I received my Remarkable 2 yesterday and I feel a little bit guilty looking at how I opened everything. I was excited and literally tore into everything. Compared to how careful you were, I bow my head to you, Sir! Wonderful presentation.

Congratulations on being among the chosen ones! You definitely deserved it :) and I hope you'll get many more subscribers in the future, all of your videos are incredibly in-depth and very well-made. I can't wait for my own Remarkable....sadly the shipping date has been set back again, now I'll have to wait until November(?) for my Batch 5 ._. After seeing the video, I'm very happy that they seem to have put in great effort into the feel of every surface. I hope it'll be worth the wait :)

Thank you for the presentation. I have purchased quite a number of remarkable 1. There were some issues. I am happy to see they finally removed the lower buttons which caused accidental presses and also removed the ugly galvanized look back. We are waiting for the new batch to arrive hopefully soon mainly due to the new and extended battery life.

The remarkable is amazing for sketching, I have 100+ sketches already. I am not an artist, I sketch floor plans, furniture ideas, workshop drawings etc. I think sketching has been downplayed or not mentioned both in advertising and reviews, maybe because complex drawings might be a little too much for the hardware and the manufacturer did not want to disappoint artists. But for sketching it is perfect! What an amazing tool they have created. Edit: I also think the manufacturer is active, listening to users and adding functions, which is a huge plus. I love the new pinch to zoom function for instance! Edit 2: 6/6 to this review by the way! Edit 3: 7/6 (I found your in depth episodes 🙂)

Thanks for the unboxing, and first look. A couple of questions. 1. Is there anywhere that you can put the spare pen nibs inside the folios? 2. There appears to be nowhere to put the pen safely in, or on the leather folio. I would not like to just rely on the magnet to hold the pen to the side of the Rem2. A wee tip: the folio case, turn the Remarkable 2 so that the dark edge is on the outer edge so that, when you go to pull it out, you’re not putting pressure on the screen (as it looked tight)... and pull on the dark bezel. That book cover is gorgeous, the one in brown, and if you add the dark pencil it’s a beautiful combination.
This is exactly the type of review I was looking for addressing this device. It really is helping me decide to purchase it or not...I could have lived without the moralizing about the use of leather and the ridiculous implicit assertion that we were slaughtering cows to make tablet folios (you know how many cows are slaughtered everyday to feed people, right or wrong, and you would just discard the hide to waste?). So, in short, stick to the tech and your review, my friend, and refrain from pandering.
My channel, my work, my decisions, you don't get to tell me what I do or don't do. You only get to decide if you want to watch my video or not, that's the extent of it really :)

First, thank you for the comment about using cruelty free products. I bought a fabric folio on Amazon that works beautifully…and was less than half the price. I also notice it has the missed opportunities of the R2 cover (magnets on back etc) I’ve had my Remarkable 2 for 3 months and have been too intimidated to use it properly. I appreciate your excellent content…very helpful. Subscribed!

I ordered with the Brown leather folio and Marker Plus. Glad I did! On the topic of leather, let’s assume that’s it’s taken from nothing more than that which is produced through farming animals.
Still, no need to promote use of products that are a result of animal cruelty, especially not for a tablet cover, especially not in 2020 when we have a lot of perfectly usable and beautiful alternatives.
My Deep Guide I don’t disagree with that. FYI I chose the Book Folio not because I’m a huge fan of leather, but.. 1. I prefer the flip type to the slip case Folio 2. Aftermarket flip types for rM 1 were overly bulky and ill-fitting. reMarkable might only switch to artificial leather if the many of us feedback on use of leather and restrain from buying the real leather folio.

I was so excited to see such a beautiful device... Unfortunately, so full of software flows. My expectations were high and I just realized that I did not need the paper feel, I needed a paper with digital powers! Therefore I canceled my batch 2 order in favour of one of the two ONYX BOOX products (Note2 or Max3). I Just need to figure out which one. Thank you @MyDeepGuide for opening my eyes! PS: Remarkable has really bad customer service.

reMarkable doesn't know what you mean when you say "scalable" or "canvas", unless you write in a zoomed in level, in which case you could kinda get a bit of that result.

We don't "slaughter animals" to produce leather. We use what would otherwise be a waste product from the food and drink industry.

So every content goes to the manufacturer's servers? Huge security concern! I wouldn't use that for job-related stuff!
I wonder why don't they use end to end encryption. It would make it more desirable. I would buy it right away.

reMarkable doesn't know what you mean when you say "scalable" or "canvas", unless you write in a zoomed in level, in which case you could kinda get a bit of that result.
@@MyDeepGuide Thank you! That's a really insightful response! I know there isn't really a pinch and zoom function but I'd be interested to see what's capable with the zoom. Although I understand the Sony device might be a better suited to the type of work I do
