    Marco, I really loved this lesson. I am a beginner but I started playing the ukulele to move towards Spanish classical ukulele. I think with a lot of practice and viewing your lessons I may be able to get there. For me this is a start in that direction. Thank you for your lessons and I hope you and your family are well.

    never thought about slowly fingerpicking the 3 3 2 pattern like this. I learned it as a faster, full chord strum, known as the Formby Split Stroke.

    I love in the end doing everything on my Baritone ukulele. I do realize that it is in a different key but that is ok. If i want to add the 4th string do you have a recommendation which other string i should pluck it with? Like 2 strings at once. Definitely going to play around with this. Thanks!

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  2 роки тому

      I am not sure what I would do if I had to add the 4th strings. There a limited options to be honest :)

  • @trevorcoultart
    @trevorcoultart 2 роки тому +4

    Interesting, when I started playing around with finger picking patterns to move away from just strumming, I just did what felt and sounded natural to me, and it's exactly the opposite pattern to this. It's still a 3-3-2, but starting with my middle finger and working upwards so instead of 321-321-32 I'm going 123-123-12.
    Having that in my brain makes trying this really hard as my fingers automatically go back to what they're used to.

    One thing I've noticed is practice and practice and practice of course
    Just get to a point to where you almost want to say maybe I'm not doing good enough maybe this isn't for me
    Six seven days go by
    Granted before you are practicing at least 3 hours a day
    And then you come home you look at your favorite ukulele you smile real big and you say damn it no I will keep practicing no matter how boring it gets
    But then after that practice session you're like you know what that was fun as he.

    Hi Marco, I’m really trying to progress my ukulele playing on to fingerpicking. Here in UK we have a great TV program called The Detectorists. The theme is performed by Johnny Flynn. I’m currently failing to translate to original guitar fingerpicking to the ukulele. Is there any chance you could assist?

  • @GetERekted

    I have a weird question : i can't get the meter or measure (don't know the right word to use neither). How should i count ?

    • @MarcoCirilloUkulele
      @MarcoCirilloUkulele  2 роки тому +1

      I know! It isn’t the most simple. If you want you can try to count from 1 to 8. The thumb is on 1, 4, and 7. So, you have -- thumb, 2, 3, thumb, 5, 6, thumb, 8 -. Once you have that you can add the fingers. Also, I am sure this will probably confuse you even more 😑. I hope it helps though!

    What's the very last note?

    • @TimPoitevin
      @TimPoitevin Рік тому

      The last note is x655, which is a D chord (minus the fourth string, 7th fret). Another D chord that sounds almost as good is x225, which is easier because you just have to add your pinky to the 5th fret. But try for the x655 - it sounds better.
