My man splitting lanes, no license plate or motorcycle license, no long sleeve on! Feeling a bit anxious when you took your hands off thinking how’s this thing going to handle if you hit a small bump in the road!
I personally love the direct drive aspect of this motorcycle. I use them one most all my E-Bike builds, they are about bullet proof with no moving parts. I have no need to be popping wheelies, no country for old men. But do like the top end of the silent power they produce. Never heard of a system having a top mode that cuts out after a short time except if the battery were dying. Most E-bike system have multiple power setting but I never had one do that. Like the frame design seeing you can be creative with an electric vehicle design.
I'm guessing the bike is switching between its peak power rating and its continuous power rating-- and not doing so in a smooth manner. Very problematic on the highway!

I am very impressed with the suspensions. For this price, it's still good. Even though it's not the perfect motorcycle, Sondors did something amazing, and that is to create a vehicle within this segment. I hope they become successful because that means there will be more competition later down the line, which is great for consumers. As of right now, the only other e-motorcycle that I would consider are the Zero bikes, and those start at least 2x this. If Sondors can produce something that can hit 90mph without a cooldown period, I'm sure they would sell a lot because people can actually take it on the highway. Honestly, this is less Sondors's problem than it is battery technology. To have a battery this small and light that can handle that amount of output is not easy with current battery tech. However, solid state, salt batteries are going into production now so if those become available, I'm sure Sondors and many other players can do amazing things with that.
The technology is there Dude if you inject stator fluid ie, millions of round nano particles suspended in oil into the hub stator just 6ml it will stick to the magnets and stop friction hence more than half the heating process! What a bike though eh!
@@rogereheadbyrne4790 Yeah but is it there for something of this size? The motor spinning any faster might also be a problem. Big problem with hub motors is that the wheel becomes too heavy, it is called unsprung mass and on bikes and motorcycles it sacrifices handling quality. It is ok for scooters but that is probably why surron has a chain
Not really, once you have a bike over 100lbs, the "unsprung mass" is barely felt. Yes you need a better suspension as there is a motor there that can bounce up but you get more space for battery, better wheelies and control of them and also more range.

i wonder if it has some type of slow start enabled by default cus i think it probably has alot of torque if it can go that fast. edit: yep i found a video that showed the stock controller settings and it seems like it has a slow start setting enabled by default. that's probably why it didn't wheelie.
it also has less torque because it's a direct drive hub motor. if you've ridden direct drive hub motor ebikes you know they can be powerful but always have less torque than geared hub or mid drives. this is because without gear reduction/torque multiplication, all the torque had to come from either lots of windings/or very high current /thick wires. both mean weight which is not good for hub motors, and cost (more copper). on the other hand hub motors have bigger radius so it helps torque a bit but still hard to match the torque achieved with gear reduction. on a sur Ron it would be the equivalent to run a tall gearing.
@@geemy9675 what in the delusional world are you saying lol. This hub motor has low turns and low amps, a mid drive still would have the same problem. Weight of hub motors is on par with mid drive but due to being on the wheel they need a better suspension setup but you get better wheelies and more space. gear reduction 🤣 that's not how it works with hub motors, they have copper wire turns within them that control torque and speed. A higher turn hub motor will have more torque. QS205 5T 0-50 (top speed) is quicker than a surron motor doing 0-50 with same gearing (50mph top speed) and amps. Dont speak if you have no clue abt ebikes.
@@SRNAR8 pretty sure some bicycle hub motors use gears but other than that i think you are right. i don't think there is enough space for gears in motorcycle hub motor.
@@SRNAR8 the "delusional" world where I live is a world where it is easier/cheaper/lighter/more efficient to generate high torque and power with small/fast spinning electric motors and gear reduction that multiplies the torque, than to generate same final torque and power with a much bigger/slow spinning direct drive motor. a world where all EV's and 90+% ebikes use gear reduction to achieve high torque. the vehicles that use direct drive hub motors are those with tiny wheels which don't need gear reduction. skateboards, scooters, etc. it's physics. power = rpm x torque that is why all high output/highly tuned electric OR gas engines have high rpms. then gear reduction allows high torque at low speeds.
It's most likely the way the bms is programmed on the battery. They wanted the battery to last for many cycles so they limited the bms to discharge low amps at start and slowly ramp up as opposed to dumping all the amps from the beginning like some batteries with different bms programming
I've had both motorcycles and E-bikes. I'd kinda have to go with gas motorcycle over ebike for 1 main reason... 1-2 minute gas fill up vs. 5 hours of charging. Nobody wants to wait 5 hours to contine the ride! Especially if you live in the hills. Hills take a lot more energy then the flat lands of the mid-east.
when the stark varg releases will you be showcasing it? it has a 60 horsepower and 80 horsepower model and its an electric dirt bike. its only 110kg and great suspension. when you can get one you should check it out its extremely powerful
should have mentioned charging and the fact they also promised a quick removable battery which they later revised. I still the bike & Review i was gonna buy one but the community group pages had me worrying
yeah it suck that they change that up, but it only a few bolt to unscrew. Not as bad as people saying it to be. You can alway park it inside and charge it lol
8:13 - 8:35 I know what you are saying is an honest review, but I just laughed so hard 😂😂😂😂 I thought you were gonna drop a little story or something, not that! 🤣🤣 But thanks for the info bro! I'm split between gas and electric.
I can't imagine how excited you would be to test ride an Energica Ribelle RS. It's all I can do to keep the front tire on the ground when fully accelerating. 0-60 in 2.6 seconds.
I'd be interested in your take on the Ryvid when it comes out. Though it costs slightly more than the Sondors, it's got some next-level specs, some cool features, and an easily removable, drop-down roll-away battery to allow you to take in and charge.
I love the idea, but given the constraints of this ev vs a equally priced ice bike (any 300/400), I still lean towards the ice bikes. Range, acceleration, technology, ride modes, etc still heavily favor the ice variants.

you probably already know but I googled their company out of curiosity, they've shutdown and will not ship a single product I dont know how the preorder system was but I feel bad if some people paid the full price and haven't received a thing
Looks great! One thing tho, if you tune a hub motor for it, they can be just as snappy as a mid drive motor. It might take a higher input current, but they def have the snap. Check out my build, I can firsthand say it has the snap of a mid drive.
I have two old motorcycles a ninja zx6 and a Vulcan 500 and they cost me very little money used. This was before everything went up so much in price a couple years ago. The ninja is so loud, I have to wear ear plugs, there is an aftermarket 4 into 1 exhaust with a muzzy can and no baffles. Here's the thing, it's saved me several times. I was going to put a quieter muffler but people hear it coming you get over 12000-13000 RPM and it's screaming. They can hear me inside their cars clearly at 7000 rpm. The vulcan is more quiet but still not quiet. It's bad enough people don't see motorcycles. But I feel like not hearing them either is a really bad idea. Also, the ninja goes 100 miles an hour in 3rd and has six gears and it's addictive. And it was $1250 in 2019 with 8600 miles on it. But it was winter and I did have to do some work to it.
11:45 Just to let you know because it looks like you never own a hub motor before but you can do wheelies with a hub motor just not that hub motor because it looks like they tuned it for top speed over torque. So just for your Info. Hub motors can also wheelie if tuned for torque over top speed and that also goes for mid drives as well
Sonders did a great job with this bike for the price. I think they got the squeeze from other companies which forced them out of business. This bike would have been revolutionary with upgrades.
Ive seen some hub motor bikes pull the front wheels off the ground effortlessly lol. Even seen some do it with a stock battery.... but they all had custom controllers and/or controller settings of course.
Hey Sur Ronster, Excellent review on the MetaCycle!👏🏼 Could you please review a Rumble Motors V4 E Motorcycle also. I trying to to pick between the two, Thank you!🤗
One thing to keep on mind is that the wireless phone cradle does not accommodate the large Samsung phones. My note 10+ did not fit in that housing even without the case.
Right at the start I can already see some things, even if it can do everything the motor is on the wheel, and it's a huge motor, that's alot of unsprung wheight, that's how they where able to put the battery lower since in the surroon the motor ocupies part of that space, but overall it seems good if you intend to drive on asphalt, as soon as you go offroad that unsprung wheight in the rear wheel may be a problem, at least it has a lower center of gravity compared to the surron...
They have come a ways with styling, however, for 7K one can get a late model used adult sized ICE Bike with low miles with a comfortable seat and ride quality.

You mentioned tuning these bikes in a different video. Maybe you can have the high-speed cutout turned out of it? That is a sweet bike. I am not a stunt rider so other than that cutout, it would be perfect for me,
A new 2022 hasqvarna 401 cost as low as 5000 CAD (~3600 usd). It is basically a stylish Duke 390 (just google it, its gorgeous) with 40hp and can go up to 110 mph. So you tell me if this electric motorcycle with a hub motor is worth it.
ok so the physical aspects that you didn't like are things that on a normal bike you can replace with better options. If this uses industry standard applications then no issues cause the stuff can be swapped out but if they are all proprietary then that's a bad look. As a non highway commuter this might be a good option for me. However the overall range on a single charge comes into play.
The design is cool with the hole in the middle but I feel like that could have been used for battery or storage and then if they used it for battery you would have a gotten more range or more power or both and you could have made it not so bulky at the bottom so it would not hit your ankles

@@CotyPangallo-hk6wpyeah they seem popular enough. Shouldn’t have a hard time finding parts 🤞. I have been eyeballing the Electro & Company rtr pit bike. I like smaller bikes so the cops leave me alone(more).
What would be your electric motorcycle recommendation. And for a 6’1” 235 guy.
Friend, get in on the EUC scene too. master pro has 4800wh it's massively fast and more nimble than any E-cycle.
i wonder if it has some type of slow start enabled by default cus i think it probably has alot of torque if it can go that fast. edit: yep i found a video that showed the stock controller settings and it seems like it has a slow start setting enabled by default. that's probably why it didn't wheelie.
it also has less torque because it's a direct drive hub motor. if you've ridden direct drive hub motor ebikes you know they can be powerful but always have less torque than geared hub or mid drives.
this is because without gear reduction/torque multiplication, all the torque had to come from either lots of windings/or very high current /thick wires. both mean weight which is not good for hub motors, and cost (more copper). on the other hand hub motors have bigger radius so it helps torque a bit but still hard to match the torque achieved with gear reduction. on a sur Ron it would be the equivalent to run a tall gearing.
When downhill, use regenerative braking only. Will help the range a lot.
when the stark varg releases will you be showcasing it? it has a 60 horsepower and 80 horsepower model and its an electric dirt bike. its only 110kg and great suspension. when you can get one you should check it out its extremely powerful
I hope he does since I'm planning on buying it, I'm definitely sceptical about the claimed horsepower in each model though.
should have mentioned charging and the fact they also promised a quick removable battery which they later revised. I still the bike & Review i was gonna buy one but the community group pages had me worrying
yeah it suck that they change that up, but it only a few bolt to unscrew. Not as bad as people saying it to be. You can alway park it inside and charge it lol
I'm still waiting on my Metacycle delivery date. Thank you for reviewing the Metacycle for me. It makes me way more excited to mine in.
Same, brother
you are probably aware already but they have shutdown and will never ship a single product
love the content ;) keep it up!!😄
8:13 - 8:35 I know what you are saying is an honest review, but I just laughed so hard 😂😂😂😂 I thought you were gonna drop a little story or something, not that! 🤣🤣 But thanks for the info bro! I'm split between gas and electric.
Honestly looks pretty good too almost like a mini tron looking bike 😅
I can't imagine how excited you would be to test ride an Energica Ribelle RS. It's all I can do to keep the front tire on the ground when fully accelerating. 0-60 in 2.6 seconds.
I'd be interested in your take on the Ryvid when it comes out. Though it costs slightly more than the Sondors, it's got some next-level specs, some cool features, and an easily removable, drop-down roll-away battery to allow you to take in and charge.
Love the video man I hear the smile on your face at the beginning of the video
Seems like a nice package overall. Guess the question is, can you overcome the negatives, like the grips and pegs?
Aftermarket grips and pegs would easily fix that issue.
Awesome and honest review Sur Ronster I trust in you 👊💥☝️🔥🤘👍🏼😝
I love the idea, but given the constraints of this ev vs a equally priced ice bike (any 300/400), I still lean towards the ice bikes. Range, acceleration, technology, ride modes, etc still heavily favor the ice variants.
After 10 min of googling, I've only found what looks to be mountain bikes when I search ice bike. What is an ice bike??
@@liquidlinguist3331 ice stands for internal combustion engine, the opposite of electric cars/bikes known as EV’s.
@@chrisdupuy7749 Thank you much friend, my mind can rest easy now knowing there aren't some crazy psychopaths out there riding on bikes made of ice.
EV's don't deafen you and your neighbors.
@@ThePiemasteification all my neighbors have corvettes, vipers, mustangs, go carts, 4-wheelers, motorcycles etc. I guess I am used to hearing the sweet music of a combustion engine.
Another stellar episode! Great review.
For my purposes this works well, pricey but I’m ok with the price of a 2023 Diavel or the new Nightster Special from Harley. Manufacturers like Volcon over price and under deliver. This is probably well worth the cake but I’ll need to ride one before I spend all that
You can get a helluva used real motorcycle for under $7k !!
The uncomfortable seat killed it for me. I have tailbone issues so the seat is super important.
Not worth it, sondors stole my $500 deposit, and refuses to respond.
you probably already know but I googled their company out of curiosity, they've shutdown and will not ship a single product
I dont know how the preorder system was but I feel bad if some people paid the full price and haven't received a thing
@@cheshire_ whattt. i considered a Sondors like 2 years ago. no way they shut down!! thats crazy.
HAHAHAHHAHA get scammed
@@Bone_Reaper I'm used to your mammie scamming me tho
Wow Thanks was gonna buy
That intro animation gets me every time bro, its so clean!
Looks great! One thing tho, if you tune a hub motor for it, they can be just as snappy as a mid drive motor. It might take a higher input current, but they def have the snap. Check out my build, I can firsthand say it has the snap of a mid drive.
Yeah i have seen some really good hub motors that would do crazy power wheelies. 😃
I think they may have made it less snappy to make it more easy to ride for beginners. 🙂
I live in SD! Love to see you out here.
bro is riding bikes without a license 💀💀💀
Is it a crime in nyc
??
Duuuuudeeeee!!!! I was just there Friday 4/21 morning looking at the bike plug into a charger in San Diego!!!!
Too expensive.
The fact he isn't wearing a motor cycle jacket and armor, or hell even full sleeves jacket while going like 65 mph had me sweating.
I just got a razor mx350 because of you love the content 💪💙
2:40 "So this is street legal. Im gonna abide by all the laws" As he is chilling in the crosswalk on a motorcycle. 😂
Im cool with the lane splitting, it's 100% legal.
@8:06
How fast you going ?
What's the posted speed ?
Why you going so fast ?
This channel is the only channel I watch for electric dirtbikes and how to build them and great job keep it up your videos are amazing!
Congrats for the camera work and good audio!
3:30 "I could put anyone on it and they would be a natrual" bet put me on it
11:45 Just to let you know because it looks like you never own a hub motor before but you can do wheelies with a hub motor just not that hub motor because it looks like they tuned it for top speed over torque. So just for your Info. Hub motors can also wheelie if tuned for torque over top speed and that also goes for mid drives as well
when I'm older ill definitely get this looks amazing
Yo ur intro is fyyyrrrreeeee with "on my own" and the helmet edit... jeeeeesshhhhh
Thank you bro! Gets me hyped every time
The Eking of the retains his drown great video I will STAY TUNED!!!!!!
Great video! Loving the commentary. ❤
surronster! killin it as always my dude 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽⚡️
Hey, so i just bought a GoPro and was wondering what settings you use
wow after many years a actually good video of this moto
also where did you get that chest bag/pouch?
Hey Sur Ronster, Excellent review on the MetaCycle!👏🏼 Could you please review a Rumble Motors V4 E Motorcycle also. I trying to to pick between the two, Thank you!🤗
The fluid shaking in the brake reservoir can cause cavitation which could be deadly
These e-mopeds are going to be extremely dangerous for anyone without a background in riding motorcycles. They have no clue.
When the aircon is on fresh can of soda and lying down on my couch and a new sur ronster video 😊
I own a sondors ebike for about 1 year they are really good bikes
I love your videos. They are amazingly put together. Can't wait for the next one!!
They have come a ways with styling, however, for 7K one can get a late model used adult sized ICE Bike with low miles with a comfortable seat and ride quality.
rather honest and straight up review ,,, sexy bike
Thanks as always for great content! How does the Solar E-Clipse 2.0 compare?
6:52 You literally almost Died 💀 at 79mph
And with you the whoooowhoo a perfect duuuumb ways to die lol
Great review First time seeing this bike, also Kudos of the GREAT audio 👍
When is the Surronster Ebike coming out?? been waiting for it for like a year!!!
Without a clutch and gears it's still an E-bike to me but still sick AF.
New surronster vid and a new mic i think lessgooooo
I was ecited when i first seen sondors makeing a electric motorcycle then seen the specs and the cost. Decided to just build my own have more power, more range and less cost lol
You mentioned tuning these bikes in a different video. Maybe you can have the high-speed cutout turned out of it? That is a sweet bike. I am not a stunt rider so other than that cutout, it would be perfect for me,
Will be the story I will be watching for 2024 with Sur Ron the biggest BEV "good story" of 2023.
According to the paperwork, this is a "2021" Sondors Metacycle! I do like the video, please make more.
they are just getting them out now and apparently at 2k more than they advertised them to be not more than a year ago.
Was waiting till the end like surely there's a wheelie coming
Bro i love you voice!!!!! You are the YT goat 🐐
Hey Surronster great video, but when you go this fast you should we’re proper sedately gear.
Very nice vid I wanna saw u to tune this thing up!
a commuter type bike is my main reason for wanting an ebike
they cut corners but I think it was definitely worth it to bring that price to where it is. this thing is so sikk!
The design is cool with the hole in the middle but I feel like that could have been used for battery or storage and then if they used it for battery you would have a gotten more range or more power or both and you could have made it not so bulky at the bottom so it would not hit your ankles
It is supposed to be a storage space - they sell a bag that fits in there, seperatly of course.
@@corail53 oof I think I would rather have like saddlebags or something and then use that space in the middle for battery or bigger motor or anyting else
