    Omg. Some people are just plain mean. You don't have to eat it. I am wondering how often do you make bisque from scratch , if ever? I think her point was it comes together quick and easy and tastes like you made scratch. Go make a pot of soup and share with someone. Maybe that would be good for your soul.

I think the soup sounds phenomenal but I know unless I make gallons it's not going to feel fill up hungry boys. Any good ideas? And Baja to the naysayers. Not all recipes need to be made from scratch.

    • @anakelly76512

      I would eat this soup with a crusty piece of buttered French or Italian bread. Or maybe make it into garlic bread.
      Great for dipping.
      When I eat hearty, cream based soups, I like pairing it with acidity. Like sliced and marinated tomato and onion salad. Or even a simple salad: lettuce, tomatoes, croutons or toasted nuts and a tangy vinaigrette.
      That vinegar helps cut through all the richness.
      Sometimes, I have a fruit salad afterwards. 🍓🍍🍇 with honey and lemon juice. Maybe a little sweetened greek yogurt.
      Or maybe some type of melon: honeydew or cantaloupe.
      I like having something light if I had something heavy.
      Cream soups are pretty heavy.

    • @anakelly76512
      @anakelly76512 2 роки тому +2

      I agree.
      I have an immersion blender/whisker.
      It has 'legs' to protect whatever appliance you're blending in from the sharp, powerful blades.
      I use it right in the pots I'm cooking in. Safer than transferring all that boiling hot food to the stand blender.
      You just plunge the stick blender in and blend away.
      That's why they call it an IMMERSION blender. 😄

    Surprised that Paula wouldn't use a fresh shrimp stock made with the shells of shrimp, since shrimp are plentiful on the coast. Using cream of celery soup is definitely a shortcut, but I prefer the fresh shrimp stock and a roux, controlling the amount of sodium. I also use a dollop of sour cream in my recipe.

    Definitely trying this it takes along time to make real bisque and you need tons of shells to make the seafood stock

    • @stacey5925
      @stacey5925 2 роки тому +4

      Actually, if you buy a pound of shell-on shrimp, that would be enough to make 4 quarts, or one gallon of stock. You can also freeze the shells allowing to accumulate enough if you only use shrimp every now and then. After putting in the few other seasoning ingredients and veggies, it only takes about an hour. Overcooking a fish stock tends to make it strong and "fishy", which you don't want.

    Paula at least demonstrate how to boil the shrimp, devine them, and peel them. You literally had a commenter say she could not tell if your shrimp were cooked or raw. She decided they were raw. YIKES!
    Canned soups come in handy for casseroles and a hot bowl of soup but not for shrimp bisque.
