- Winning a World Championship deserves a custom bike, but winning your 10th World Championship? That deserves something really special, so we got together with Scott Bikes and came up with a Spark RC World Cup edition fitting for the man himself, Nino Schurter. The custom paint highlights every World Championship win with the year and location he won, with gold and rainbow stylings worthy only of those who proved themselves against the world's best. Nino piloted our new XX SL Eagle Transmission to his 10th victory, so it was fitting that this bike was built up with it. 4-piston Level Ultimate Stealth brakes keep the cockpit looking clean and suspension from our friends over at RockShox keep the trails smooth. Congratulations Nino, you truly are the G.O.A.T.

Just out of interest: what‘s the reason for that?
@@moritzorama copper paste is a high temperature/pressure lubricant used in several ocassion on the brakes of a Car/Moto/MTB, p.e. on the backside of the brakepads. Cause of its high tolerance for temperature it wont start to flow around when the brakes getting hot. Reason to put a lubrication to the brakes is to avoid vibration, so to say to avoid annoying sounds related to braking.
@@moritzorama it’s mainly to act as a barrier between the two surfaces to stop corrosion.

Last time I accidentaly cut the chain too short. I would have got a heart disease if this had happaned with a 200€ chain. :O Fortunately it was only 10€.

In your opinion, what’s the problem with center lock disks?
@@JoaoGuilherme1308 I see no reason for that standard to exist. When there is 6 bolts. The centerlock has more torque going through the interface, meaning it MUST be steel and reinforced thus heavy. Having splines would always have some play, and this play will loosen the nut holding it, and it will always rattle. You can't tighten it on the trails without the proper tool and removing the wheel. With 6 bolts I carry two cleat bolts as spares. And 6 bolts work even with just a couple of bolts, they won't rattle or loosen. Much cheaper, lighter and stronger.

Love how the rear brake hose is so easily pushed through the swing arm and next it pops up in the headset...must be magic but not the reality lol. Useful to emphasise using thread lock on that upper shock holding bolt as they can become loose. Beautiful bikes and not too difficult to work on but Scott do not help because their manuals are rubbish and there is no exploded drawing.
Yanick - do you link the blip for the dropper to a blip box? Is that stashed in the steerer? I wonder if Sram are working on a wireless blip perhaps that doesn’t need a blip box 🤔 🙏🏼
That's what I did on my bike. blip box invisible in the stem and Swiss made custom triggers for shifting and 1 blip for the dropper. works perfect and has a nice clean look

its been in pre production for three years, called the aspen ST (short track). 170 TPI and super fast rolling. i dont think it will be available to the public for sometime.

I'm a little bit surprised/confused: SRAM itselfs recommends a 3mm spacer on the left side for the wide crank 🤔. I just the saw the 5 mm spacer. Am I mistaken?
Nino is using the non wide (Q168) XX SL Eagle Transmission crank with DUB BB92 which requires a spacer configuration with a 2mm on the driveside only. If it was the Q174 crankset, then it would be 3mm non-drive and 5mm drive side.

Battery in the seatpost is for the dropper. Its a wireless dropper. And as for the part on his grip, its a blip button that activates his dropper post. Pretty awesome. Oh almost forgot, the tires are maxxis aspens i think

@@DennisSchoofs not a 2nd gen, just and addition to the line up. called the aspen ST (short track) its lower rolling than the aspen, for fast and dry courses.

It's a blip
