Do you have a video about the transmission shifting problems might I watch it My transmission won't shift out of first and now it slipps alot I put Lucas tyranny stuff in it yesterday and it started doing this. It did not have a problem until I put it I n.
To anyone wondering: this solenoid being defective will cause hard shifting, late shifting (so can the speed sensor), TC lockup issues at cruising speeds, and other various issues. If you’re experiencing any transmission shifting issues, do this before anything else. Thank you for posting this detailed video, it was very easy to follow along with and informative. Great job.
@@riggafranksame here. 01 ram 1500. Code says pressure control solenoid wire broken or shorted. I dont know if its a wire or the solenoid itself. Trying to do some tracing but its a pain
There's a zillion of these vids just showing the selenoid replacement. Thanks for going thru the whole thing up to the outside connector. That really helped.
I just want to say thank you. I've had that problem for a couple years and I did take it to the shop but they just took my money and they said it was fixed but I kept having the same problem until now that I saw your video. People like you really make a difference. Thank you.
Good job my friend. Let's hope that's my problem on my Dodge 5.7. Ram 1500 , I would also like to compliment how clean your shop is , you are a true professional. 👍
i watched this video and was very helpful so i fixed my transmission myself, my problem was that spring inside the cyclinder , i recommend buying a trans kit that includes solinoids and spring, filter, gaskit etc
which spring, I found the one in the accumulator was busted but also saw that, that spring is prone to breaking so even if it's not broken it was recommended on forums to replace it anyway to avoid having to open again soon after repair to replace it, but are you talking about another spring, also what was the problem you had that replacing this fixed? Thanks for the video. OI have been looking at many different videos, this is top of the line. Its in a working condition that Im working in, great visual camera work and very clear audio. Does not go of track.
So I just left the transmission shop after pulling this part. They say it's an Overdrive kick down sensor. Not a pressure solenoid. Am I missing something here?
I want to do this operation myself but I am worried about that spring, you are not really showing how you put it back and it seems to be a sensitive part of the job. Could you elaborate a little? I heard sometimes the problem is just the spring that is broken or damaged. Where to find a new spring? THX
i had broke the transmission connector solenoid, (plastic piece that bolts to the valve body), when I installing the valve body.. it looks like it only serves two purpose holding the connector and swivel to make the install thru the trans case.. if I were to leave it as is would I have shifting problems.. looking for some insight..

I have a 95 1500 180k miles and recently it did not want to go into gear. I took to a local shop but I don't think they wanted to work on it. It seemed like it went out without any kind of warning, is this normal? After I was on side of road for about five minutes engine off I turned back on and once placed in lowest of gears it moved a little bit, but then stopped. Will doing this procedure be advised, if not I guess I have to sell for parts. Thanks!

i have 1994 3500 Cummins 4x4 and the tranny takes a few minutes of shifting it back and forth between forward and reverse before it builds enough pressure to engage if it's been sitting for a day or two. i have a dodge journey 2011 and wath it does is that it hesitats wen it goes to change gear for about a second or to second's so do you think it could be the same part that i have to replace ?
Maybe you know the answer to this unique issue I have on my 2005 Dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins automatic w/overdrive transmission? 196,000 miles. It's the original transmission and motor. All fluids/oils and filters regularly changed and kept clean/new. Not used to tow often...4-5 times a year at most and 8,000 lb loads at most. I've asked 4 tranny shops and a few forums and Facebook groups but no luck finding same problem or proper fix. I'm wondering if I'm just that special?!?? Lol One mild Fall day last year I had driven 260 miles on interstate at about 75-80 mph. It began slowly reducing speed over 6 miles from 80 to 15mph. Moving fuel pedal would not do anything but make it stumble a little a couple dozen RPMs up or down. Stopping and restarting it immediately did not help nor did changing gears manually. All fluids were fine, not too hot and no burning of anything fluid or conduit wire was observed. All looked good under and above it. I stopped it for 30 minutes as I checked it over. It would drive normally after that, but it would only go 25-30 miles before it would slowly slow down again as described above. I did this over many cycles all the way home 260 miles. I'd turn it off and on again, completely off as it rested for 25 minutes. The batteries seemed to be getting charged (started well each time) and no warning lights were on. Once or twice, when I drove it until it would not even crawl anymore (1-2 mph, I was testing it), it stalled. So it wasn't hard starting or hard-stalling unless I took it all the way down to 1-2 mph speed. It was not idling weird either. Could this be an electrical ground failure or electronic issue? If I had a battery connection loose or anything disrupting the flow could it cause this? It seems like something is getting tired and needing to cool down or something but nothing was overly hot or smoking. What's weird to me is it's not slipping in the usual way of revving up but not moving. It would usually get no lower than idle. Tranny shops haven't heard of this before. No transmission codes either. They want to charge me $3,000+ for new or rebuilt tranny. I want to rule out wiring and electronics (that don't throw codes) first. Any suggestions? Heard of this ever before for an automatic transmission?
i had a similar problem with my diesel, it would die and if i let it sit then it would run. turned out to be the fuel shutoff. you can manually wire it open to test but the truck won't shutoff. diesels only shutoff when the fuel is shutoff to them.

Could my clutch plates in the differential be slpping and making it seem like the transmission. If someone could please help me I would appreciate it greatly
I am also having trouble in the reverse but I'm trying to back the trailer up I'm having to run our rpm higher it's having trouble to back the truck up

I've got a 97 Ram 1500 2wd 5.9 L Automatic Trans, it won't shift into 3rd gear. I can't hold it in second gear and maintain speed. I have to slow down to 25mph to accellerate. Before this happened it was shifting erractically
What fixed it? I currently have this problem with the same truck
What was the fix? Same issue here
So we are getting a code- P0382.... It will not drive past 20 MPH, and there is no shifting, any ideas on what could cause this?
Same problem here
Did you drop pan? How does fluid look?
what does he mean by bad shifting?
I was wondering the same what kind of transmission shifting problems did he have in order to fix this what was the truck doing
Great job man I'm doin mine this Sunday
Jose Hernandez so did u do yours yet
What symptoms was your truck having?
Sir, i Just replace my governor solenoid and governor sensor on my 2000 5.2 ram Is a 4x4 shifts fine but Is Like a weak, What would be
my 94 dodge dies when you put it in rev, does good in drive any feedback
Does this solenoid have any affect on the tack working or what makes the tack work on this model of ram? I thought it would be through the cam position sensor but it didn’t change after replacing..maybe it’s in the instrument panel …
Tac works off the distributor
my 1997 dodge ram 1500 v6 has this same code p0740 popping up do you know the same TCC SOLENOID MODULE fits my year model truck?
I have a 07 Dodge 3500 four-wheel-drive Dooley having trouble when I'm going forwards I can feel shift in first second when I get up to about 40 miles an hour then it downshifts and I could feel I don't have the power and the transmission it when I'm got the trailer hooked up what could be wrong
What dodge transmission is this cause it is different then my ram 1500 46RE ?
46rh... same as a518 if you add overdrive
howstuffinmycarworks . sir, will this fix the won't go in reverse problem?
Juan G that you will have to adjust the band in transmission pan area . I just did mine
I have a 99 dodge dakota 5.9 I put new bearings and seals in the rear end last week. My transmission was working OK then someone told me put Lucas transmission stuff in the tyranny so I did now my transmission won't shift out of first gear. I have to take off with high rpms and let off the gas and it will go to another gear. I changed my fluid and filter today and still no change. Could my clutch plates in the differential be slpping and making it seem like the transmission. If someone could please help me I would appreciate it greatly
I'm having trouble tarnsmission I feel going 1 gear 2 gear I get it up to would down shift to First gear what could be wrong
i know it’s been 2 years but did you figure out the issue, i have the exact same problem
DO YOU STILL HAVE THE DODGE RAM ??
Ok you do all this what if it's hot reverse but now it slips through all heard don't want to go forward
I am also having trouble in the reverse but I'm trying to back the trailer up I'm having to run our rpm higher it's having trouble to back the truck up
Could that bad solinoid cause surging? My trans jump into high gears while driving at random times...(not slipping or clunking)
what fixed the problems ? have exactly the same right now on my 1999
Good video, clean garage !
