  • I'd like to pay a the ribute in memory of the late Natalie cole With his father's great song, Mr. Cole won't Rock & Roll. she had a fabulos career and life. Too bad I couldn't go to her concert in Hungary a few years ago. I will miss her so much. It ended an era with her death for ever. Rest in peace dear Natalie. finally you can meet your father and mom in heaven.

      I think Nat King Cole pointed out in a humorous way what was obvious to many then that Rock and Roll is so gimmicky.

    He so clumsy when he does his rock'n'roll dancing shtick! Quite genius. He always comes through so genuine and warm.

    One of the many things I love about Nat King Cole is he can produce absolute brilliance with absolutely no effort. This performance is a great example. Thanks for uploading.

    Only a performer comes around like that once in lifetime or a generation. I wished he had lived as long as the great Tony Bennett.

    Send for me was a rock n roll song and a great song from him. He can sing anything. Loved to have heard him sing Beatle love songs

      Natalie later said that Nat was none too fond of The Beatles music, but he did not live to hear the likes of Yesterday, which he would have done well with.

      @@Themaddprof that's quite the shame. Paul really loved those jazzy numbers, especially Sinatra, Peggy Lee, and Nat Cole.

    Nat was more than a singer. MUCH more than a singer! Nat was also a TV pioneer, the first black man to have his own TV show. Not an easy thing to do back then!

    Mr. Cole is a great singer and pianist, but the rock and roll bit was really lame ...especially the over use of the Teddy Bear guitar lick by the arranger....a pretty sloppy attempt

  • @garrisonic
    @garrisonic 6 років тому +3

    I adore Nat but this is a horendous arrangement most like not of his pen. He died very shortly after this sadly. Such an inspiration for an entire race and culture. His "trio" recordings are some of my favorites of anything I own.

      It's not meant to be as wonderful as his usual music. It's a parody of rock and roll.
      P.S. : "rock" was used in the middle '30's. Way before rock and roll.
