Miraculously, we had 3 date nights last month. Before that, it had been 3 years! Date nights had been LONG overdue. We got to grab take out, chat in the quiet car, then volleyball. We're expecting #6, so I completely understand how nice it is to have a few moments of quality time (without the kids) with your spouse.

I’ve been married for 17 years with 4 kids ages 16,13,3,2 . You guys remind me to just take time out and go on a date with my husband. We get to busy with work , the house and kids on the weekends we forget about us . Yeah it’s time for date night 🥰

Definitely get that once a week date night while the kids are young. Also because you are home with the girls everyday you should take at least 30 mins each day just for you. I used to just go for a walk each and daddy was in charge. The ME time each day is a MUST to keep your sanity. When my husband was active duty and gone for 6 months at a time I would take 2 full days for just me. I would get a hotel and just veg and enjoy the alone time.

My nephws have the same bunk beds as the girls at 9:13. Anyway, the Websters are so sweet
I am pretty sure my in-laws disapproved when we’d get a sitter on Friday nights twice a month. I thought maybe I was missing something, and maybe it was excessive, but that myth went out the window when we didn’t have a sitter for like 2 months. We saved a few bucks, but I was cranky and edgy with everyone, and the kids were probably miserable, so if anyone feels this type of pressure or shame, you need to take stock of what makes your marriage and family life work & just let a disapproving in-law know that this is just the right formula for you 2 right now.

And just one more thought take it however you may - please don't disregard Allie just because she is the oldest. What I mean is, that she can go first and doesn't have to be last. You could clearly see that she was upset that she volunteered to take a bath first and then you blew by her and asked Lexi. That is truly invalidating her.. don't do that - she's important too. Maybe you each should doing one-to-one with each of them once a month - sometimes Mom and daughter or Dad and daughter or Mom & Dad with daughter.

They know the rules and abide by them very well. I haven’t had any trouble with them getting into the candy.

That's all well and good, but please don't stress the "obedience" so much! They need to be able to discern what behavior is good from themselves and others!! It is important to note that, sadly not all adults or people in authority are trustworthy and they need to know what they feel is valuable and right as well! Basically that they can trust themselves and their instincts.
John, why didn’t you have your seatbelt on when you immediately left the house? That is so dangerous; you have three little girls, one on the way and a beautiful wife. Please always place your seatbelt on prior to moving the car. Anything can occur, at any moment and you could be massively injured for life or worse...loose your life because your seatbelt wasn’t on securely. Your life is extremely important and YOU ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! God Bless you two and your wonderful family. ✝️🙏🌟
