you should have changed the sequencing of the clips to:
her running slide to her in class right to him in class, then down to his paper.
it flows more that way which is why when you go from him to her is the strongest transition because it gives a sense of space.
i do like the slide transitions. they are really good.

In the sapphires plugins, there's a plugin called "s_shake" and you use this plugin to add small or big shake effects on the clip you're using, did this help?

alrighty , So for anyone who is confused at Where she / he moves 6 frames backwards from her other clip basically all you gotta do is , drag your cursor untill the end , where the other clip is visible in your preview , move 3-5 frames back and add a keyframe, go to the last keyframe ( where the other clip is ) go one frame back and add a keyframe and from then on you got it :) reply for more questions
