Lightsaber Forms Explained | Shii-Cho Form 1

  • Today we will be explaining lightsaber forms. Form 1 in particular also known as Shii- Cho. This was the first form crafted as the transition from swords to lightsabers became more common. Most of the same movements carried over into this initial form, however, while Form 1 was amazing against multiple foes, when it came to one on one saber combat Shii Choo unfortunately fell short leading to the development of 6 more lightsaber techniques.

Enjoy part one of this 7 part series of lightsaber forms. These are not heavy deep dives but more brief overviews. Up next will of course be Form II!
Also, I should clarify due to an error in my script: zone 4 is obviously more than the BACK, its also the entire midsection from either direction.

That reminds me of a girl I met after a haunted house experience. She introduced herself as Terri Allen. I thought she meant it as one name and it was so different. So beautiful. And it didn't help my scrambled brain from my first french kiss being just a few seconds before, that it didn't even register her brother was one of my good friends.
You can't have one name without the other and have it mean the same thing it did when you were locked in innocence. If you're talking about Kit, you're talking about Aunt Kit. If you're talking about Fisto, it sounds a bit perverted... and how is that even a real name?

I think of Form 1 as more of a creative blank slate, and choosing between it or another form really depends on how you prefer to learn things. All the other styles can trace their lineage back to Form 1 basics with the added perspective and ideas of some prolific master who added his or her own take to it. So the real question when choosing a form is, do I prefer to learn someone else's take on Form 1, or do I prefer to explore myself? The time spent learning a new style could be spent getting better at what you have. It's like Bruce Lee said "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Additionally, Shii Cho's emphasis on force attunement can only enhance a practitioner's flexes, precognition, and augmentation. It's totally the rout I'd go, with the addition of Ataru's kicks and agility.

Thanks for making this video. I think from what I've heard Cal Kestia is another note able practicioner of form one. Considering that jedi fallen order has a parry based combat system says enough. You can take some good examples from that. Cal uses a lot of disarming techniques and is notable for cutting off people's limbs like he did to the 9th sister on kashyyk. But he has made his own style by using basic combat with finishing blows. I'm hoping that when the second game comes out we get to see his with more refined saber skills considering he was a I'm hiding for 5 or 6 years not being able to practice.
