I hope that North fans get around Darling and celebrate his 300th. I realise that they won't be invested in him as WC fans would be but 300 is a huge effort and deserves a celebration worthy of a 15 season veteran.

As your resident North fan Daz, "Bravo" for hitting the nail on the head, Darling & Parker are a great investment for Norths future, both on, and especially off the field, we can pick their brains for their leadership skills, attuites in training and provide the guidance our team need. A draft where we can get Armstrong, Trainor or even the like of Travaglia, Whitlock or Taru, Big ticks all round. PS Invite for you to a Roo's game next season :)

Not saying that North are going to that, but Darling and Parker are gonna help the kids towards the promise land in the future.
@thepoliticalloser one of the knocks on duursma is he is so talented he has been able to coast the whole way through his footy. Having him work with an absolute professional and training work horse like Darling will be incredible for his development

Great watch. 👍 It's interesting to try and analyse a club's strategy with who they might trade for and why. Also what picks they could end up with. I think you said it could be 6 and 17 for North's pick 2. In a very even draft I thick that's more than fair . I think North need to draft players with flexibility , defensive mindset and physical presence. Tauru ? Travaglia ? Lalor ? ..... Looking forward to your next vid .
Speaking of development it was so great to see Michael barlow win development coach of the year, for a team brimming with as much young, raw talent as north melbourne, having the best development coach is massive..
Good video Daz. I'm starting to come around a bit on the Darling trade, but I don't like that North would be paying his full salary because he is on huge money on a back ended contract. At the very least West Coast should be paying the overs on what the salary would be if it was averaged out. Interesting that you mentioned Willem Duursma because I was hoping that North could draft him in 2025 to join up with his brother. If North do manage to get #6 and 9 or 13 for #2, I wonder if it would be worthwhile to use #6 to trade for Houston, particularly as Port have stated that if he was to be traded that they want a good pick in this year's draft. If North isn't going after elite midfield talents in the draft, it may not matter a great deal to have slightly later picks. I don't think that Caleb Daniels would require a future 2nd rounder to bring in. If that is the price it is too steep and I'd be passing. Us long suffering North fans are looking forward to finally seeing some real improvement, but we have been disappointed too many times to get our hopes up too high. I do think Parker will be enormous in helping the club move forward. He is still a quality player and a quality leader.
A fit Griff Logue and another pre-season into Chomben and Wil Dawson, will be huge. The media talks as if North has neglected the backline, in recent trade/draft periods. That isn't the case, at all. Now with Comben and Archer flourishing, things will start to click. The squibs will be phased out, purely as depth/insurance. Jay Dahlhaus from Werribee VFL is one to watch. Good pressure small forward, who can snag a few goals.
1. The report from media is Jack darlings final year contract at the Eagles is for 800k which is why they want to move him on. The apparent agreement is Eagles pay half north pays half and they'll get pick 64 (as it stands) so north isn't even spending alot of salary cap when the average something like 230k. 2. They need to draft a tall forward for the future... like zane duursma who's already on their list? 3. Went to a north training day and every player I spoke to said Paul curtis is the strongest player in the team..... once they learn to leave him 1 out like dusty watch him destroy his opponent. 4. The growth this year didn't come from the team overall but it did come from combden, Archer, Powell xerri and mckercher. 5 players who are now instant starting 22 that you add to the likes of larkey, zurhaar, sheezel, wardlaw, ldu and simpkin (just). The next step is to find the next 3-4 players that step up to that next level of ability. 5. Houston would be a very good get but I just don't see it happening. Carlton have an inside track with both his relationship with Voss, the bigger club and more successful right now. North can't give up pick 2 for him, any other pick except pick 2. 6. Not sold on Caleb Daniel, just don't see who he replaces especially if north by miracle lands Houston. Do you see Daniel pushing out fisher? Mckercher? Houston? Goater? Who all play in that spot.... yes he's a great kick but just feel he won't add that much compared to the other targets. 7. North need to get their long term injured players right! Goater and Callum Jones done their Achilles goater is a great defender when fit and ccj needs to exist as a backup ruck along with teakle for if xerri goes down hurt. Brayden George has been injured for 2 years straight now but has a huge reputation as being a top 5 worthy pick and griffin logue needs to get through a season to really shore up defence. North have ALOT of pieces but making them all fit together right now is the biggest issue, if they can come together I can see them winning 6-9 games next year but another 2-3 win season will destroy the club forever if that happens.

As a Swans fan i think your spot on in saying roughly #40 is Parker's value. Could Sydney be cheeky as ask for North's F4 on top as a little top up because although that pick will most likely start at #58-60 it will imo easily come inside the points range and potentially climb all the way into 40-45 by the time that the 2025 "match" draft gets the 2nd or 3rd Swans academy lad called out
LDU polling 18 Brownlow votes was pretty impressive in a side with 3 wins. If Houston is gettable, North should throw the kitchen sink at him. A backline with Corr and McDonald is going to continue to leak like a sieve. Parker is a great in, and Darling cost nothing. So nothing to lose there. Caleb Daniel is a reliable utility, I would not be unhappy if he ended up in the blue and white. The best time for North supporters is between seasons, speculating about how we might improve. Our prospects for 2025 are largely dependent on Logue and Comben staying on the park, and taking intercept marks. Dylan Stephens and Jaidyn Stephenson should be shown the door.
Kinnear Beatson, Sydney’s arrogant head recruiter (who should be sacked along with “sports psychologist” Emma Murray), picked Dylan “Dud” Stephens at #5 ahead of Caleb Serong and Hayden Young. I was so glad when Sydney finally traded/sacked soft players like him and Ryan Clarke. North should also sack Zak Fisher, another dud …
@@ma3stro681 Agree D Stephens is soft. He pulled out a contest this year that cost us a goal. Disagree with Fisher, I think he is a good ball mover. But I haven't seen a great deal of him.
Great stuff mate, very good take and done with lots of respect and good analysis. Easy from the cheap seats for most North bashers, landing Houston would be huge but not holding my breath on that. Goater and Coleman Jones to be back in the mix for 2025 also, the former was very impressive in the small number of games he has played at AFL level.

@@daztalksfooty Very talented mate, but he had to get a little bit of a rocket during the season re: his training work ethic. Update reports are he has turned this around and is putting on some serious size.
Talked a lot of sense today Daz. I would just add North HAVE to use their first pick on Best Key Forward. They cant HOPE to trade for a star forward they have early picks every year its time they use one on someone 6"4 or bigger.

I made a prediction Last night that North will play finals before Gold Coast. Based of what you said North have a path forward and the way Gold Coast are going the plan they have is back Dimma and hope for a miracle. So even though Gold Coast right now have finished higher than North and they probably will in 2025 as well, I do think North will play finals before Gold Coast
CCJ is a list clogger who will never get another AFL gig as soon as his contract at North runs out. I doubt he'll ever get a game in the AFL team again.
Darling will prove the doubters wrong, Parker is a win regardless, they will miss out on houston but thats ok, Caleb Daniel would be good if they can get him, hes a great ball user, but sorry to say this, L Mac has to step down from his co captaincy, hes not at senior level, and hes protected by being captain, dont forget bout Zane Duursma, his shoulder was a hinderence this season, he'll be much better
It all comes down to Matt Whitlock, if he can take the second key tall forward position, then that frees up Larkey and gives defensive pressure forward which North greatly lack. Only hassle in the midfield is if Bailey Scott gets injured, because he's the unseen ball handler of North and their entire running connection. Down back it's Jackson Archer (tackler) and Charlie Combden (intercept mark) without them Aidan Corr goes to sleep down back and gets swamped. Midfield has so many young guns it ain't funny.
North are definitely on the right track. Although, I can't see why Richmond would trade 6 and 13 (assuming they get those picks) in such an even draft. Tigers need a Harry Artmstrong type more than North given Lynch is cooked. Saying all that, I genuinely just realised you are Centre Half Bench are different people, so what do I know.
Had North not recruited anyone going into season 2025, they would have one had 1 player having played 200+ games. That being Luke Mcdonald which would suck donkey ass for any team. Us going for experienced players is an A++ move for them!
Luke “The Anvil” Parker should be made Captain. Good luck to him. The soft Swans have lost their hardest player, something the GF showed they are completely bereft of …
I feel like when North turn this around, the AFL pulic and mainstream media are going to think it came from nowhere. Like Clarko worked an overnight miracle. North fans get to some degree what the coaches were doing this year, and we will be better next year, with some handy additions. But, for the love of god, draft a key forward, Brady.
Losing Houston and receiving a future 1st only weakens Port next year and how strong is the 2025 draft, think Port want a pick in this years draft which is very strong so I won't be surprised if Port reject Norths future 1st offer.North should trade pick 2
- What's the point of Darling protecting Larkey for 2 years? You aren't going to win anything in that period. It doesn't make sense and you didn't really address it beyond his role. - Powell is not a B+. He just isn't, being very generous there.
I see sam mitchell got caught talking to harry sheezel dont know what hes up to but its very interesting if he after him have you heard anything towards this .
Sheezal is one of the hottest young players in the comp, and like a hot as hell chick, you can talk to them all you like doesn’t mean you get to take her home!
Yeh, I dont think Darling should require a pick, he should come with a second round pick for taking his salary. I would be surprised if Houston or Daniel are at Arden st next year. Firstly Dogs will want too much for Caleb and Houston would prefer to be at Carlton. There’s plenty if rumours circulating as there always is at this time of year. There’s fan talk of Gary Rohan too. But I would like the Kangas to look at the VFL GF and pinch a small forward from Werribee in the supplementary draft. We have Curtis, HansenJunior and Payne. Would like to add another sub 180cm small forward to that list. I did like your opinion, good onya for saying something positive about our shit club. We’ve been kicked about for some time now and it is rather refreshing hearing positivity
Here’s hoping north create soemthing. Imagine if they were able to keep TT. You missed out on Ford too who is going to be a star. Paul Curtis already has a highlight reel as good as any forward, once he loses his bad temper he’ll be AA. Wouldn’t mind Caleb daniel, Houston, Rosas or any cheap defender to just bolster up the team. Griffin logue will be fit too.

You'd probably drop Jack Darling in the half-forward position where he can be vocally active and direct traffic.
Round 21 wasn't that long ago. Just go watch that to see what Darling can still do. Not every week but he still has beast mode.
Darling wasn't the only one, Tim Membrey is pretty good option as well.
Had North not recruited anyone going into season 2025, they would have one had 1 player having played 200+ games. That being Luke Mcdonald which would suck donkey ass for any team.
Us going for experienced players is an A++ move for them!
Couldn't agree more mate!

Thanks legend, welcome!
smart man
Luke “The Anvil” Parker should be made Captain. Good luck to him. The soft Swans have lost their hardest player, something the GF showed they are completely bereft of …
I'm a Massive Luke Parker Fan! He'd be a Fantastic, True Captain. The Exiting Twosome=NO!
Harry signed a long term deal last year. He is going nowhere.
Yeah we'd love to poach but the Sheez will be a Roo for life
Sheezal is one of the hottest young players in the comp, and like a hot as hell chick, you can talk to them all you like doesn’t mean you get to take her home!
And Matt Whitlock. Struth
If Daniel Joins North? Name Him & Parker Co-Captains.
Interesting. was in the Dogs' leadership group
Jack Darling is a ridiculous decision.
North will finish 17th next year. A terrible trade period. Grade D+
Feel sorry for Roos fans.
Can't agree with this
@@daztalksfooty Doesn't matter if you agree or not. Parker was the only decent trade. The rest are rubbish. Hopefully your club use pick 2 wisely.
Very sad humans it will take 100 years for roos to get too 10 premierships
61 and/or a F3 for Parker? 😂
That's not what I said though.
I said 40 or a future third
houston went to collingwood
Thanks Lyn!
Offering pick 62 for Parker is insulting to the Swans and to Parker. These cellar dwelling losers will still be bottom four next season.
Should see what similar veterans have gotten recently.

'Unto' themselves, peanut, not 'onto'. ffs the language is dead.
👍
I would get Kennedy from Carlton. Keep pick 22 cos there will be tall forwards and defenders around that pick.
Yeah I like Eddie, good size
