I know this was months ago but I wonder if you get the right translation, you can ask him to reserve fat for you to pick up/buy every week or month. So cool! I need to check out local butchers here too. I don't know why I haven't done that yet! Oh and on my list of things to try is Steak and Butter Gals soft tortillas. I think they are just ground chicken and egg in a food processor with enough water to make a thick batter. I miss tacos!

I’m not sure about the translation, but I ask for “beef fat trimmings” and he will cut me off some the next day and text me when it’s ready to pick up. They freeze well. I usually ask for 6-10lbs and cut it up and freeze most of it.

Hi- Carrisito Ranch in Santa Ysabel sells very good beef, pork, sausage, and poultry. They also have fat for making sausage and bones for broth. I enjoy watching your channel.

Love your channel, I get grass fed fat from whole foods. I cut it up into small cubes and put them in the air fryer. I absolutely love it and it’s has helped my brain heal from a TBI. Can’t wait to see you guys with the grinder.🦋

It's easier than you think, just follow the directions and you'll be fine. That's almost the same model of grinder my son has and we use it when we grind up our deer meat - sorry for anyone that doesn't like like that, but that's a part of our lives.
You could also form your sausage links by hand with out the casings.

Best of luck with meat grinder. You’ll do fine. You don’t need to put in casings, just hand make patties or link shapes. Number one thing is to clean the grinder well after.

Hey Steph !! 👋 ... You can find your casings and all kinds of meat seasonings/ supplies for jerky & sausages and all kinds of meat grinders & parts etc at like Bass pro , Cabelas, and probably any big outdoor hunting & fishing stores around you. 😊 ... Our Bass Pro stores here have a huge selection of that type of stuff (lots of hunters & fisherman here ) 😁 ... and if you don't have a Bass Pro close in your area, maybe check them out "online" 👍 ... Anyway, hope this info helps ! ... EYL !! 😊🤗

Thank you! We don’t have any big fishing stores around that I know of-but we live near enough to the ocean that I’m sure there’s something like that in San Diego! 😀

Brisket is a good source of fat and cheaper per pound. Fat gets harder when cold so when picking one get one that isn't floppy. When I was a meat cutter my favorite was a combo of different trim from all parts. We kept grinder cold and ground through plate with larger holes, then again through the smaller holes. Hope the tips help. We also did a grind with beef and bacon.

You can make little sausage patties and freeze them, that's what I do. Good luck! There are some great sausage makers on You Tube. They will give you an idea on the percentage of fat to meat to use which is important, but other than that it's not too difficult. Always edible.

Hi there. I had flash backs! We used to make sausage every 3 months. It was an all day process. We would make about 150 pounds at a time, it was exhausting. The worst part was cleaning up afterwards. We had huge equipment. Grinders, meat saws sausage stuffers, I’m exhausted just thinking about it. I sure don’t miss it! Do a little bit at a time, don’t overwhelm yourself. I wish you luck 💖 God’s blessings🙏🏻 💖from me to you.

Our groceries stores here charge 50 cents and 99 cents a lb for beef fat. They usually won’t have it on hand if you just walk in and ask (since no one buys if they just throw it away normally) but if you ask them if they can save some for you the next day or something they should be able to save some for you. Great way to make tallow cheap, or just fry it up and eating it is delicious too.

In Missouri, my ex used to hunt, we used to get Free fat from the butcher to mix in with the deer meat to make burgers or sausage at home. Most of the fat there was pork fat - they get so much when they butcher the pigs that they give it to anyone that wants it. Loved my meat grinder!

Hey, Adventure Lady. I love trying new foods. Making your own sausage is not hard, just time-consuming and messy. Pigs feet can be cooked in crockpot or slowly simmered on stove top. Must be seasoned well. Suggest onions, garlic, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. This method will produce a lot of that gelatinous stuff mentioned in your other vids. Not much fat, though. What’s this about weight gain? You look beautiful! 😊❤

The family I grew up in always had meat grinders. We used it mostly for beef for hamburgers and also cooked beef roast for our minced meat pies. They may have made sausage, too, but I don't remember as I probably was pretty young. We only had manual meat grinders. I have an antique one now. My sister uses hers for only making minced meat. Good luck with grinding meat!!! 😊😻

Google Spanish casing for making sausage write it down and take the note show it to the butcher. Or if you have a friend that speaks Spanish maybe they can go with you and she can explain to them that you will be a regular customer who will be needing fat and needing casing for when you make homemade sausage.

If you Google "Spanish to English" a translator site will come up.
Write down all the phrases you want to say and translate them, then can carry it with you next time.
I speak fluent Spanish but writing it is a challenge so I use the site to check my spelling and I think it has a voice translation too for pronunciation

Yes every day an adventure! I am now on a 90-10 carnivore/keto for 6 days. My intestines were adapting the last 2 days. I think i'm retaining water. Not sure what else is going on in my body, but it feels good. Skin is getting better. I hope that i can leave all pills behind me. Have to do research on the bloodthinner and thyroidpills. 2-3 weeks ago i quit the cholesterol-pill. Doc wasn't too happy to say the least... But i'm ok with that. It's my body!

But as you Steph i can't live without😃 i am contacting a orthomolecular dietician though... see if i can change some or if i am missing a vitamin or something. I also watch dr. Berry.
