Yes I agree, even in my own family. My grandmother has 16 grandkids (1 passed), and besides the few that live with her I am the Main one that visits and stays in contact. I know the couple out of State can't visit much but they can call. it's a shame

Alyssa, I know you cherished every moment. I love papa bill and Jane. They raised a fine son that helped Kelly raise 19 awesome children. Hurts my hurt to see them aging so. It happens to us all. Love the Bates family.

Parents and grandparents are so special..I'm 56 and all my grandparents are gone and both my parents so spend as much time with yours as often as you can because it's heart breaking when you don't have them to spend time with anymore..I miss all of them very much..but especially my mom..Enjoyed tagging along with y'all spending time with your special ones...Take care..

Im 47, and theres only 4 granddaughters in our family. The rest of my cousins (20+) are boys! Im the oldest granddaughter and super close to our Nan (grandmother).

Love seeing Mama Jane and Papa Bill! Papa Bill's sandwich isn't too unusual. My sister used to smear chunky peanut butter on bologna and wrap it around a dill pickle. A friend of mine in college put pickles in his morning cheerios. That one I could never even look at!

You have no idea how special this video will be in the future when your grandparents are gone. This is something that I wish I had thought of years ago when my family was still around. All I have now are the memories within my mind, but I cherish every one of them. It would be so neat to watch a video now (like you made) that points out all of the special things I loved/cherished. I'm almost sure there are some little things that I have forgotten about that were just as special. Enjoy every moment, and thank you for sharing your lives with us! Y'all have the sweetest family!

Mama Jane and Papa Bill are such sweet hearts. Glad you got to come and bring your family for a visit. I use to live in Belton down the road from them. That was before the Bates family show. I miss all of your family the weddings and babies coming along and all your grand parent's. Visit them as often as you can.

This is the best kind of UTube video ever! I love remembering good times with my grandparents too. I’ve always loved sitting and listening to stories from elderly people along my journey and hear what their past stories were like. This made me happy for you. I sat on my Grandma's porch and sat on her swing too! Nice! A good way to stay connected to folks who grew to love you from your show, but stay out of your personal life! You will always be glad you spend extra time with your Mama Jane and Papa Bill. Some of my biggest regrets are not spending more time with my loved ones that are gone now. I know I will see them in Heaven one day. That keeps me going.I live around 30-45 minutes away from Belton.It looks so quiet and peaceful on the farm. I’m so glad you and John and the girls were able to spend a nice quiet time with them!Such a beautiful family!

How fun 🤩 my grandparents lived on a farm for 30 years but now back in the city with family again. They were 500 miles from us! Glad they are back

Banana sandwiches are popular in these parts (I’m just north of Belton). The debate starts with the mayonnaise. Duke’s seems to be the go to. Sliced pineapple and mayonnaise is for the “fancy”people, but you still _have_ to use Duke’s. 😂 ♥️
