Gotta love the little Ford Maverick, looks a million times better than the overpriced modern Maverick truck.

I owned a 1972 Maverick Sprint in the mid nineties. Back then I didn’t know that I owned a one year only Maverick.

I loved my shiny brown/white 74 Maverick Grabber 250cid back in 96 when I was in high school but just about everybody made fun of it by calling it a "Pinto Plus".

The Maverick was an economical or a racy car. With a large list of options, a buyer could make his/her Maverick one or the other, or in between!

My wife's parents promised to buy her a Mustang. When they got to the dealer the salesman switched them to a Grabber Blue 6cyl Maverick with no AC. The Maverick wasn't a hot seller at the dealer and he got a bonus for moving them off the lot. She hated the car just because it wasn't the Mustang she was promised.

Brothers had a few in the mid 70s . The 70 was better sporter
bumbers and the body was better for rust.My brother 73 had so much rust for a 4 yr old car like many cars in the mid 70s. Glad to see your channel grow. 🇨🇦 Despite the rusty mid 70s I liked the styling.

Who else wishes the new maverick wasn't a truck?

Ford could've use that pickup to resurrect the Ranchero name and fill in the gaps in compact truck market. The Probe should've been made as the Maverick as the latter sounds better than the former IMO. Also, by making it RWD, it could've been a decent competitor to the Japanese imports such as the 240SX and as an affordable alternative to the Porsche 944. The Mazda-based platform could help a lot internationally especially RHD market and the Aussies could've gotten a better looking Capri lol. Speaking of the Capri, it looks like the new one is an EV crossover. Dang it! Not the Capri! They should've pick another name!

If only we could go back in time and buy all the Mavericks we could for $2995 with our 2024 pay scale!
