The professional locksmith in this video did a good job keeping secrets. I know for a fact that when using a stethoscope on a safe combination lock, if the safe is not open in the first ten minutes then the stethoscope is useless. You would then try regular manipulation on the safe lock which could take a few minutes or a few hours. However using a stethoscope to listen for the fence to hit the gaps may be possible for one of the internal wheels. But what you hear mostly is the lever nose hitting the cam gate"s two edges.
For a common safe like this an easy way to get past it if you don't want to go through the trouble it's just simply drill a hole right behind the cover of the door from the side in towards the dial. You're going to have to go through a couple sheets of mild steel and some concrete as the fire protection. if you drill in the right spot you can stick a borescope in there and literally watch the wheels as they turn so you can open it. It takes longer to drill through the side than to decode it and once you're done they make brand specific paint to put over the welded repair and nobody even knows there was a hole.
My safe had a cover plate there.. so i took the cover off.. then drilled the hole. i didn't need the borescope. between sight and using a paperclip as a feeler i got the combo. I then put the cover back on to cover the hole.
Considering how much he would have gotten paid for it and the fact that it would have helped get his name out to people who needed safes unlocked after forgetting the combo or jamming the lock it was in all likelyhood well worth the 2 and a half hours.
A little safe like that even at that weight the pro would just use professional moving equipment and bring it back to the shop where you have more time
SKAVENGERS10, haha. I tried with a toy plastic combo lock and was actually able to solve it. It was a 4 number combo lock and when you scroll through the options it would make a click before and after the number that was part of the lock. Did this 4 times and got the combo in about 10 minutes. You should try it.
+David Auge lol wow, why do people post comments when they have no clue wtf they are talking about. I'm a locksmith, I drill safes, open locks, doors, open cars when people are locked out. We're not limited to busting into high school kids lockers idiot.
I am not a locksmith, but I am a professional - opening many different locks in seconds or minutes. I do this for a living. in the middle of the night... :)
I don't think he forgot to mention any information aside from the fact you can't go back to try again you must start over everytime you miss the gap ... wtf is that secret information he said he left out ?
If it has not glass re-locker or hard plate it could be easily drilled from the front. Otherwise you would have to drill from the top, sides, or back and use a scope to try to figure out the combination through the change key opening
Two and a half hours to manipulate a 3 wheel combination lock under perfect conditions with no stress and all the lights on. Very impressive - not! That's why criminals never try it and safe engineers always go for the easier, quicker and cheaper option of simply drilling it open.
Hey smug-nugget; it's still impressive, even if it doesn't fit your "standards". Thieves rarely use this method, yes. But we are talking about legitimate nondestructive entry here, like jammed locks or forgotten combinations. Again, doesn't make it less impressive.
All the stethoscope does is holp you hear the contact points. You must visually watch the dial number increments. It also looked like the last number was in the dead zone for an s&g. His drill bit shown looked like concreat bit not a carbide like say a strong arm bit. I think the opening was staged.
My dad got a safe in trade on let go and the owner forgot his own combo, but knows nothing important is inside. I just don't want to destroy it to open it...lol P.s. I also stole like 17 safes from "various" locations.. they don't count, right?!? 🤣🤣😎
No graph righting down possible codes , his known the combo or just guessed possible ones , you could drill that plate door tin box open in 10 minutes and scope the change key .
As a former locksmith it's not terribly complicated once you understand the mechanics behind it but as a current dyslexic it still gets confusing.
I can't even open a combination lock if I have the number
Good one!
Me too! I hate combination locks, I just use the number dial thingie, much easier. Or a lock with a key.
4,3,2,1 combination
@whoz thatdude, same.
I can lockpick it for you (I can't FBI)
You can open a safe using a stethoscope..... having *27 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE* helps also
Wow..i have lost code to mine. Do u think i could got any luck as an amature??
@@pappacarinbergdahl9895 of course, it may take a while, so assuming you have 27 years to try, you surely can do it.
🤣
Pro tip: Put a very loud midget in your safe and the criminal will have a hard time opening the safe.
This aged well. One 'Like' is awarded

2 1/2 hours. We have to give him some slack as he has never done this with a stethoscope before.
*opens up the chair* shit just got real
thanks i was about to rob my neighbors house but i forgot how to open a safe
Wut

what do you mean lol? This is basically the best kind of ad you can get. You're on TV, youtube, and you show off how good you are.
2 hours damn, but the owners get home in 30 minutes
security is a process, not a purchase. every lock can be open in 999999 hours, can't it? you're just buying time
This was assuming that YOU’RE the owner of the safe, but lost the combination. Robbing people is for losers.
the sales of stethoscopes just skyrocketed
Mcjuggernuggets needs this guy
Omg I came here because of mcjuggernuggets. We need to tell him to hire someone like this
That's y I came to this video
Same lmao
You came from there to
+MJNfan Hahaha so did i 😂😂
Thanks for letting us know how to crack open a safe! lol
At last, a movie trope that turns out to be true!
But in the movie that just take a second time for open it. It's look liar too.
Haven't seen a CONY contact mic in a long long time!!! What a throwback to my previous life as a ... (not gonna say).
good advertising... shows how pro you are... then again, i'm sure opening a safe for the queen is probably a better resume builder
anyone close to south Dakota that can do this? the job pays
+mcdangdang dafuq?
mcdangdang, I can open it from Florida.
Considering how much he would have gotten paid for it and the fact that it would have helped get his name out to people who needed safes unlocked after forgetting the combo or jamming the lock it was in all likelyhood well worth the 2 and a half hours.
Could you use a glass of water?
Just the vibration of the meniscus to tell whether a pin had fallen into place? Rather than a stethoscope?
It's kind of funny when the guy says 2 1/2 hours and you can see it is already sunset outside the window...
He looked super concentrated
Absolutely no pertinent information.
4 dislikes 4 people have dat safe
Ok but now you’ve only got 10 mins before the laser array kicks on and the outer steel doors form an air-tight seal
That guy sat there for 2hours and 30mins just to open a safe for the show lol
lol looks like I'm not the only one who was inspired to look up safecracking videos after reading that post.
A little safe like that even at that weight the pro would just use professional moving equipment and bring it back to the shop where you have more time
Really cool. I wanna try this.

the world record is 12 minutes .... 2 hours ... professional .... HEYEAH RITE
How to crack a safe without being detected when you fail: BREAK THE SIRENS AND ALERT SYSTEM
I doubt you have a couple hours during a robbery.
You can also open one using a few rounds of a .50cal BMG rounds
This guy is perfect for my italian job
Hire a professional lock smith
+David Auge lol wow, why do people post comments when they have no clue wtf they are talking about. I'm a locksmith, I drill safes, open locks, doors, open cars when people are locked out. We're not limited to busting into high school kids lockers idiot.
+Blind I'm a locksmith as well..people really have no clue what they talk about.
I am not a locksmith, but I am a professional - opening many different locks in seconds or minutes. I do this for a living. in the middle of the night... :)
Adriana Kuzmikova, and when you wake up, how do you feel?
My uncle could do this with those small locker combination locks. He'd just put it to his ear and have it open within minutes.
True, but there's actually some explosives that blow the door up without damaging anything else.
I'm gonna need to rent jason for the day
You just have to be a genius locksmith as well
I need to do this!! Just need a stethascope!!!
he gets payed by the hour bro, he was planning on taking 6 hours, but the producer started getting suspicious.
Wow. That is awesome.
McJuggerNuggets needs to see this!
Next level is the S&G 8400 and 8500.
That doesn't work for most locks, unless you're trying to break through a door.
+McJuggerNuggets you need to check this video
I don't think he forgot to mention any information aside from the fact you can't go back to try again you must start over everytime you miss the gap ...
wtf is that secret information he said he left out ?
I want to know how much faster he can crack it if he can use any method he wants.
R/whatsinthisthing now you better open that safe!
well yea you give me a drill like that and I can crack one too but so far I'm just at the lock picking stage of my criminal career
If it has not glass re-locker or hard plate it could be easily drilled from the front. Otherwise you would have to drill from the top, sides, or back and use a scope to try to figure out the combination through the change key opening
Without the bloody narrator, this could actually be somewhat enjoyable. However, very little information is given to the viewer.
Christoph Michelbach who said the narrator was bloody?
They don't want you to know how to do this stuff
Lvl100 lockpick
Not a wasted skill after all
Good thing my safe is digital lock only
lol i feel bad for the interviewer
aren`t these kind of locksmiths vulnerable from bad guys...
COOL I HAVE TO TRY THIS.
guys..he looks like jack vale
whos here cos of wolfgang from sense 8?
I'm here because of Quest for Glory 1! :D
Might have been quicker had he put the stethoscope in his ears the correct way.
If he's open the safe with just a stethoscope and sound why does he have a big magnifying glass Aimed at the dial
Eddie Van Halen of safecrackers
I'll give you 3 days man. Still don't think you could do it.
"nah it was loads of silver". I'm sure he was told to say that hah.
shows more interest than you watching you tube videos for 2.5 hours
I'M TRAINED NOW COMING TO A HOUSE NEAR U
if jason doesn't usually use a stethoscope, what does he use?
McJuggerNuggets
This video can help you crack that safe for ya, find out this guy's details and you will have everything back
Depends.
I would brag, that a machine would in fact even be able to do it in 24 hours. Its just a matter of price.
Anyone else locked out of a safe and are trying to figure out how to get it open... no... nobody... alright
Can't complain when you getting paid.

I honestly want to know how he did it. I want to know the method.
2 1/2 hours go check out Jeff sitar 5 mins safe cracking
That was his first attempt. I am sure with practice and not in front of a camera crew, he could have done it faster.
Then risk damaging what's inside, which ruins the entire point of breaking into a safe.
What..?
@@gregoryfenn1462 good question
The drill they show is a stone drill. no way to drill any metal with it
2 hours is definitely too sluggish
i have a feeling the show wasnt paying him by the hour...
dear FBI, i'm watching this because i'm making a movie where a lady opens a safe, not because i want to rob my neighborhood loan shark
If you did you wouldn't be the robber.
Why is he using a 5 dollar stethoscope?
Bust that, Mythbusters.
cool!
what they don't show you he got paid very nicely 100k for doing it
Why not just using acetylene torch?
But he is no Jeff Sitar.
No graph righting down possible codes , his known the combo or just guessed possible ones , you could drill that plate door tin box open in 10 minutes and scope the change key .
Lots of Locksmiths are able to do it without graphing it after years of practice. I feel like I would forget the numbers
Iam sure it ain't easy and it took 21/2 hours, of persistence by a professional
isnt it a LITTLE BIT time consuming when it took him 2.5 hours? what are the chances that a thief will have that much time just to open one safe?
They're just illustrating to viewers that it is possible to manipulate safe dials
Adriana Kuzmikova, well, the thief(s) do their homework and wait until someone goes on vacation.
Damn JuggerNuggets xD
tell Jesse now
Easiest way:blow it the fuck up
2 1/2 hours lol think the fuzz woulda busted you by then
Nice good ear man
Well he got paid
Drill it! The American way! ;)
lol
it might involve explosives
To prove a myth!
people work 4x that amount of time get half the pay
