If you had to choose between WORX 20V LANDROID 700m2 Robotic Lawn Mower Kit w/ POWERSHARE Battery & Charger Base - WR149E or Solo by AL-KO Robolinho 700E Robotic Mower 127547. Which one would you buy?
For the connectivity and functions I would go with the landroid. The Alco however is a high quality robot and works very well.
Thanks for the review, would you recommend this robot mower for Sir Walter buffalo with a thick thatch? Also, what do you recommend modifying when completing the perimeter wire install to get the close edge cut? Thanks!
Hi, the Worx Landroid robot mowers with a larger front wheel (Wr149e and Wr150e) can be quite good on thicker lawns like buffalo and kikuyu, however if the grass is heavily thatched (deeper than 50mm after being mowed) then there is no robot that will handle this without getting stuck in the grass when turning. So the only answer is to scalp your lawn down really low and let it recover for a few weeks. In the long run your buffalo will thank for doing this. The blade guard on the Worx models sit 10-15mm lower than the blade system, so take this into consideration when using it on thick deep lawn types.
With the cut to edge feature the standard distance for the wire is 26cm from a hard edge. On internal corners I recommend sticking to the 26cm. For straight runs you can reduce this distance to 23-25cm so the robot runs with its body just missing the hard edge by 1cm. This distance really depends on many many things. If you have a metal fence, metal shed or large concrete slab near the edge of the lawn then this will slightly alter the distance. So best to install the wire on the surface and distance until you get it running just right.

Hi zen, no problem with changing the wifi connection. Just select the “reconfigure wifi connection” option under settings. If you set it up under your Worx account you will also need to transfer ownership through both of your online accounts.
Hi, should the base station be only installed over the lawn ? Or can I install it over a concrete area ?
Hi Ravi, the base station is generally installed on the edge of the lawn, but it can be installed over just ablout any firm surface. Concrete is ok. You just need to either install the wire so the concrete area is excluded from the mowing area or let the robot mow the concrete area between the lawn and the location of the base station.
Do you think landroid would be ok if i leave for a week?
Hi Cody, once you have had a landroid working well fo a few weeks, then yes it will very reliably continue to work with out any asssitance. If you have a complicated yard it may take a while to iron out any areeas that might cause the landroid to get stuck. like sloped areas or small holes.
For a yard like in this video you could set and forget from day one as it is very simple and very flat.
