I admire how brave you guys are to ride all the big dunes. I go in my Tacoma , stay in the easiest areas, and love watching all of you guys. Maybe one day Ill try it in a quad but it looks totally risky.
Thank you. My friend Ray taught me everything. It’s definitely a lot of fun riding the dunes on quads or atv’s in general. You should try at least once. If like riding out on the dunes in your Tacoma you’ll love riding a atv. Maybe one day we’ll see you out there.
Brings back good memories. To be honest, Pismo dunes sucks if you're an experienced rider...the dunes are tiny compared to Glamis, Coos Bay, and Sand Mountain, Nv. I stopped going to Pismo in 2007, there were way to many drunks on bikes acting like idiots (subsequently the police force was up everyone's ass). The medivac helicopter was seen daily. It's an amazing place to party, but for serious riding, there's much better places.
I agree that places like Glamis or Coos Bay are better places for more experienced riders. I went to Glamis and it was a blast. Oceano dunes is the closest beach to me. And the only place where I can combine riding/camping/beach in one spot. It’s a combination of my 3 favorite things to do. So Oceano dunes to me is pretty awesome.
Hi Charley, I work for FOX26 News and are working on a story today regarding the Oceano Dunes. We would love to air this awesome video! Does FOX26/Sinclair broadcasting have permission to use this video in all broadcasting platforms with courtesy credits? I just need a yes or no confirmation. Thank you so much!
@@serenaholmes5192 you have to bring your own. I heard that you can rent atv’s from the local companies but you would have to pick them up yourselves and bring it to the beach. They’re not allowed to rent them out on the beach yet.
Went there yesterday but I hit there around 8. The line wasn’t too bad. Don’t know when they run out of atv passes but I’m pretty sure you’ll get in if you get there by 10-11. They’re limiting 1,000 atv’s per day.
I honestly never driven a buggy but from what I heard they are really bouncy. I would rather rent a RZR if that’s the case. I’ve rented quads from them before and the prices are pretty reasonable.
@give me name ideas..... Deaths per year are completely random. 5 in 08, 0 in 2017, 7 in 2019, etc. It's not getting more dangerous and that's pretty low considering how many people visit annually. It's purely a political "flex" from the ruling party due to the dune culture generally leaning the other direction.
Well done video. I live in Nipomo and us locals forget the dunes are even there. Have fun while your here, be safe and enjoy.
Thank you. My family and I enjoy oceano dunes and the surrounding towns every time we go there.
Accidentally watched the intro in 2x playback speed and its hilarious. Anyway, good vid! I miss Pismo.
I've thought for YEARS (15-20) that I'd love to experience Pismo Beach dunes.
This video cured me of that. I'll scratch that place off my list.

Great video! can't wait to get out there!
2:59 these things are dangerous! Once saw a guy pin it into one of those, and basically cased the other side of the bowl 😬
Are the day passes first come first serve ?

Yes you have my permission. Sorry I replied using my other UA-cam account.
Nice guys, Where are you guys from?
I’ll be there next month thanks for this video
hi there! can i ask what camera and equipment u used for this video? thanks
GoPro 8 black on the helmet, GoPro 7 black on the rear of the quad and DJI Mini 2 for the drone shots.
Three years left before they close forever.
Why 3 years
Why?
Hey, quick question, are they checking the motorcycle registration when you walk in?
If it’s a dirt bike no.
4 turdy are u from.california or the u.p. of Michigan lol
I’ll give you a hint. My state flag is flown at the end.
I need to make a trip...
Around what time do you recommend getting there? To get in line @7?
I think they sell out of passes around noon. So get there before then.
So your saying we can just show up and if their is less than 1000 people they will let you in???
Yes
@@KauaiianTunda do we have to transport the atv’s ourselves or is that done for us ?

Does it fill up fast? They are limiting how many people at a time

Is it only atvs allowed
Hey quick question. Are they checking OHV registration when you enter?
They don’t check. They just count how much you got. The limit is 1,000 per day.
I got a ticket there last year for unregistered ATV. They did not check at the gate but pulled me over once in there I paid a $350 ticket
First time. Recommend 4x4 atv or 2x4 buggy (sun buggy prowler or marauder)?!

Going on Saturday for first time
how many cc?
660
Hey what's the company's name for ATV rentals?
Steve’s, sun buggies, BJ’s and Arnie’s.
@@KauaiianTunda thanks!
They rip you off
@@xmo552 how so?
Hawaiiannnnn
Yessah!!!
Unfortunately the dunes will be shutting down for good within the next 2-3 years.
Why?
