And when I had enough of the bottom, God pulled me up back to him, I cant describe the longing I had for Jesus. But the felony I was facing is cleared off my record now. Im building my life back up now but keeping God priority, I thank him daily for all he's done and pray that he'll continue to guide me closer to Him. Just received my CDL 2 weeks ago, I work for a trucking company, and will soon have my own truck. I take credit for none of it, if it weren't for Jesus id be who knows where.

At 19 I turned away from God mostly because I stopped seeking him and was attracted by the things of the World. I was not living for God at all and went right back to living the way I wanted. We've adopted this word "Backsliding" but you can call it whatever might closely identify with choosing not to live any longer for Christ. I did come back to the faith and I do believe I was saved when I was 12. I also believe when I wasn't serving God that my salvation was in jeopardy and I felt like that inside. I felt cold to the things of God and didn't have any relationship with Him. I also dont think we should disregard feelings. As long as feelings aren't the thing we look to the most and yes hold the scriptures to the highest regard ❤️🙏

I believe Christians Can Slip ,but they will be called back ..God will test them until their Faith is Strengthened , until they Completely surrender ,with complete Trust in God !! Interesting study. I think a good follow-up would be a teaching on what is a ‘carnal Christian’ and how that person is not a backslider. Most Christians I know (myself included) always lumped those two titles together, when you drift away from the Lord and live in the flesh for a season. The proverbial ‘prodigal son’.

You are right in the sense that as long as we are on this earth, we'll always fall short/commit a sin every once in a while. Is it not important to take the Bible for what it says though? At one point the focus was simply Israel and Gentiles were basically irrelevant. God gave rules and said things solely pertaining to Israel. When He adopted us, He gave rules meant for us through the apostles. Israel and the Church are one but separate. There is a distinction. Going back over it and seeing the Greek/Hebrew translations can change the whole perception of that text. So yes we're all sinners til we go home but I believe it has to do with taking the Bible literal. Like the 5 Ws (Who is the writer and audience, why are they writing it, what is the subject and circumstances. etc), I think it's just context. Interesting, in the past, I assumed I was a backslider, sometimes I think I was an apostate. I don't know or think I am saved at times, I wonder at times if I am saved now or if I was saved and lost it.
Good morning, we are all saved it's just that some people won't come to grips with it or won't believe it. We are all saved through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ through faith= just believe and live our lives on earth as good as it is possible to be. ( Simple )

So to clarify that person wasn't saved in the first place,? I was stopped in my tracks years a go I can only explain it as answering his calling everything changed from that moment I didn't need a drink again I was reading meditating fellowshipping etc daily for 8 years I had a massive turn around, then out of nowhere I made a massive mistake and cheated on my wife which led to 3 years of things going drastically wrong, I felt I could never read the word again after what I'd done that I'd blown my chance I've been back in the word now for 3-month things have changed for the good if I wasn't saved at that time then I don't know what happened id never read Scripture etc or had any influence before my experience, going on your analysis that experience can't have been God?
Yes you can I fight with my flesh people can miss me with that. The other day our Lord comes we will always struggle with the flesh this is why we have a mediator. I have no convictions surrounding video games. I play constructive games like Minecraft since i like creating empires all the time. I called my new empire the empire of the black star. sounds cool right. I can create whatever I want in it. oh how I love playing in moderation as well since I could do many things like read the Bible and watch UA-cam videos and watch tv. and going out with my parents to eat good food. Using the work "backslide" is not helpful but talking about what is actually happening is perhaps more fruitful. I think to take the Old Testament and deal with it apart from the New Testament is a mistake. Things in the Old Testament are a shadow of things to come ie things in the New Testament Col 2:16-17. The Israel of the Old Testament is a shadow of the Israel of God Gal 6:16. What happened to earthly Israel is a shadow of what will happen to spiritual Israel. I will take the warnings of Apostle Paul to Timothy seriously. 1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit(not Paul) expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Israel of God can still depart. Please don't say these are not Christians, how can they depart from faith that they were never in, in the first place. Jesus tells believers to keep watch. Turn away from a life of a sinful heart and submit to a heart of God. Choose a pure heart instead of a sinful heart.
So was Israel faithless to begin with or did they have faith then became faithless? Did Jesus’s faith secure our faith and lack there of faith? Is this how we are held in Christ then?

Interesting, in the past, I assumed I was a backslider, sometimes I think I was an apostate. I don't know or think I am saved at times, I wonder at times if I am saved now or if I was saved and lost it.
Good morning, we are all saved it's just that some people won't come to grips with it or won't believe it. We are all saved through the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ through faith= just believe and live our lives on earth as good as it is possible to be. ( Simple )

So to clarify that person wasn't saved in the first place,? I was stopped in my tracks years a go I can only explain it as answering his calling everything changed from that moment I didn't need a drink again I was reading meditating fellowshipping etc daily for 8 years I had a massive turn around, then out of nowhere I made a massive mistake and cheated on my wife which led to 3 years of things going drastically wrong, I felt I could never read the word again after what I'd done that I'd blown my chance I've been back in the word now for 3-month things have changed for the good if I wasn't saved at that time then I don't know what happened id never read Scripture etc or had any influence before my experience, going on your analysis that experience can't have been God?
Yes you can I fight with my flesh people can miss me with that. The other day our Lord comes we will always struggle with the flesh this is why we have a mediator. I hate this subject because it belittles and condemns other true believers who want to be Christ like and some religious person condemns him because don't live like sit person man needs flash none of us can ever walk in God's shoes. I have no convictions surrounding video games. I play constructive games like Minecraft since i like creating empires all the time. I called my new empire the empire of the black star. sounds cool right. I can create whatever I want in it. oh how I love playing in moderation as well since I could do many things like read the Bible and watch UA-cam videos and watch tv. and going out with my parents to eat good food. I enjoy the simple things of life.i really don't care for parties or alcohol since those aren't part of the person that I am. remember that there's nothing wrong with a little fun. but there's nothing wrong with a little moderation as well.
FACT: Believers CAN lose their faith!!! Look up all the "if" verses in the Bible. Tons of them..."Whose house we are IF we continue firm in the faith!!!" Once you turn away, nobody can help you. Let's all be careful to do what we can do to stay strong and not fall. By the way, please understand the church for 2000 years has not made a difference between the Bride of Christ and Israel. That is a very recent (only 100 years ago) theological adventure. It is not true. There is only one Bride, it's the church, and all of us believers in Christ are the new Israel. Using the work "backslide" is not helpful but talking about what is actually happening is perhaps more fruitful. I think to take the Old Testament and deal with it apart from the New Testament is a mistake. Things in the Old Testament are a shadow of things to come ie things in the New Testament Col 2:16-17. The Israel of the Old Testament is a shadow of the Israel of God Gal 6:16. What happened to earthly Israel is a shadow of what will happen to spiritual Israel. I will take the warnings of Apostle Paul to Timothy seriously. 1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit(not Paul) expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Israel of God can still depart. Please don't say these are not Christians, how can they depart from faith that they were never in, in the first place. Jesus tells believers to keep watch. There is no such thing as a carnal christian, no such thing as a backsliding christian. The Bible , NT never speaks of adjective christians. It’s a work of the Holy Spirit , complete. There are stages of the Christian walk- 1 John 2:14 I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Backslider= to relapse into bad ways or error. So Christian=professing christianity or its teachings. Profess= to claim. Christianity =religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ taught who he chose to preach the gospel and a great teacher was and still is Jesus Christ. Now man is teaching as if Jesus Christ chose us. And all of this is why so called Christian's can backslide= relapse into bad ways or error. Christianity is more man made=natural than spiritual handed down from generation to generation. We are told to believe, not to claim=force, assert. Nobody has anything to prove, God certainly doesn't have to prove anything to us so just believe and live as good as you possibly can.❤ 😊
