At least I hope they fix their freaking distribution problem I wish they would stop trying to blame the stores for it cuz it's clearly not the stores problem
The last 14 months have been rough. I lost my best friend to cancer, lost my mom to heart attack, and my wife ran off with another man and divorced me. I’ve been out of the game.don’t feel sorry for me. I’m a man of faith. My life is good. Bought my own house. And life is peaceful. But I sold 3/4 of my collection. But this list is very accurate. I agree. I don’t have all these figures but watching reviews, I can’t disagree. Great list. Keep up the good vids Dennis!
It's been a...challenging year in many, many ways. I feel it deep. That said, you also have to find your victories and count your blessings. By the by, pretty much all my summer reviews were animated. Figured you'd appreciate that.
I still don't understand the hate on the inarticulate target master guns Hasbro has been offering with some deluxe figures recently. They could just give us a "gun" with no personality or uniqueness, but instead they give us fun little figures, all while staying in the deluxe class budget. I think they are fun little bonuses.
Because back then all the way up to a decade ago, they put a little bit more effort into them. Now they just slap something together and some people don't care because they must consume product
They could give us actual articulated proper targetmasters. What they are giving is a slap in the face. You SHOULD be insulted, especially considering the Siege molds exist. Zero R and D dollars needed. Even they lack knees and elbows, but better than the nothing happening trash they are pawning off as targetmasters. Fans should really be demanding much more for these prices and definitely deserve better.
I agree that I'd love for them to have articulation. But how do you manage that at the deluxe price point? Not many ppl are going to buy a "Tip Top" or "Sunbeam" at the battlemaster price point to "complete" their characters besides hard core fans. A parent sees "3 characters in 1 box" and likes that for their kid. What elements of Spinister would you need to cut(paint, waist articulation, ankle tilts) to allow the budget to include articulated versions of Singe and Hairsplitter? Does anyone besides a dedicated fan even know they go with him? At least we are getting some representation of them, which is my point.
I think the reason they paired “Cleansweep” and “Ozone” together is unrelated to Transformers. Those were the names of two of G.I. Joe’s” Eco-Warriors” which was their 90s era “save the environment” line, which sort of vaguely ties into Windsweeper’s characterization.
9:21 Aussie here , I LOVE Tasmania Kid , I understand he's pretty show accurate colour wise .......... my gripe ? Why isn't the Tasmanian Devil black and white ?
I don't hate him and glad you have him, but yhe hands are odd and the transformation can be a tad gappy with limited articulation. Someone had to be on the list, he happened to fall here by fate lol.
So? Either get the license to do it right or don't do it at all. Leave it to Hasbro to cheap out and half-ass it. So...worst it is then, right? Yeah? We're good now, I reckon?
Yeah I tossed Windsweeper's Targetmasters in a drawer once I got the Nonnef upgrade kit, I don't mind the one-step Targetmasters all that much on other characters since they're generally in blaster mode anyway but when all they did to differentiate Windsweeper from Needlenose is change the head and colors, it just comes off as super lazy, would honestly have preferred to just get regular blasters that looked like his G1 weapons Happy New Year~
I detest that we are 40 years on and these are literally no better when we have molds already they could have used. Good call if there was an upgrade kit. Never heard of one but Nonnef does great work.
@@DennisMoultonAKAGotBot Yeah it includes a new chest piece that plugs in and looks closer to his G1 design along with a couple arm-mounted blasters that can flip out (though you have to move them to the wings for jet mode), 10 bucks here, I figured that's worth it And yeah, I could maybe see an argument on not using the Siege Battlemasters if Windsweeper was released as a regular Deluxe (ARE Battlemasters heavier than the Targetmasters? They have a higher parts count of course but idk about weight) but he was in a special two-pack, no excuse to cheap out
@franzise3605 They are bigger and higher parts but zero development dollars needed. That's the trade off. As for the kit, doesn't meet the "minimum order" to ship here. Sounds like a great set though.
Other than steeljaw, I didn't have one figure on the list. I guess, money well saved. Got to save up for the gen select, Trypticon anyway. I'm going to be asleep but for y'all partiers, be careful out there on New Year's
Trypticon is a hell of a titan. I am wondering if they are reissuing all these titans all at once too fast? I'm glad I already have them all but, man, if I did not, having to get Fort Max, Scorponok, Omega and now Trypticon all in one year would be painful.
As someone who saw Studio Series Arcee out of the corner of my about a year ago and couldn't resist and then couldn't resist more and who has a few of these 'worst' I feel I got into Transformers again just at the right time .......... if I'm honest my main gripe this year was missing out on Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime I didn't realise he'd be so hard to get . Like im not even upset about Steeljaw .......... at least I was able to get him
Typical Hasbro - using Windsweeper's Target Masters as a way of securing trademarks for "Ozone" and "Clean Sweep", 2 GI Joe characters who both started life in the "Eco Warriors" line of 1991. Probably another reason why they were included rather than creating new, proper weapons.
I like chase, I'm eager for Heatwave. Nucleous was amazing, my copy anyway. Steeljaw fits in blaster, but only in one direction, that was a bit disapointing. Ravage do be pretty bad, more a dog than a feline, which I don't like. No clue who Ozone is...looks bad. Great list, happy new year!
I too like Chase but his shoulders have zero friction. Very looking forward to Heatwave. You are the only person who I have heard say Steeljaw fits nicely. Did not look that way in your review though. Maybe the direction matters. I dunno. He's shit lol. Ravage has always been...rough. Ozone is nothing. A made up target masters, lazy all silver no articulation crap repaint to go with, of all things, a Triggercon, who ought gavr pop out arm blasters, not Targetmastets at all. This little turd came with the Windsweper/Breakdown Doon and Destruction set. I thought this guy was worse than Cleansweep because this guy had the blaster peg handle between his feet. Idiotic. At least the other guy has it on the robot proper, on the chest.
@bigconvoy9850 What makes you think that? Other than a guess, because absolutely nothing has been officially stated to support that claim. I could see it but there is zero evidence to support such a claim.
Your transformation of Nucleous is odd for the legs. I've got the tires on the back of the legs giving him a cleaner look below the knees. I love that mold for all three colorings. Hopefully, Hasbro will give us some more in the "Rock Lord" category with a different mold than we have now. Even though the robot mode for Sideburn is ok, that figure disappointed me more than any old this year. I love RiD2001. Paint the car mode as it should have been!
I do, you arecright, because otherwise what the hell am I supposed to do with those shitty bat thruster things that have nowhere but his hands to go? He is easily yhe worst use of that mold.
I feel justified! Last year i voted for zigzag on the fan vote for worst of the year (i picked him above sunbeam because his paint chipped almost immediately)
The only one I have mix feelings about being on this list is Sideburn. Not because I am a Sideburn fan but because I enjoy the mold as Shadow Striker. Not sure why but the mold works for me but I will also toss in that I paid under $20 for her I believe. Seriously lower the price of some of these and it makes them better most of the time. The only exceptions being Legacy Wild Rider and Elita-1, got Wild Rider for like $3 to $6 and still felt ripped off.
You are right, you are absolutely right. I was way less harsh in my criticisms back when I thought the value proposition made sense. Higher they wanna charge, then the higher my standards become.
My 10 - 10. Hound for the way it was released more then the actual figure 9. energon Megatron/Galvatron hate that they were done in core class 8. ill stick to my 3rd party...havent purchased a mainline since Kingdom Cyclonous..That figure imo is peak quality for modern main line..Tired of Hasbro..Leader Class is now voyager size. And pricing has gotten ridiculous for the quality and size we are getting now.Tired of hearing "but more parts count better articulation etc.I mean a deluxe is $30 plus now.I do have Leagacy Galvatron and BlitzWing.Which are cool bots just not worth the price to me.Thats why I've moved exclusively to 3rd party Legends.Iron Factory.Magic Square,New Age and DR.WU..Its just sad that 30-40 yr old figures are higher quality.Less waffle and hollowness..Been goin back and collecting Generations,T30,Armada etc.Cant think of 1 modern mainline that I want or got to have.Just my opinion..Have a great day
Collect however suits you. I can't justify the legends prices but also cannot argue with the quality on many. You have def missed out on some gems, ten right here, but you gotta do what makes sense for you.
Next year make them a Naughty and Nice list.
lol. Not a bad idea.
Happy New Year, Dennis! I think it's a testiment to how great the 40th anniversary was when so many on the worst list were actually decent figures.
Many were but not all. There were still a few true stinkers.
@DennisMoultonAKAGotBot Yeah, those top 3 were quite bad🤣
@noyb9999 Indeed.
Happy New Year, Dennis.
Here's hoping 2025 will be vastly better.

Totally agree. Better if they’d skipped the “feature” altogether.
@BrianGeers Or actually mold new arms with the proper feature for a Triggercon.
