I love how Gerard was drunk out of his mind when this was recorded and still managed to sing this beautiful, emotional, amazing song. If that doesn’t describe MCR, I don’t know what does.
@@starrellison4676 Well damn that shows you how much talent he has. Although it is a bit unprofessional to be drunk when you are getting ready to record a song
I think it’s because he realized, at this point in the band, how fragile the band was. I don’t think he sang this to be a b-side, never to be spoken about ever again. Gerard made this his opus. He was struggling with addiction to pills and alcohol right around this time. He saw it all and sang this for that reason. One of the most beautiful songs, sang exactly how he wanted. Beautiful
It's so sad how he literally hit rock bottom to the point of wanting to kill himself and this song just explains it. I'm really happy that he recovered and made it through those rough and dark times with the help of his friends and family and he's a stronger and happier person now with his own family to look after for.
They said they wanted to be like Smashing Pumpkins Smashing Pumpkins were together for 12 years, took a 9 year break, and got back together. My Chemical Romance were together for 12 years, so maybe after a 9 year break they'll be back together, in 2019? Or so it's rumored
This song and the lyrics and emotions are just so... raw. You can literally feel what Gerard was feeling through his voice, it was as if he poured his heart out through singing this song.
True, Gerard thought that this was one of their worst because he was drunk while recording, but personally (and a lot of people would agree) I love it.
It may sounds a little cheesy but I love this song because you can really feel the desolation and the pain in his voice, the representation of the dark place trough he was passing by on his mind in that hard times with deppresion and addiction.. it's so sad, because Gee is a beautiful human and he deserves to be happy
This hit me hard. The emotions and rawness of Gerards voice in this song. I immediately got hit with a wave of emotions making me cry and my heart hurt because of the meaning behind this
this song makes me cry, not because of they lyrics or the meaning, but because they played this at my friend's funeral after she died in a car accident.
lilow chicken Oh ok. Don't worry! your friend is watching you from heaven and when she sees you suffering, she feels pain. And don't worry! She's loving you from heaven! Now, she's in a better place now! She's an angel that is protecting you from heaven!😇😇
Actually, when i first listen to this song. I drowned myself in tears. And later i saw and interview of them. Where Gerard said that this song was about when his grandmother died. Right when there album came out. Three cheers for sweet revenge album.
Liz Vazquez that's the wrong song. It was Helena you're thinking of. This song isn't even on three cheers. This song is about his drug and alcohol addiction and this song was recorded whilst he was high and drunk but they did it anyway. Hence why he is slurring a lot.
The way he sings this song has that same idk how to call it, but I can hear the same thing in his voice in the song The Light Behind Your Eyes. Is not the power, is the way his voice sounds like, a voice different from what we hear in The Black Parade. Maybe I'm not making any sense..

Last year, I was in a rough phase in life. I was not doing okay. I wasnt able to figure out adulthood or life in general. I was horrified to keep on breathing. My skies were always filled with dread. Lonely, crying my heart out at the rooftop terrace while listening to this very song. This song made me feel like, I have my past and future selves, patting me on the back. Because, no one else would understand that phase that I've went through but myself. And that's okay. Listening to this song again, brings back all of those memories. It reawakens the version of me that was in pain. Giving me another chance to revisit, and returning the favour to comfort my past self. I'm in a much better state now, but I will never forget how this song made me feel comfort in the heavy storm. In those moments where I didn't know where to go. Thank you Gerard and MCR for this awesome song.

Just got out of their concert , and this was the last song Gerard sang. Wonderful concert, and wonderful song . This was definitely the best song they could choose to end the concert.
I love this song. It's sad knowing the fact about Gerard's depression and addiction. It's VERY! powerful and meaningful. I cry when thinking of my dad who is like Gee. It honestly hits me in the feels every time I listen to this.
This song has such an impact on me it brings me to tears everytime. When my dad died when I was 12 I kept listening to this on repeat and getting the raw painful emotions out, it helped me cope by helping me to just completely die and crumble on the inside to then be able to rise again, it sure as hell took time but having gotten the worst emotions reacted out helped. Now whenever someone close to me dies I put this on and deal with sorrow in the same way, I did the same when my cat died, I had that cat for 14 years and we grew up together, he was my best friend in the world and was always there for me, I miss him so much. My chemical romance helped me deal with my worst moments of my life this is why they mean the fucking world to me. I am now 23 and this song will always hit me like a wave when I hear it, it sort of takes me back to those moments.

"And after all, we'll lie another day... all fall down, after all", "GET UP COWARD!". "Through cartilage and flood... Did you come to stare or wash away the blood?" "Let it flood, let it flood, let it wash away."
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever like I’m not emotional or sad or anything but this still made me cry the way Gerard sings this makes it so beautiful and the lyrics are amazing
Gee said that this was supposed to be the last track on Revenge, but it didn’t make the cut for the time being. This is definitely one of the most heartbreaking songs they have. “Rocking out, just for the dead” he’s talking about the protagonist among the dead, and about us! The sad people who feel “dead” on the inside. It just occurred to me for the first time today.
I've been a fan of MCR for over half my life, since I was 11 in 2005, till now. They helped me so much when I was young and going through a lot, sometimes I go a while without listening to them and when I do it brings back so emotions. This song was one that I listened to a lot back then, still makes me cry.
This also reminds me of waking up to this song play on the life on the murder scene menu, I couldn't sleep without the light and TV on when I was little and I would play that dvd a lot.
see i knew as a kid that gerard dealt with addiction but it didn't hit me as deeply as it does now being in the throes of addiction myself. i feel so deeply for him. if he can make it through this bs i can too.
Every time I hear this song, I remember how close to the end this beautiful man was, and I am once again grateful that he was stronger than his illness.

Goodbye Isabelle, I'll cherish your 41 years on our earth. 41 years in which you not only blessed us with your love, voice, laugh, tears, hugs, and 3 beautiful kids, my cousins. It still doesn't feel real. But nothing feels real when someone passes, I see you blessed us with a beautiful sky this night, August 1st, 2020. Thank you, I love you. I didn't say it enough. I hope you know this. Come and say hi one last night will you? Please visit my dream. Goodbye. 🖤🖤🖤
i remember being at my lowest point i’ve ever been and just listening to so much mcr to make me feel better. i’m slowly recovering, but they have helped me so so much❤️
Why is this not a trigger but a g note is? God, you can hear the pain behind the drunk in his voice and it hurts my heart more than anything else they've done....
I never heard this song before commenting this. I told myself that on the day where the other mcr songs werent enough to cheer me up, I would listen to this song for the first time and see if it could manage to finally make me happy. Guess what. It worked.
well, I've just listened the first time to the song and, yes, I am crying, definitely Because of the lyrics, all these emotions you can hear, and because of the pain in his voice and do, you know which song it reminds me of? what makes me cry even harder? The fact, tou can hear like the same pain or emotions when he sang PIano Jam The way he sings, with all these feelings, thats what touches me every time, but this is also what breaks my heart... Like i just wanna hug him and promise him everything will be alright
Ive listened to MCR for 3 years now. This is still the one song that I’ve always stuck with. No matter how you interpret the lyrics, the beautiful singing, breathing, and dark instrumentals really tie this song together and make it so much more emotional. I believe this song itself helped me through more than any person ever could. MCR truly is a great band and could never be replaced within the industry and in the amazing fans. :,)
JanaRichie k I'm in the phandom too but can you not say "crafting" instead of crying, like this song is very emotional and serious so can you please just stop?
I love how Gerard was drunk out of his mind when this was recorded and still managed to sing this beautiful, emotional, amazing song. If that doesn’t describe MCR, I don’t know what does.

This also reminds me of waking up to this song play on the life on the murder scene menu, I couldn't sleep without the light and TV on when I was little and I would play that dvd a lot.
see i knew as a kid that gerard dealt with addiction but it didn't hit me as deeply as it does now being in the throes of addiction myself. i feel so deeply for him. if he can make it through this bs i can too.
you got this i believe in you! it's rough sometimes but so worth it
I love how he can sound so gorgeous when drunk and high, yet I can't even sing decently regularly xD
I'm happy that he's doing much better now though.
So glad they played this live
Probably my favorite vocals from Gerard ever
All these years later and I'm still coming back to this song to get me through my darkest moments.
Im so glad you're back, MCR
Every time I hear this song, I remember how close to the end this beautiful man was, and I am once again grateful that he was stronger than his illness.
The best lyrics video on youtube, imo.
Why does this not have more views? Good Quality, great video.
Good job, mate. I think it's terrific. [:
Could be a little louder though?
its not a very well known song so it's not gonna get many views
sexymusiclovez That's how loud it is. If you don't like it go to the original vid on MCR's account and listen from there.
I’m 1 minute in and already crying...this is my first time listening to this
This hits so much fucking harder when you know what he was going through and you're going through the same
Goodbye Isabelle, I'll cherish your 41 years on our earth. Goodbye. 🖤🖤🖤
you doing ok?
hugs
i remember being at my lowest point i’ve ever been and just listening to so much mcr to make me feel better. i’m slowly recovering, but they have helped me so so much❤️
Why is this not a trigger but a g note is? God, you can hear the pain behind the drunk in his voice and it hurts my heart more than anything else they've done....
I can run, jog, walk, and do so much more through this song.
I never heard this song before commenting this. I told myself that on the day where the other mcr songs werent enough to cheer me up, I would listen to this song for the first time and see if it could manage to finally make me happy.
Guess what. It worked.
I love the emotion. This takes me back to my high school days and finding myself.
well, I've just listened the first time to the song and, yes, I am crying, definitely
Because of the lyrics, all these emotions you can hear, and because of the pain in his voice
and do, you know which song it reminds me of? what makes me cry even harder?
The fact, tou can hear like the same pain or emotions when he sang PIano Jam
The way he sings, with all these feelings, thats what touches me every time, but this is also what breaks my heart...
Like i just wanna hug him and promise him everything will be alright
honestly one of my favourite mcr songs, its so raw and beautiful
I sang this song at my friend's funeral and it brings back so many memories... still makes me cry to this day
Even when I'm listening to this and not paying attention, I still always almost cry.
"I can see you awake anytime in my head
Is probably the most vague and depressing thing I've ever heard
I used to dislike this song a refused to listen to it but as I got older I started to love it more. The pain in his drunken voice breaks my heart.
Poor Gerard... :( A very dark chapter in his life.
AYE IM THE 69TH SUB
also this song is 1000000/10
alright who's slicing onions in here
Oops my bad
*hides onions*
sorry I was making spaghetti sauce
Shout out to the kid in Robotics club who played this while the teacher wasn't in the room.
Lmao
this makes me want to cry
We're all crying with him
Seriously my favorite MCR song. First time I heard a bit of this song on their making of Black Parade on the CD, I immediately needed more.
I wasn’t planning on crying today but life is full of surprises:)
THIS SONG IS SO PERFECT!!!!!!!!! FAVVVVVVV
Jeezuz frack how are you so happy about this?
best song to be along with today especially
Social.climb is it March 22nd?
Ive listened to MCR for 3 years now. This is still the one song that I’ve always stuck with. No matter how you interpret the lyrics, the beautiful singing, breathing, and dark instrumentals really tie this song together and make it so much more emotional. I believe this song itself helped me through more than any person ever could. MCR truly is a great band and could never be replaced within the industry and in the amazing fans. :,)
Defiantly the most underated MCR song
y'all just saw this live and came to look up the lyrics y'all are sick
* crafting in the corner *
xXsun flowerXx I guess thePhandom is every where. I am tearing because of the song but your comment makes me want to laugh
Crafting?
R Mallon phandom (dan and Phil) reference
Same
.... Do I dare make a ladydoor joke
RIP LARONNIE... your memory and this song will always be remembered by many. Love you
I'm crafting really hard right now, the emotion in this song is too much for me to handle.
JanaRichie k I'm in the phandom too but can you not say "crafting" instead of crying, like this song is very emotional and serious so can you please just stop?
WHAT DOES CRAFTING MEAN IN THIS SCENARIO?!?!?!?
I think they’re talking about crafting in minecraft
Puffin it’s a Dan and Phil thing
Well MCR is finally bacc
I just can't take off of my mind... I don't know what happens but since a few days all the day is that song in my head.
Tricia1192 are u talking about the mcrpocalypse
This is and always has been my favorite MCR track.
