the people signing the checks idiot!!! 😂

Hard to feel bad for the players. The fan his tag is part of the CBA. The players could refuse to have it be a thing. But they were more concerned with limiting how many times they had to practice in pads and how teams couldn’t force them to attend OTA’s. If they really wanted to get rid of the tags, they could give up something else. It’s all give and take.

I've always preferred a performance based pay scale. Players get a base salary and can add to it based on their performance. This would save teams from overpaying for free agents. It would also reward overachievers who outplay their contracts. Injury clauses could be added to compensate those whose performance was no fault of their own. Was Patrick Mahomes worth 50 mil last year? Absolutely. Russell Wilson? Not so much. Of course the NFLPA would never agree to it, as there would be little or no job security but it would force teams to pay players what they're worth.

You should have had a couple of pictures of Favre in a Jets uniform, he did play around 8 or so regular season games with them before he got injured. Also, the players need to prioritize restricting the franchise tag to only 1 per player, occasionally a team will tag a player twice in a row to avoid giving a star player a huge, long term contract. The players may also need to look at restricting the owners to only having one option between the team option year or the franchise tag so top performing players can't hit a big payday for free agency, especially running backs.

Am I the only one finding the narration too hushed and monotone? The editing is dramatic as hell, but the tone of narration doesn't match and the pacing feels off.
Otherwise, this is well put together. Just a little tough to digest over 20+ min.

You would not have players or a league without the owners and people who run it.

So what were the details of Redskins & Cowboys salary cap violations? It was just restating that there were violations & the teams were charged against their caps without saying anything more than a word salad.

I get why people hate on basketball players and baseball players over money squabbles but the nfl players don’t deserve it. Only a fraction of the players even get to be wealthy while the rest are pitted against each other in the squid/hunger games, they have the highest risk of injury, worst post career benefits and despite being independent contractors don’t even have a choice on where they work without their employers permission to leave.

That’s why the NFL is better than the MLB and NBA look at the dodgers now and the warriors dynasty not even fun to watch players dictate the outcome just by making super teams

The NFL has to have rules otherwise the players would run amok. Yes they put their health on the line but let’s not pretend they don’t get paid very well and they play by choice. The real losers here are the fans

If people didn't care nobody would get paid. Unfortunately it's not about effort. Lax players are athletic and try just as hard as football players. Nobody care so they make less money. Safties, LBs and corners don't get paid much. Most linemen also.

I think rbs should be eligible for the nfl draft out of high school. Shelf life is too short and by the time they get their first contract they are mid 20s and already have a shit load of yards on them and likely not going to get any better, faster, stronger healthier or younger.
