This might sound weird but after a day off off roading and finding camp having a nice Drink with ice is very nice. I dont need a TV or any of that, but a Drink with Ice is amazing.
The reason you have to leave it sitting for 2 hours is because the compressor contains lubricating oil and the oil only works when it’s sitting at the bottom of the compressor.
I'm hoping other companies take note. I think it might still be better to get a regular fridge, but the fact that an icemaker is an option now is a gamechanger for the bougie overland glampers. Im probably going to get an Iceco regardless but the specs on this are cool! Not perfect, but cool! 😬
Buy an iceco I’ve got a vl60/65 it has never let me down it only uses 36 watts from my solar system once cold about 45 minutes I always put an ice pack in it because it makes the cooling time shorter my 4 patriots 2000x does a good job keeping it going for a week while using the solar panel with the pass thru charging also while running a smart tv and other devices too !!
My take: based on their website I’m not getting the impression that they have impeccable customer service and they’re ultra vague about their warranty on their product, making a product with this many bells and whistles calls for more issues and troubleshooting down the road, in order to have a good experience with this product, it will be fully dependent on how impeccable their customer service and warranty is, which seems kinda non existent at this stage. It’s too high risk right now simply because of cost and lack of retail presence to get assistance if something needed to be fixed. It’s very appealing from a features standpoint, but the cost seems too much for not having a strong market presence and support at this stage.
Hi there, Base on my experiece, they have a top notch customer service. I live in VaNcouver, canada. They reply so fast. They replaced my defective power station right after telling them what my issues were.
I’ve bought several products from them and they really back what they sell, I bought a wave 2 AC the first two were bad and they replaced them instantly no problem, and it was a brand new product lineup. The one I have now works great, I was nervous as it was a new product and could be buying something not thoroughly tested. I would absolutely recommend them and will buy from them again
Interesting. Another aspect I like is that it is only 17.5 inches high. That makes it short enough to not stick up too much above the tub in the back of a topless TJ, which is frankly an important thing if you don’t want your fridge blocking your rearward vision.
One thing that's missing which I wish Ecoflow would have included is the power/data cable like the one used for the Delta Max/Pro. That way you could get exact power readings like you can when the Wave is connected to a Delta Max/Pro.
Great in depth reviews. Could you compare the Glacier to the Anker equivalent? The Anker - EverFrost Dual-Zone Portable Cooler 50 with 299 Wh Plug in? TYI Joel
Nice video 👍🏻 i was wondering, is it 30in with or without the 2 handles ? Can't seem to find this info anywhere. If with handles, what would be the size without them ? I'm looking to replace my current frigde and it needs to fit in the same spot. Thx
HECK YEAH MAN!!! Ecoflow with the WIN!!! I too would like to see an option without the ice maker that has more room designated for refrigerator/freezer space. I'm sure they will offer one soon if they do not already. But Ecoflow is meeting a demand.
Thanks for your hard work in doing this video. It is a great concept EcoFlow has with the ice maker . Too bad that you must buy the battery to be able to make ice. Feels like another gimmick. Would have been nice if EcoFlow would have installed a connection for the River Pro delta extra battery cable or the Delta Max or the Delta two instead of having to use the internal battery. I'll stick to my dometic for now. Again great video, and thank you!
I know it's a year later, but I'm considering this unit during a sale that's running and so watching reviews. It seems the icemaker can run on AC power. Meaning, you can plug the fridge into any of the Delta generators and the ice maker should work fine even without the internal battery.
Question. With the battery installed or uninstslled and plugged into a power station, and then the power station plugged into solar, wouldnt it run indefinitely to use in a large tent or cabin?
So, here is my take, and let me know if this is correct please. I buy this fridge and the battery, get a solar power and I'm good. If I don't get the battery, I can't make ice, but if I do get a battery, and a solar panel, I do not need to buy a power station. Also, I can use this battery's USB to charge a lap-top or phone. So, I pay more for this unit and the battery but I do not need to spend money on a power station?
So if you need to let it sit for two hours in you go off road, does it have to be unplugged? I think for the money there are better products out there way cheaper
I wish the batteries were $99. They are $200 :/ Hopefully someone reviews the more cost effective Anker Everfrost, which includes the battery, wheels and handle for less than the price of the base unit on the ecoflow.
Can you remove the side handles by chance? My fridge 'cabinet' in my truck setup is basically the exact dimensions of the unit without the side handles. Thanks!

Thanks for the great content! I just got one of these and used it for the first time, my compressor makes a tapping sound on bumpy roads. Have you experienced this, is it normal?
As jpdrummer86 mentioned, all the fancy stuff that just makes for more problems. Casey, you mentioned that you would talk about the functionality of the freezer fridge settings at the end of this video. What happened? Nothing mentioned about it. Right, I know of a person that has one of these eco flow glacier fridge units and the unit doesn't register the set temperatures. There is no replacement parts for it and the person got told to throw it away by eco flow. So what is the point of getting something that will end up on the junk heap?
Great video! I think they want the users to let it sit for 2 hours after driving it around because of the refrigerants. I'm not 100% sure about this but when my wife and I bought a water dispenser cooler and loaded it in the back of our truck, they gave us the same advise to let the refrigerants kind of settled first before use.
Realy what game, the fridge is cheap looking, over priced and can do without an ice maker. EcoFlow won't even tell you if it is designed for offroad use. My guess is it is not, this is why they tell you to wait for 2 hours, give the fridge a chance to settle down before you use it. No thanks, I will buy the new Iceco 55 dual zone it is priced better, looks better and is designed to work in offroad conditions. 1000, for the EcoFlo plus 200 for the battery. Talk about bending people over.
@@Letsdive64 I agree, it’s an unsettling thought when they say it needs 2 hours two settle down, and the first time someone experiences issues after off-roading hardcore, they will probably be quick to deny warranty claim, if there even is one, their website says nothing about length or any warranty at all on this product. This is very concerning, and considering it has essentially a turbo mode on the compressor, I wonder if it’ll shorten the life on it. To me it seems to have all the bells and whistles 3-1 plus internal battery, plus Solar charging, I’m wondering how many possible things can go wrong and how many outs does the company have to deny any of these possible issues on warranty, god forbid if the internal battery option ever fried anything inside if it leaked or was defective in any manner, it would ruin the entire fridge, it seems to me that a lot of people will have to be the test subjects for a few years before anyone finds out how it will hold up with off-roading and efficiency longterm
So the icemaker is just like those little icemaker machines you can buy. Hmmm lets see, ecoflow fridge with battery 1250 quid, OR icemaker 60-85 quid and other brand of fridge that can also use batteries (just found one for 150 quid without the batteries) and batteries for same 58 quid. I love ecoflow because they are bringing usable car camping stuff to the USA and UK market but it pays to stick around and wait for the competition to cotton on.
I'd like to see how long that battery lasts when its 90 degrees out. 40 hours is pretty great, and if you're doing 3-4 hours of driving each day, it should stay pretty topped off.
I have a comparison video coming out this week with the Glacier and new Iceco fridge. It does pretty well unless its sitting in direct sun, which no cooler or fridge should. Even so, put a 100w solar panel on it and it will go all day and stay at 100%.
@@bigbadaboomboom maybe you should ask for a battery exchange. I had my smaller side set to 0F and the big side to 36F and I got 16 hours sitting in the last Vegas sun most of the day. Did you turn on eco mode? They also released some firmware updates yesterday.
I really like the battery, ive run my glacier for 4 days on its internal battery alone, without solar or anything, and the battery was still not dead (around 16% I think). But I dint use it as a freezer. I had the big compartment set at 4°C (the normal fridge temp), and the small at 10°C to put my fruit in. It was in a caravan, And I don't want my fruit in a hot caravan, but fridge temp is also not needed for fruit. The fridge was set on ecomode also. But it works perfect in ecomode...
honestly, there aren't really any details right now. In this video I just grabbed a 200w (I think it is) solar panel from Ecoflow and threw it on my roof. With the Delta 2 Max, it has 2 DC inputs, so I plan to run an extension cable off to a solar panel that will be on a RTT once I decide on one I want to stick with.
Interesting, but feel the ice maker is a gimmick. If you just get a larger 55qt or 75qt dual zone fridge/freezer you can just use a standard ice tray when you need ice and when you don't you have more room for other food. In addition that ice maker you said used 10% of battery just for one tray of ice which feels like a lot.
@@Casey250 4 hours? That’s twice the time advertised, were you camping in the desert 😂? Or did you time it based on the fridge not being pre cooled and literally ramp up from room temperature? I listened and I didn't buy one. That also means I didn't watch your video. Good thing because Bluetti came out with their version of battery powered and ice maker 12v cooler. It will last 3 days in eco mode with one fully charged battery. I only paid 569.00 on Indigogo.😊
Damn... 1k for a smart cooler? I'll pass... It's cool tho, but when a mini-fridge can cost around 150-200 bucks, and the gladiator can output 110v to the back no problem.. For free... I think I'd just take the mini-fridge and slightly modify it so it works in a "cooler" orientation... Not hard to do, and WAY cheaper. Plus it's expandable, to where you could go do far as to incorporate a full blown "power system" for the truck (couple batteries, a good inverter, solar panels ontop of the tent/cab) and be able to power ALOT MORE than just a fridge/cooler.. All for less money than this Eco Flow Fridge. Now I do understand that that isn't really the point. The videos point is that it exists and it's available and you don't have to do alot to have something like it. It just costs you an arm and a leg. Sadly for the average person, this just is not an option. Only content creators, or very well off people, will ever actually buy this thing. But maybe that's whats intended lol.
I recently cancelled my 2 orders of Ecoflow Delta 2. They are refusing to refund me. I've never received the products since they have recalled the shipment. They took away my $2,600 . Customer service are not responding at all. Please avoid Ecoflow products!
Yeah their website seems not very customer friendly, they are very vague and don’t show any warranty messages on their products. It seems to me like they would be quick to ignore you through their outdated website format and seems like they don’t have a strong customer service presence. This is what is making me turn a different direction, and the fact that no retailer is currently distributing this product, it would probably be absolute hell if you needed to make a return or get it serviced.
This thing is crazy expensive, other brands go for a couple hundred. Why pay a thousand dollars extra for an icemaker that takes up valuable space, when you can just set the fridge to whatever temperature you want your drink? Just get a vacuum insulated cup for $15.00 bucks, instead of paying thousands extra for a useless feature.
I just bought two fridges. Dometic CFX55 and Ecoflow Glaicer. I don't know what the hype is w the Dometic stuff. Night and day difference between the quality of the Ecoflow and the Dometic. The app for the domestic is trash. Takes a very long time to get the Dometic to say 40 degrees, Like 2 hours. Takes the Glacier maybe 30 mins. I would imagine the Dometic being nearly as good as any of the junk fridges you can get on Amazon for 1/5 the price.
Sorry I’ve just buy one it’s ABSOLUTELY NOT ADAPTED FOR 4X4 off road even soft and even not for trip on a normally road it’s always switch off with the mouvement of the car so you will lost absolutely all you ur food because it switch off and if you have some congealed meat you lost every think. That would be more believable in that case, but sure they Ecoflow can do it in under 20minutes, but based on their website I’m not getting the impression that they have impeccable customer service and they’re ultra vague about their warranty on a product, making a product with this many bells and whistles calls for more issues and troubleshooting down the road, in order to have a good experience with this product, will be fully depending on how impeccable their customer service and warranty is, which seems kinda non existent at this stage. It’s too high risk right simply because of cost and lack of retail presence to get assistance if something needed to be fixed. It’s very appealing from a features standpoint, but the cost seems too much for not having a strong market presence and support at this stage.
wow it looks amazing, love it
Just put this in my van. Thanks for the tutorial.
Glad it helped
Actually Casey this is not the worlds first “Anker” has made them for a while.. fridge , freezer , with built in battery… dont know if it can run off your phone tho,, cool fridge tho ..
It does not make ice. I also wonder why a company like Anker needs to launch a product through Kickstarter, of which it isn't even available yet.
@@Casey250 it is available i know this because a UA-camr has one thats where i saw it,, a chic with a 80 series Landcruser has one , it is green with black writing . Not as fancy or as well made as yours tho .. if ya wanna see one let me know , i will get her exact channel name and video in which you can see it 👍
One that has an ice-maker?
Be sick if they had off road tires for it. Nice set of tsl's for the fridge
They are off-road tires.
I listened and I didn't buy one. That also means I didn't watch your video.
Good thing because Bluetti came out with their version of battery powered and ice maker 12v cooler.
It will last 3 days in eco mode with one fully charged battery.
I only paid 569.00 on Indigogo.😊
Who needs an ice maker out in the sticks?

Wtf my external battery doesnt even last 20 hours. 40 hrs my ass
I'm jealous
1:39 my visual sight is seeing you being able to carry 48 cans of soda 50 and you be trying to force the lid shut , so stop the cap with the 60 cans
Half off on Amazon rn
Tesla of camping coolers
Meth addicted what. Ice really.
I regret my buy 😢
I'd talk to Ecoflow and make sure you update your firmware. I just ran it on 2 trips over 10 days on some crazy stuff and it never skipped a beat.
Did you flip your vehicle over?
After I saw this and read other reviews....I didn't buy it. Apparently another product that's "ok" until you need support from so-called customer service.
Terrible like ratio, ima try n help ❤️
Bye bye overpriced Yetti BS cooloers
