"That's definitely a ball inside."
.0023 seconds later
That's just nasty right there
That would give Maddux a big smile.
Oh yeah 😊
Imagine Maddog if he could've painted corners with 90+mph pitches?
@@donarthiazi2443 He threw low 90's, so technically he already did that, lol. 95+ is a different story
@@dre32pitt
I think he touched the low 90's in the very early years. But in his prime, when his pitches jumped around like a whiffle ball... that was low to mid 80's on his best day(I think 🤔).
@@donarthiazi2443 he was still high 80s in the early 00s.. He didnt get to mid 80s, or lower, until the end end (Padres/Cubs 2nd stint days).. but he ALWAYS had nasty movement.. and you're right.. he realized, early on, that trading some speed for movement worked better for him. Pitching to weak contact vs trying to strike ppl out.
@@dre32pitt
I believe you. I never gave much thought to his velocity because that was pretty much the last pitch he'd use. In the Cy Young years he was an absolute joy to watch. He was like a robot with his delivery, giving not a hint at what was coming. He worked very quickly, which his defense loved, and his own defense was -nearly- impeccable. Plus he'd give you a ton of innings.
That's one of the greatest pitches I've seen at 92 miles per hour.
I was there, at Petco...I was pissed at the call..then saw it on the big screen and ate my freaking words!! One of the best pitches I've seen in some time
& now my elbow is killing me
This pitch actually shouldn’t have negative effects on the elbow because the movement is achieved through seam shifted wake, as opposed to pronation.
Webby is underrated
Fr
I'm curious how both of you think Logan Webb is "Underrated" he's the Ace of the Giants staff and every clip I see of him the broadcasters are fawning over his abilities! I'm a Padres fan and watched this game live and Don & Mud were CONSTANTLY saying how good he was AND he was SECOND in Cy Young voting last year, so if that's "Underrated" then I'm super confused!
Oh please... everything that's ever been done anywhere is either _"underrated"_ or _"criminally underrated"_ on UA-cam 🙄🙄
@donarthiazi2443 "oh please" is not a reason! 🤣 read the room my guy, you're commenting on a video where he's literally getting praised for a pitch that "doesn't look real"-PitchingNinja. Your comment would be in the dictionary as the definition for Delusional! 🤣
@@BuyOnlyBitcoinDaily ..I think that person is agreeing with you lol
that's why they get paid millions
I would consider that nasty in my fast pitch wiffleball league
Is there a slow pitch wiffle ball league? Btw why is there a wiffle ball league? Wiffle ball is just a pickup type neighborhood game.
@@larrydanadavid2435 wiffleball is pretty competitive I’m pretty sure there is a World Series/championship game for it. I believe it’s played 3 on 3. The movement that can be put on a wiffleball makes it extremely hard to hit so some people decided to make it a real sport or something like that.
@@larrydanadavid2435 I did some research there is “MLW” on UA-cam which stands for Major League Wiffleball and it’s a league made up of 8 teams I think. There is also Mid Atlantic Wiffle who host wiffleball tournaments.
@@larrydanadavid2435u cant be serious?
Its harder to hit a wiffleball or blitzball than a baseball by far, even pros in the mlb would admit this
Pro wiffleball is a thing, there is a reason why they have to have speed limits, the ball has insane movement
That ball occupied every square millimeter in the strike zone!!
Holy s##t!!!
Nice pitch!!!
My God your rite started what looked like out of his hands up n in and ended up low and ended up on the low outside corner wtf ...that was Beyond NASTY 😮
Batter: "🤔 ooo-kay, then. Sure. Huh. Didn't know you could...alrighty. Same time next inning? Right. Cheers!"
Welcome to the big leagues Merrill!
Batter knew there was no reason to be embarrassed
Webb of deception
I hope you interview him this season.
I interviewed him a couple seasons ago. But will get him back. ua-cam.com/video/5yMuKb72dsE/v-deo.htmlsi=_bhzdwagvlc8Q9un
That's insane
“Josh bell is a funny human being to look at” 😂
Unhittable… unless you’re Javy Baez and you swung when you thought it was way off the plate 😂😂
Great pitch. Respect. I remember pitching around 18 years old and the only left to right pitch i knew back then was called a screwball. It felt like it would be hard on the arm long term.
it is no harder to throw a screwball longterm than a fastball, assuming your mechanics are correct
@@SuperAmazingJared Must have been bad mechanics. I turned my hand and arm over a little. Got good movement but if i emulate that right now vs fastball, slider or 12 to 6 curve motion i only feel a little twinge in my elbow turning it over.
I threw a 2 seamer in high school that moved a lot. It was mostly finger placement and pressure that made it move but I did rotate my wrist slightly. Never had any issues with it.
Never seen a better 2 seamer?
Greg Maddux had one that was insane
The pitcher the manager told you not worry about😆
Thats just not fair, im surprised he didnt think that was gonna hit em!
What a pitch throw
**Greg Maddox enters the chat**
Call me crazy but with all these pitchers blowing their arms out, the Knuck will make a prevent comeback. Much easier on the arm and still provides some crazy break. It is slower and pretty hard to throw effectively.
Hes our ace 🙏
Bat on his shoulder 😳😱🥶
That feeling being the hitter when the pitcher just threw some nasty shit and all you could do was just look at it. Been there bud, been there
That's brilliant 👏
My issue with Volpe 1 is I worry it means he will steal less with Soto & Judge behind him.
That being said his ability to get home from 1st on a double is going to help a lot + he take walks.
Are you gonna do pitching highlights?
Thats insane 😂😂😂. Good luck hitting that
That is crazy!
Mans out here throwing beyblades
Lots of movement 😊
That is pure insanity
He actually hung it. Dead red in the middle of the zone. If he had been sitting on it, it would’ve went a long, long way! (Yes, nasty pitch! 2 feet of movement on a velo above 90 is impressive! All I’m saying is that he certainly missed his spot!)
I feel like pitchers have such a big advantage over hitters these days… The different ways they have to get extra grip and extra rotation is changing the game completely. Nobody can hit these pitches….
Some of y’all have never seen Greg Maddux pitch and it shows
Never seen Daniel Bard before he wrecked his arm socket then.
The batter just staring at the strike zone after it hits mitt 😂 like well...i did my part
The batter’s body language said, “Oh crap, I’m going on the highlight reels tonight.”
Coach: Lean into the next inside pitch
Batter: As soon as I saw it was inside, it disappeared.
Batter talks to himself.
13:41 missed an opportunity to say “gian-car-know”
Nasty!
The Dark Webb
Common Webb. He's just a kid. lol
It caught the back corner
That's so filthy the catcher's glove should be considered a toxic waste dump... :)
Very very nasty!!! He put some real funk on that one..
That was some Bugs Bunny shit😂
Now that's pulling some strings.
when his arm is horizontal the ball should run . big difference than the way Maddux threw over the top.
Nasty ninja we need the big videos plz
That’s why I played football…
Considering laminar flow and induced turbulence through dynamic fluid in stadium air too tough for a.i.
Sick, imagine if he started it more inside, batter would've probably bailed,or started it in the center and maybe get him whiffing all air
The ball started towards his glutes then ended up middle middle.
I'm left-handed and I would have been bracing for impact. What's more than filthy? So, the only other pitch I can think of that f'd up is Walker Buehler's slider to Manny Machado
SP representing
Was that ball scuffed up from a previous hitter and not changed out?
Even if the batter would have made contact with that ball he just wouldn't beat it in the ground that was a nasty pitch
G o. G. I. A. N. T. S
Nasty
Greg Maddux did this but he needed a scuffed ball.
Is that a Screwball 🔩⚾ ?
His elbow's gotta hurt !
That.. wha.. just.. i dont... how...
*no*
I'm surprised an ump could see that
Bro i saw this i was floored
That's a nice pitch.....but unfortunately it can't be duplicated every pitch. Most big league pitchers have the ability to show really nasty movement at times. The great ones can do it consistently.
There is nothing the batter can do! I would rather be caught looking than look silly by swinging at it!
You’re only as good as the last time you went over on strikeout props. He’s still got work to do this season.
All natural. No way that ball was doctored at all.
Trevor Bauer approves 😅😂
The batter took that well.
Anyone would.
What could you do with that pitch?
Starts off looking like its coming for your head then crosses over the center of the plate... at your knees... what the shit is that
Upon release it looks like its gonna come in a bit high and inside . Once it actually crosses the plate its thigh high and right over the plate. If you swing youll probably miss, if you take the pitch its a strike. Just nasty
That sinker's a stinker!
Every batter know why they got two strike. They better be prepared for a strike
thats a screwball! 😂
I would be very upset as the hitter. There’s no way to be ready for that lol
Something is sticky here.
Logan Webb
Breaks more like an old fashion screwball than a sinker. But it's FN 92mph!!!
Still think Zach Britains 96 was the best. That was all he threw as a closer. That was all he needed.
Welcome to the major leagues. Lol. Good luck hitting that pitch.
🤮🤮🤮... And that's a compliment
That's a crazy splitter
Sinker
@@thomasadams5957 no such thing.
@@Nobody2day553look up clay holmes
@@Nobody2day553there absolutely is. A sinker is just a 2-seam fastball that generally has both a downward and arm-side lateral movement. It's rarely this nasty though. To call this pitch simply a 2-seamer would do it a disservice
@@phiten40 what you described is a splitter
Impressive
For a kids game
You usually only get that kind of movement with a wiffleball.
At a certain point, that's not a sinker, it's a screwball
How, how are you supposed to hit something like that at 92mph
Go check out Greg Maddox
Would you like some arm side run? How much? I'll see what I can do.
Bo Bolinski
Graphic goes past where the ball ended up. A little misleading.
No it doesn't
Looks more like a two seamer
Giants better stop fucking around and make a run with this guy and build a much better team
never crossed the plate
Ouch. Hate to think what that's doing to his arm . . .
i don't think sinkers really hurt your arm. unless he's using a splitter grip
@@samv1010 Isn't this really a screwball (?)
@@QED_ its really hard to say
@@HughMungus4655 It's hard for me, for sure. Can you throw a 92 MPH screwball . . . or does that speed rule it out as a screwball (?) I checked Webb's pitch stats and he has no history of pitches identified as screwballs. His 92 MPH pitches are listed as sinkers . . .
Its just a fastball with cut causing the seams to hit the air and push the ball down a certain way. Its called seam shifted wake
It looks like it just hung there asking to be put out of the park.
