  • How to raise and lower a DAF truck cabin safely.
DAF cabins have a manually operated hydraulic pump that is located behind the cabin. Take the wheel brace/jack bar out of the left-hand locker box. The slotted end of the jack bar fits on the cabin tilt pumps' direction tap.
    To raise the cabin:
    1. Turn the cabin tilt pumps' direction tap in a clockwise direction against the spring pressure until it locks into the upwards position.
    2. Insert the jack bar into the pump's pumping mechanism holder.
    3. Manually pump the cabin until it is fully tilted.
You will notice that as soon as the cabin passes its natural point of balance, the force of gravity gradually tilts the cabin further forward without additional pumping.
Its' worth noting that you can stop raising the cabin at any time by turning the pump's direction tap in an anti-clockwise direction till it locks into the downwards position.
To lower the cabin back to the driving position, turn the pump's direction tap to the downwards position. Then insert the jack bar into the pump's pumping mechanism holder and commence pumping. When the cabin passes the centre of gravity, it will naturally fall back into the catch.
When the catch engages, the cabin is automatically locked. Leave the pump's direction tap in the downwards position.
If for any reason, the cabin does not lock in the driving position, a "Cabin Lock Open" warning is visible on the master display.

If the pump kicks back on you and the cab is difficult to raise ,remove the pump remove the bung small spring and tap the small bearing
