@@Appri I don't think webbing it up a shit ton would've made a difference, considering how powerful Venom is, he'd most likely still have no trouble ripping that thing out of the accelerator.
I love how this story showed us a new side of Venom. So many stories show him as this brutal, oppressive force that whoops ass, and while he still did that here, we also saw his weaker side. The symbiote wasn’t angry, but more so scared and afraid. It wasn’t mad at Peter, but more so felt that Peter abandoned it. It wasn’t trying to control the whole world, it genuinely felt that it was helping it. The symbiote spent the whole game trying to ensure it stayed relevant and couldn’t be disposed of, and I absolutely loved getting to see that more emotional side of it.
most comic book versions of venom ppl have an understanding that venom is basically just a jealous ex to spiderman. pining for his love even though he was rejected lol

Yeah the symbiote suit came first then Eddie Brock became Venom in the original. He's the jealous ex but then they eventually made up and worked together

Yeah, it's subtle, but you can see the hard pivot away after the horror that followed biting Kraven's head off. Venom went from that to deciding to share its strength with the world in order to heal it.
the fact that Spider-Man had to develop a special suit just to stand a chance against both Venom and Doctor Octopus in the first game is both awesome and intimidating at the same time it shows just how dangerous and formidable they both were in this adaptation

Peter didn't build this suit, it's actually the remaining symbiote in his body that joined with Martin Lee's healing cells and formed this symbiote that has the power to heal

I love how Miles tells Peter "I got this. All of it." That brought a tear to my eye
It’s like what the ending for Devil May Cry 5 could’ve been. Nero tells Trish, Lady, & Nico about something important. But they tell him what he’s gonna say. So they tell him to spend time to with Kyrie, just to accept the fact that Vergil is his father. And he’s glad that they got this, since they been doing it when they first met Dante, and before him. While they’ll come around if something comes up. Because they’re family. While the world doesn’t need a Sparda. It only needs those that were inspired by his legacy.
But I don’t think he’s gonna handle green goblin on his own

Obviously he can. Insomniac even ripped of the movie design, just made it a bit more buff and added a spider logo.
@@almas4663 I mean the buff and spidey logo are easy things to add on his Venom. But not for his personality and how he acts, because Hardy's Venom acts more like a hero rather than a villain. For me, Topher's Venom is more suitable to be intimidating, just add some more heights, buffs, and sound. He will be the perfect Venom.

Peters greatest superpower has always been his brain. We talk about the web slinging and super strength and spider-sense, but he often has to rely on his intellect to overcome these situations. It what will always make him the most powerful spiderman, even if miles and others have more powers and abilities.

@@ShadowedSasuke miles is no dummy, but most of the tech used was developed by Peter or Miles’s friend group. Miles However seems to have all the same powers as Peter, seems just as strong/ has just as powerful a spider-sense (it’s been argued that Peter’s is better, however no evidence backs that up in this game), so I’d argue that from a raw Spider-Man to Spider-Man show down miles is the stronger Spider-Man from a power perspective. Since the anti-venom suit didn’t seem to be removed at the end of the game, it’s perhaps safe to assume that Peter still has it and that could be an equalizer as the antivenom suit has resistances to fire, sound and shock.
Exactly, so that’s why it’s bullshit he gets bodied multiple times in this game. They respected him way more in the first game when he was actually defeating villains, saved the day multiple times, didn’t solely rely on Miles to do everything, and wasn’t getting saved multiple times…
@@Howlingburd19 That's the point I'm trying to make though in total now he's been Spider-Man for 10 years and in the first game he was handling most of the stuff perfectly fine except when he got jumped by the sinister six and even then he ran those back mainly 2v1 and still one and then rematched all those super villains and mostly one even when he fought doc Ock and got appears to the whole arm he was still fine and still won and now all the sudden he's getting saved left and right even when he said I'm missing my symbiote extra strength right now knowing damn well he can just hold back a little less and he'll be fine and he supposed to have a 250 IQ it doesn't feel like it

One complaint here, why exactly does Norman blame the spider men for what happened to Harry? He knew full well that the best and probably only way to stop venom was to kill Harry and Peter assured Norman that he was gonna try and save him…and did. So why is he now super pissed at him for putting him into a coma when he could’ve, and would’ve without miles’ help, died instead? It feels like a contrived “well he’s gotta become green goblin and hate Spider-Man somehow.” It feels like two different endings were made (one where Harry wakes up and one where they don’t even try and just bring him out) and they mixed up what cutscenes were supposed to go with which ending. Cause they get Harry up but then he’s immediately out cold and Norman is negatively shocked by what they did to him but they saved him and woke him up.
He's grieving and that doesn't make you think or behave rationally

And also like I said, it feels like they wrote 2 different endings and they mixed them up cause we bring Harry back and he’s awake but in the next scene he’s dying and in a coma and Norman acts like they killed him

I think the next game might have green Goblin, yes, but itll also have "Superior Spiderman". Otto might be working in the "transferring process", he goes through with it when Pete comes to him asking if he can help stop Norman. Otto thinks Pete would just let Norman live, "He can be the better Spiderman", and then he plays a chapter of the game trying to work with Miles as 1 of two PCs. Final chapter leads to the Gobkin show down, Miles has to stop Otto-Pete from killing Norman, then that leads to the final boss fight between the two Spidermen.

"You have to kill us" the best venom line I've ever seen. So well done.
The final act was basically Insomniac's take on Web of Shadows and King in Black, and I absolutely loved every second of it. I completly geeked out when the symbiote infected had the Knull symbol on their heads and Venom grew his King in Black wings.
There's a ton of references to Spider Man 3, Ultimate Spider Man (the video game), Web of Shadows, and the Knull storyline in this game. Peter ripping the suit off in pretty much the exact same way as Spider Man 3 at the climax of his final fight with Miles had me fucking cheer and I became a giddy kid in the theater again.
It's basically taking the best of every single major symbiote story and adaption across pretty much every source of media and every continuity and I am *here* for it.
Also Spider Man permanently keeping the black suit with no negative side effects satisfies 8 year old me and his fanfiction very much.

Man, after this game, my hype for their M rated wolverine game is NEXT LEVEL. If they could make this game this epic and emotional, imagine how Logan's journey is gonna be.

I love how Norman's "What have you done?...WHAT HAVE YOU *DONE?!?* " is a multiversal parallel, or a canon event of sorts, that connects Insomniac universe to Raimiverse in a subtle way

What bugs me is (and mind you, haven't played the game yet) that there's no logical sense in that scene. Spiderman comes out of a WRECKED hall, carrying a very, VERY injured child. You can see however, that he's carrying him with all the strength he has, falling to his knees but still refusing to let the child fall from his hands or get hurt. He then, CAREFULLY, brings that child to paramedics... So how does Norman come to the conclusion of "spiderman hurt my child"?! It makes no sense. If Spiderman was evil and wanted to hurt him, he'd have left him inside or something. Not walk out obviously injured and carrying his 'victim'. Smells like bad writing to me, I dunno.

Mark Rolston's (Norman Osborn) agony scream from 30:31 to 30:53 is crazy good too. The sheer desperation on his voice asking "why" is heartbreaking; no matter what he does, Harry ends up losing just the same. This game does an incredible job humanizing someone as sleazy and shady as Norman.

@@plocky4275 Crazy how with all his faults, Norman isn't a bad person. He just comes off as someone desperate to not lose his family. The symbiote and Devil's breath were made to cure the disease taking his family away and in both games, they are used as tools to cause chaos in the city. I feel bad for him since we know he never meant for all these things to happen, but he can't accept that responsibility as he's so desperate to save his family that he'll do anything for them. I think Harry ending up back where he started is what finally broke him and I'm curious to see where they go with him from here

They made venom almost as powerful as knull in this game 😳😳
This is a different version of Venom that’s being boosted by the meteorite. Honestly, it made him a bigger threat than he would’ve been at his normal level. Venom at his normal level would’ve gotten his ass beaten fighting both Spider-Men

The only reason he was such a global threat was because of the meteorite. Without it, when he eventually returns, he'll be plain old Venom.
@lishishur293 well, he'll be a real threat for sure. But on a different level. Venom was ONLY this much of a threat because of the meteorite, which is now destroyed. Like, if anyone is now expecting Carnage to get wings, they should prepare for disappointment.
Whoever made Venom have wings is a fucking genius. That’s probably the best iteration of Venom of all time imo, because it’s whenever he gains more abilities and powers and he finally goes against Knull after a bit. Knull is the god of symbiotes, and is in fact the maker of the necro-sword and is a pretty formidable, badass deity.

Tbh i think the 3rd game will have him and miles as playable and Silk will have a similiar role to MJ since its likely she wont be bitten by a spider until the end of the game and also i hope they introduce gwen stacy. Since we do need Captain Stacy. Gwen Stacy and Cindy Moon being friends in high school would be good and its likely Miles will be older than Cindy Moon aka Silk. It would be cool to have Gwen and Cindy as classmates and friends in the same school

It's good motivation for becoming a villain, but Norman's reason for becoming Green Goblin was dumb. If he knew Peter was Spider-Man, what's stopping him from understanding how painful Venom's attack on New York was for Peter?
At best, I could see him targeting Miles specifically, but knowing how much Peter's already suffered, and that he and Harry were best friends? He'd likely kidnap Peter and interrogate him on what happened, assuming he wouldn't go COMPLETELY coo-coo for carnage.

I love the implication that the suit prefers peter over harry and there are more instances of this, obvious one being when it wouldn't return to harry when Peter tried to give it back
And it tried to latch onto him the time harry joined peter on a mission (which I swear to god I heard the controller say "Peter" in the venom voice)
I understood that line more as of a reflection of how Harry felt about Peter and Mile’s relationship, and since Venom is connected to Harry, he feels this way as well.

Venom saying "We are your friend" is correct. The symbiote slowly replaces parts of you with itself. You still age, but the symbiote replaces the aged parts to extend your life span and eventually the symbiote is forced to find a new host when there is not much left to replace. When the symbiote came off Eddie Brock in the far future, all that was left was a shrivelled decaying body that turned to dust.
