- Before we create our character, we need to create a world in which to explore, adventure, and run away from big beasties!!
"Against the Wind RPG" contains a neat little method of creating not just a map of the world for your game, but also provides random generation for all manner of elements to flesh out the winter-wonderland!! You will find out what level of technology the region possesses, how the locals view magic, the state of peace... or conflict in the area... and even how the winds and unending winter affects the lives and beliefs of the land's inhabitants.
** "Against the Wind" is a solo/coop fantasy-adventure sandbox game in a land ravaged by fierce winds and biting cold, all infused with a subtle pinch of fairy tale ambiance. **

Eeey, Astragarde looks great! Well done, the world is coming to life!
The map looked great in the end! Now on to character creation!
Thanks! 🥰Next video up in a day or two
Your map looks great! I'm excited to watch the next video!
Cheers!! The Character Creation video shall be uploaded a little later tonight...... hopefully 😉
Nicely done. As far as remembering the "Elements", if I see something I really like, say "forgotten deities", I put it on a list (like the ones in Mythic GME), then roll before entering a square to see if a thematic element (in this case the forgotten deities, but in practice I put several things on the list) is relevant to what happens as I explore, then I can decide, using AtW rules, what it is, how to use it, but it forces the thematic elements that I like to come up more often than if I just do what I remember.
Happy adventuring!
Cheers! I like the list idea. May have to use that! 😁
If you have a non dominant drawing hand, using that hand can make for some interesting shakey lines.
You could also find a random assortment of natural textured/erratic shapes, turn them into silhouettes. Then randomly roll or shuffle a deck to those images to get that random look.
Or just grab some interesting coastlines off google earth/school geography book, and again roll or shuffle a deck of those images. Again draw with your hopefully non dominant drawing hand. 😊
I have over the years taken lots of photos of interesting things I find on my many past walks. I have too many interesting textured shapes to get inspiration from. 😂
So many great ideas and ways to get awesome coastlines and map outlines!!!
Do love the “Ron Maiden” tee shirt :)
Eddie will be so jealous
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I noticed that during my apres-edit check, but wasn't about to do it again!! You do get to see the "I" a few times as I move around hahahaha 🤘🤘
When I saw the Ron Maiden shirt, I went on a thought tangent of Iron Maiden songs with the first letter of the title removed. Unto the Hills… strangely works… do they all? He, Trooper. Huh. I think so… Ear of the Dark… ok no. Allowed be thy name…
@@chrisohaver8740 🤣🤣🤣 "Rave New World", "Ring your Daughter....." ummmm no that's not good!! hahaha 🙃
Fitting for you, "the bane of the Wind Walker", to be playing a game called Against the Wind.
😈😈😈
Hey, not a bad result at all. 😊
🥰
