@@livinginidaho We want to move there hopefully by the end of the year, but I believe your home prices are way too high! So unless the prices come down we may shift and move to The Woodlands TX. The average home price vs the average income is not even close in the Treasure Valley.

I lived in Boise. But I must have lived there when it was in a drought. The whole time I lived there (approx.10 years) I only remember a couple of snowstorms. The worst snowstorm happened the day I was moving. That day there was at least 12" of snow. But the inversions are real.

Just spent over 3 weeks in Boise, first up in Hyde Park, then down around 7th and Franklin, just starting to get a feel for the summers and what the city and area was about. Been looking there for decades, but got serious just before COVID (should have bought then!). But we will be back in October'ish to get a feeling for Fall, then probably January to see what winter is like. We like in AZ (though I was born in Buffalo) so we will keep a small place here, but want to spend as much time in Boise if that is where we end up. Appreciate the videos and all. Cheers.

Can you make a video on the highlands? I’m interested in the area and am hoping to move this summer. I love the outdoors and have 2 kids who also are growing to love the outdoors as well. Being close to everything outdoors is super important to me. Thanks for all the information you share!

The highlands is on my list. It’s a great area where you’re close to everything.
What are you wanting to know about the area? Anything specific?

@@livinginidaho As a father I think I’m most interested in the schools, family activities, average price of homes, if there’s homes to rent, and an overview of the community. A driving tour would be awesome too, although I’m sure that’s hard to accomplish.
I think a series about different neighborhoods, the way you do them about the cities would be awesome!

Appreciate the video on what it looks like in the winter with snow ❄️. Personally the snow seems to make everything look clean and nice. You can always dress warm. However it might be nicer to be inside warm with a good book. Looks good to me. Thanks for the video.

It honestly depends on where you are. The lowlands can be snowfree all winter while the mountains are treacherous

One thing to consider is that Boise is not great about snow removal. Even though it doesn't snow much, every year it seems there is one large snowfall that really shuts things down and they only have enough plows to get to the main roads cleared quickly. It seems like neighborhood streets can take several days to finally get cleared. I grew up in Salt Lake City where, unless it was measured in feet, the snow was always cleared from the roads within a couple hours.

I appreciate the information, I do live here in people's republic of California sorry lol sarcasm I'm learning so much about Boise Idaho very tempting to move their soon. I just gotta come up with a good job. The housing option not the greatest idea but affordability is to go into mobile home or manufactured home.

Have you done a video about medical/hospitals? Good healthcare is a must for us retired people.

What question can I answer in the video that would be most helpful to you?

We want to escape from California. Right now, we have Kaiser. We would have to switch to Blue Shield or something like that. Is the Healthcare good, and where would you recommend the retired community live so they don't have to drive a long distance, especially in bad weather.

Everything you need for basic healthcare is available here. There may be times where you need a specific specialty and might want to get a consult somewhere larger like Seattle (happens in oncology often) but generally the treatment plan can be carried out here. The wait times can be a little longer to get into appointments for specific doctors because the growth of the Valley's population has not quite matched the growth of physicians and providers here. But most people find everything they need to be available.
In terms of recommending where to live, why don’t you shoot me a text or give me a call. We can learn what’s important to you, what kind of lifestyle you’re looking for and any specific hospitals you’d prefer to be near.
Call or text me here (208) 264-3211

When it snows in Boise, stay off the freeway as the Californians are sliding off the road and into other cars, in fact stay off any major road , as you will be likely slammed into.
