Not a huge GM fan. But to many Z owners who actually owned one of these loosie goosie Z cars... This is one amazing car and I hope there will be more. Worth watching out for.
It's a shame this car got destroyed. It was a beauty.
I dont say things like this lightly. I LOVE my Porsches.. classics, and new alike.. but wow.. this Datsun is something that deserves so much love. It a shame that cars like this dont get made anymore by manufacturers.

I think the only thing I would do differently is that there would be a RB26 rather than the sr20

dont see why people hate the 2+2 so much
I personally don't mind that much, but the reason is because it makes the car heavier and longer, therefor the handling is worse. Also, the seats in the back have pretty much no leg room, so they basically have no purpose and it makes you wonder why they are even there...

They should build more jdm cars would love to them build a Supra or drift car maybe a 240sx
The problem with building a Supra is the high cost to acquire them, unless you mean a MK2 or 3. A nice JDM MK3 would be gorgeous. I bought an MK3 about 2 weeks ago, needs work but wanted to get one before the prices started rising.

Just watched this episode on tv, was looking forward to the "twin turbo" they said they would do. Must have missed how they did that on an SR20 🤔 😂
Absolutely gorgeous car though.
The tune seems to need some work as it misfires here and there but other than that, this is one of the best cars you have ever build.

LOL right, in the middle of the shift... Tune needs some work, dunno if the pump is getting enough pressure for this big turbo...
Janne Kokko that is not rev limiter that is definitely loss of either fuel pressure or something in the computer, you’re right definitely needs a tune up.
Really gotta day this was an amazing build and seeing all that was put into it even someone not into Japanese cars can appreciate this, great work guys! Now you need to build some crazy bmw or Mercedes lol

Its a shame that car burnt to a crisp. Dude bought it and had it shipped to his house. On the way the transport caught fire.
Sr14 transmission huh maybe s14? Sweet looking car bet it's fun to drive
325iskarnage right even if it was a s14 all the 5 speeds ka and sr are the same with different bell housings, minus the 6speed in the s15. Gear ratios bit different along with final drive but unless your on a track you cant tell.

I LOVE this car but HATE the color. Ive had a few of these, they are fun to drive. Ive also had a few datsun 2000's they have full frame so you can imagine what you can do with that tee hee

Should have kept the L28 engine, but with Jenvey ITB or triple DCOE 45 webers, but other wise nice work.

It's a sick ride but you have to consider that's more expensive than a GTR with the amount of money put in, now yeah I do realize it's a one off but still god damn expensive, you get burned by a sleeper at a quarter of the price.
4 cylinder in a Z?? Makes no sense all Z's are 6 cylinders should have RB26 swapped it.

There are 350 swaps..... But although the GM ego is unbearable and GM boss has no friends or people who might eat dinner with him... GM boss even goes to the zoo alone these days......This is an amazing million dollar ride.

The Z's in Japan came with a 4 cylinder motor & the inline 6 was actually their truck motor that was used only for the U.S. production of the Z's. Nissan corporate did not want the Z to succeed in America & repeatedly tried to sabotage it. Look up the history of the datsun 240z in america and see all the bullshit Mr. Z went through to bring that car to the states. (I've owned 4 Z's)

exactly what was imported that totalled 80k? for less than HALF THAT they could have imported an ACTUAL NISSAN SKYLINE R33 GTR and swapped over the entire drivetrain had an awd skyline powered rb26.. not that cookie cutter stuff

Optimas are not that great like they were 10 years ago they are not fully 100% American made anymore get an interstate don't they own Opitma now?
I would have went with the American muscle body kit but still this is a sick ass build. Much Respect 👏

このタイヤサイズでパワステ無しはかなり辛い、ワゴンR用を改造した（市販化されている）パワステ付けたらいいのにね。あと、ハイカム入れていないみたいでシングルターボを回しきれていない。ここはツインターボでしょう。S14NISMOGTタービンがお勧めかな。（古くてゴメソ）

only one mistake should have been an RB30DET!!!! these motors are rubbish in my country we pull them straight out and run actual motors Rb25DEWT RB26DET and RB30DET!!!! i am in NEW ZEALAND btw :) besides the s%#t box motor which clearly hardly runs... te rest of the car is absolutly beautiful very nice work!!

$ 120,000.00 into the build. Way to much money. They will be lucky to get $ 60,000.00 for the car. Good way to lose $ 60,000.00. But it is a beautiful car. But to me to, the engine don't sound right. Sounds like it is missing.
First off I do like the car looks good but $100k SEMA build and you put an SR in it instead of RB26.. and the SR obviously still needs work done on the tune... cool car but gotta do better than that!
I can hear bad working at 3rd and 4rth gear. Check sparks maybe?
I posted a previous comment about the odo only having 5 digits, which it does. But I think you guys did an outstanding job 100 percent (forgot to mention that). I've been a fan since '12 when the show came out and I have been waiting for you all to do an S30z! It looks perfect and thanks for keeping the S30z from the scrap yard. GYSOT
I like what Gas Monkey does. I like what a lot of builders do. But when you take a 13K classic and dice it up like this... it's not the money that's stupid.

Lol 80k to make 500hp. Had a 72 naturally aspirated made 475hp for a lot less than that. What a freakin money pit.
I prefer the 240z than the 280z even though they both are similar cz the 240z is lighter which is an advantage.

The best care ever done, wish I could own. So outta your depth when you started this but what a high end car. Would not swap for anything.

the four-seaters are the road racers' choice. its all about high-speed cornering- and not having to sit on the rear axle.

I like it a lot.. this and the f40 and Ford Gt are my fav.. the misfire could easily be remedied by simple tuning I’m sure they know that.
you guys had me til I saw the 4 cylinder in place of the 6. The SR20 is a GREAT engine for the right car........ but dropping it in a Z.......? LAME Guess you guys never heard of the RB26.
Only thing I would have done would be a 82 turbo as engine. But that's me.
