    Creative makes and has made really decent stuff in the past. We used to use a creative audigy pc breakout box in the studio back in the late 90s early 00s. Before gigasampler creative was using something call sound fonts which were freakin awesome at the time for anyone doing in the box production. This doesnt surprise me one bit. The form factor reminds me of universal audio a bit with the shape and ergonomics of it. Nice piece!!

      And, I think Creative made the sound blaster sound cards for PCs. I think my first card with SPDIF and TOSLINK I/O was from Creative.

    hello there I love your content.
    what is the best portable audio interface to be used with smartphones and an SM7DB. preferably one with a monasterio mix switch as well as a TRS input for backing tracks and or music players.
    planning on using it to live stream music covers on Facebook Instagram TikTok etc. so having the feed on both left and right channels would be much appreciated.
    stay healthy and cheers from a blind subscriber in the Philippines!
    edit: a TC helicon Mic Mechanic 2 analog vocal processor will be used in between the SM7DB and the audio interface. the TCMM2 itself has automatic gain which sadly cannot be disabled. so having an interface with the lowest pre-amp noise possible would be amazing for gain staging.
    as an aside, I like using the TCMM2 because I am legally blind and therefore do not have the capability of using DAWs in order to add vocal effects to my live performances. so essentially having a guitar pedal but one made for vocalists is a godsend for me.

      Man thats tough.
      The roland GO is an option - amzn.to/3U4wb3K
      The donner livejack M - hard to find, but a great option
      The zoom AMS 22...not great but it does have the functions you seek - amzn.to/43N3zyV

    I didn't think that Creative (sound blaster) still existed...24 bit, I think you didn't mention it... For stereo, agree with you, but I would suggest a knob pan below each input level knob. It's more pleasant in stereo to hear two people on a stereo video depending on their positioning in relation to the video framing. I highly appreciate this on the little desktop crap its xenyx q802 usb. Thank you and really surprised to see this creative(ly) come out... You're pulling rabbits out of your hat for us. Interesting. THANKS.

    I absolutely love this device the time that I've had it, but there is one thing that I don't like about it, but I think it's a driver issue. This device prevents my screensaver from activating.

    Looks interesting, unfortunately, no additional outputs makes it quite limited. Balanced TRS goes to monitors and there is no way to further process the signal from the PC. I would rather exchange the second headphone out for that.

    Can you recommend a good audio interface with good monitoring and ultra-low noise with 48v for the condenser microscope? Thank you

    • @ObscureMics
      @ObscureMics  Місяць тому +1

      This for one. Honestly its hard to NOT go for one of the name brands, even on the cheap end, as interfaces are mostly great these days

    Similar in form design to the SSL 2+ which is my go-to with some pros and cons. I like how they put the headphone jacks in the front - don't understand why SSL did not do the same. I don't like how Creative only has one phantom power switch and they place the switch in the back. Creative also puts the Line/Inst switches in the back. SSL has separate +48 switches for their mic pres and they place both the phantom power and Line/Inst switches on the deck of the unit which is super convenient. But, you pay $100 more for the SSL. Agree that the A3 could stand to have more headroom. Other than that, looks pretty sweet. Good value.
