While ICECO is top of the line and has a premium compressor, I still prefer my cheap Bodega. Why? My Bodega has removable baskets to lighten the load with two or three trips instead of getting a hernia. If you have a flat path you can use the pull-out handle and roll on wheels. The Bodego opens with a single pull handle and when you open the lid LED lights come on. The lid can also be oriented to open on the opposite side. Oh, it also has a built-in pull-out battery pack. Lastly I'm not worried about scuffing up the blue dimpled plastic housing on the Bodega. The shiny smooth aluminum finish on the ICECO would probably show ever little dent and scratch.
As I know ICECO's jppro series also comes with wheels, baskets and led lights, and with magnetic power bank can also be used as an alternative "built-in battery" fridge. Also Secop compressors do a really good job of silence and power saving.
I had an Iceco VL65 that was a fantastic fridge. Great compressor, solid warranty, relatively quiet. HOWEVER, where the Dometic I upgraded to makes its mark is in power consumption. The Iceco just chewed through power on my Jackery and even managed to drain my Suburban battery running off 12V hot power in just one night. Something worth factoring in. A dead battery in the backcountry is never a fun time, even with a jump pack.
Nice update! Are you interested in reviewing our 6-in-1 drinking water tester? It can test bacteria, virus, microplastic, heavy metal, and weed kiiler., etc! We're sure that you'll love it.
I wouldn't get a cooler with integrated power storage. If I were to get a powered cooler I would get one that runs off of external power only, for the reason of versatility (having shore power, or car power etc) and also external battery bank can be replaced independently of cooler. Also would not get powered cooler unless your use case is falling out of a maximized non- powered cooler, getting one with better thermal efficiency, precooling the cooler the night before you leave, and freezing all possible food items, and refrigerating the rest ensures that cooler space will be going towards the frozen solid food items rather than packing cooling ice. All these tips together will ensure a cooler that can easily sustain safe temps for a week.
Why have setting of -20 if max cooking is -4??? Not negative person just seems like telling thing. Don’t need you to tell me you can you can achieve x but show or display wow factor that’s not achievable. Just saying
It is a nice looking unit but it is a little pricey. I have a velvor 42 qt. unit that cost me abot half and after a year it is still going strong. It keeps ice cream hard as a rock.
I used my buddys iceco before buying mine and I can say that for over another hundred dollars cheaper you should purchase the setpower version of this fridge. It’s just as well built and works very well. It’s identical to this iceco
What fridge are you talking about, their model that looks kind of like this, but is only single zone, bigger, heavier, consumes more power, has a shorter warranty, and uses more plastic? Apples and oranges - hardly identical.
Does it transfer heat from the outside into the inner due to outside being aluminum? Lets say its sorta in the sunlight in transport? Curious it retaining the coolness
Freaking amazing how efficient a DC compressor works with a DC power supply. My Costco priced Igloo ICF 80DZ consumes around 700 Wh/Day… that’s 14 days on a 10 kWh battery or forever with 1 hour of EcoFlow alternator charging daily.
Question: Casey when you're on the road how do you power the Iceco cooler. Are you using the supplied DC 12-volt cigarette lighter adapter directly into the vehicle or do you run it into your Ecoflow Delta 2 max. Or are you running it using the AC adapter plugged into the Delta 2 max.
Something else. I have a 12v converter that puts out 30amps DC. I plug that into the AC on the Delta 2. Then it's going to run to a 12v fuse block in the bed of the truck. From there I can wire the fridge directly to the fuse block. The converter isn't as efficient running the inverter but it gets me more DC amps into the bed of the truck for lighting as well.
I really like my VL45, 45L volume and half the energy consumption and has 2 baskets. It does weight about 18 more lbs and is only single zone. Paid slightly less than the APL35 too. A lot of options out there. but I think you can't go wrong with any of the ICECO 12v fridges.
That looks awesome! I had a larger dual zone iceco and it was great. Fit perfectly in a rear section of a 4dr f150. This looks like it would fit in my rear extended cab. 😛 We always used the dual zone to freeze ice packs to keep between drives and other cooler cold.
nice table top review. but what i want to see is a real world use. take it out on 100 degree day and see if it can keep the drinks/food cold. like the weather is for most of the country right now.
I have the VL45 model and I've run it off of a 158wh battery with 100 watt solar panel for a week in 95F temps and it was fine. Stayed right around 35F the whole time.
Very good fridge but you give a lot of space away if you don't need dual zones like me. So, hopefully they are gona do a single zone in the near future.
I just bought a iceco VL45 proS and I’m very impressed with it, I’ve used a cooler since forever but this is game changer. One feature I really like is how I can open the lid from both sides or take it off completely. I was originally going to buy the ARB fridge but it’s like 2k cad. After doing some research I found iceco, couple selling points was the reviews, warranty, compressor, and price compared to the ARB unit. Enjoy your new fridge good sir.
Not surprised to hear that. I have a 100 Ah portable battery.. seems like I can get maybe 2.5 days at the most with a 50q ARB fridge. It seems like the batteries in the ecoflow are too small.
My $15 garage sale igloo ice chest works fine, ice lasts 5 days, I never camp longer than that. I really thought about one of these then realized I don't need one. Maybe if I was going out for two weeks but then it won't hold enough food so I have to go to the store anyway so I might as well get ice while I'm there and I don't need a battery or solar to run the ice chest.
While I agree it’s unnecessary if you can deal with water getting into your food which is my biggest reason for getting a fridge my self. I rather spend time having fun and not have to loose time searching for ice. And while you do that I’ll enjoy a cold beer and the occasional ice cream.
@@abeld.4008 that's why Tupperware was invented and there is nothing like reaching into real ice for that first camping beer. Like I said, the longest I ever camp is 5 days so there is no search for ice, I also don't have to search for cold water because I freeze a couple 2 liter bottles and drink it as it melts while keeping everything cold in the ice chest at the same time and no batteries to worry about. If I want a fridge I'll use the motorhome.
I made it about two minutes into your video and had to quit. Too much pounding, thumping background "music" noise. Most youtubers have figured out that background music noise is a losing proposition. Way too distracting. Thumbs down.

I would make sure I had some kind of engineering background before I reviewed products on UA-cam and made a fool out of myself. Let's start at the beginning where the guy can't tell the difference between stainless steel and aluminum. Enough said
I'd be happy to learn if you want to point out what you noticed is SS vs Aluminum in the video. Thanks! The great thing about youtube is anyone can make a video and post it :)

I wonder if the latches and hinges can be reversed so that you can control which side the control panel and power ports are on.
Looks like a real nice fridge. I don’t care for plastic.
Holy crap, I had no idea the Ecoflow was so expensive. Must be high quality.

Are they made in the USA?
Such a nice unit for the money.
I'm pretty impressed. I'm bringing it to expo.
@@Casey250 I’ll have my $1500 arb that’s probably close to the same quality. Lol.
I love the finish of the APL35, but there's no way I'm going to back to a fridge without a battery. It greatly simplified my setup.
Built in battery is super handy for easy setups with no extra power systems.
@@Casey250More to fail also, then the whole expensive thing is toast. I think toting a Jackery, Bluetti or similar with it makes sense.
It looks like an Alu-Box or Zarges case :)
Very much like a Zarges

I don't think they use the same compressor. That's going to make a difference when it comes to efficiency and how much battery they use.
What fridge are you talking about, their model that looks kind of like this, but is only single zone, bigger, heavier, consumes more power, has a shorter warranty, and uses more plastic? Apples and oranges - hardly identical.
iceco is also under the same parent company as setpower

Great review! I wish they would consider the size of standard cans to all fit evenly...I never understood why they don't.
If it had wheels I’d buy it immediately. 35 pound empty means 60 loaded. Needs wheels
60 pounds is still lighter than my Artic full of food and ice for 5 days.

Just got this fridge for camping,It’s very quiet and cools extremely fast,Also use it for runs to Costco..,..
I bought this fridge a week ago. It's a great fit in my 4Runner. Great look, efficient, and at a fair market price.

Your thumbnail mentioned $509, but it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the dialogue.
Kinda felt like bait-and-switch. Did I miss something?
Pricing is available in the link. They are running early bird order pricing so its kind of changing as the orders come in.
I always thought a good cooler was great until having a fridge in your rig. Finding a good priced one that works good is a game changer for sure.

@@schmartz99 thnx sir :D
It's been sitting at temp in the back of my Gladiator all summer cooking away. No issues.
Any concern for it denting very easily? I had an aluminum case for something and it would dent if you looked at it wrong.
I would have to ppf or cerakote it or go nuts looking at the scratches and scuffs after the first month.
Just think of it as a patina.
Metal absorbs heat. No clue why on earth you would make a metal "cooler/fridge". I bet this thing eats electricity like candy.
If only theyd put the power cable on the opposite side of the controls.
Nice looking fridge, I’ve heard of Iceco but never seen one in person. I’d love to try one out😊

Is there a trick to prevent the 12 volt, cigarette lighter adapter plug to not pop out? I have 2 Iceco’s that always fail over time.
Some of these newer 12v fridges are pretty nice. I may take a closer look if my old ARB 50qt fridge ever failed (knock on wood).
How is the noise from the compressor
It’s squeals a tad on startup, but once it’s warmed she’s mostly quiet
Occasionally a chirp
Or a bark
About 146 decibels at 0 inch
I recently bought the iceco j40 for a semi, works great. I love the wireless connectivity.
Why not use a dorm fridge they work great hold more items way cheaper lie 150$ vs 1000$
Different voltage.
Thanks for the vid! I ord mine a couple weeks ago and it’s due to ship in July

To use a five day cooler at least half the capacity is ice or gel ice packs. Same useable capacity the iceless coolers are nearly half the size.
Some classic digital camo trail scale on the top 😊
You know it buddy. Need to go get some printed.
It seems the early bird pricing has passed. Is that correct? You mentioned it started in August
I believe it is still up for a few more days.
@2:17 Degrees C on screen = 20°C it should be -20°C (negative). @ 20°C your milk will start to go off in about 12 hrs.
Dammit. I just got the APL20 when it came out which was perfect for 3 days and I already had a Pro 60, but now you leave me wanting more. Dammit.
Wish they also included the option to use the fridge on it's end. Guess you could make a mount for it to keep it upright, and use like a real fridge.
I've been using an Alpicool t60 for 5 years. Dual zone, 60 quart, $375
I ordered one 20 days ago….it’s still not even Maybe coming until Summer is almost over. Extensive delay in getting one😢
did you ever get it?
I need one thats Seatable.. being in a boat, its gonna get sit on or stuff stored ontop.... How does it handle top weight?
Just got a Topoak galaxy1 and used your code after seeing your videos, ty!
Dang it I missed the deal on the early bird and they are sold out 3 days before the expiration.
Don't put cans in the freezer side unless you want them to explode...
It's not necessarily a freezer. This is a dual zone fridge with independent control of the zones. The bigger size could be the freezer if you wanted.

You can get a ghetto blaster AC and an inverter for about $200
Turn the truck bed into a fridge ;)
