Right, so a bee keeper that makes mead and grows sunflowers for his bees will be the new Elon Musk, got it.
And sunflower seeds for his poultry or oil.
Thats not what he is trying to say. The video is listing items which will be useful as commodities to use as a medium of exchange if the economy collapses. His channel is about doomsday prepping.
I can’t. 😂😂😂😂😂
Think Monsanto. They have been creating infertility in produce, and hoarding seeds. Good times.
@@luke.louren. I think we're all on the same page of what the topic of the video is about🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦
Honey never goes bad it's the only thing that will last longer than anything.
Mustard?
@@nagaviper1169 does it? I didn't know that.
@@PNWMinuteMan2000 I believe so because it has vinegar in it. But double check me on that. Or fact check me as the kids say.

@@nagaviper1169 I wonder if mustard powder would be good for long term storage
I watched a video on bartering a while back. A good tip is if it does come down to bartering again, don't barter from your home.
I invested heavily in the commodities market. I bought 15 jars of Nescafé.
Does anyone even drink it anymore?

Gay coffee, really? And Starbucks isn't by far the fanciest coffee
Pepper is also only grown in specific areas. Wars have been fought over the spice trade
Real talk!
That was mostly over salt. Since it was the only way to store meat long term back then before freezers
Exactly!!! To me being a spice merchant would be one of the extremely profitable in a SHTF situation
Ironic that years ago Caucasian traveled the world 🌎 in search of spices for better tasting/quality of food. Fast forward a couple hundred years and they seem to have forgotten about them and their food is bland AF.
@@nekkoskrilla6750 You know nothing about the South do you?
The very word "salary" ("salario" in italian) comes from the fact that Roman soldiers often got partially paid with salt ("sale" in italian).
That's almost correct. It doesn't come from Italian sale, it comes from Latin sal. It's very close tho. Sal is still the word used in other Latin languages.

Everyone saying get beans and rice then you better load up on double the rice because once it's out and you didn't buy any seeds to replant that store-bought rice will not grow but those beans will

Bartering ammo will bite your butt off
Regular Coffee does NOT go "Bad." If the seal on the lid is tight and there is a "vacuum" when one peels it back, then it's as good as the day it was bought. I know.
I have a lot of coffee back in my lauder and it tastes great brew after brew after brew. Some of it is 7 years old.
I love coffee. Tried instant coffee. It sucks. I rather go with out coffee then live with instant.
Could you share how you are storing it and in what form? whole bean? Mylar bag? etc
A bag with oxygen absorbers will work if you are vacuum challenged
#8 Cigarettes
Like a fine whiskey. And like good weed, it might even be better a few years later after a few years if stored properly. Don't judge me lmao caffeine is a drug too. One of the most addictive drugs on the planet. Caffeine and sugar
I’m disappointed someone named the Canadian prepper didn’t mention maple syrup!
Azithromycin will be worth more than all those combined.

Salt sweet and fat are the 3 things humans are hard wired to desire because they are hard to obtain in the natural environment….
I would note that if you don't grind the coffee beans and store them in a cool, dry, low oxygen environment (sounds familiar) they last a long time. The ground stuff goes bad. Your coffee grinder should not be electric.
Agree.
Agree. Instant coffee sucks.
I have an electric grinder, a manual crank grinder and a mortar/pestle. I think I'm covered.
@@Wolf9of9Odin I do as well. Try coffee beans in the mortar and pestel and you will be really happy about the manual grinder. You may have more luck than I did.
Storing unroasted coffee beans is the second longest storage method after instant. Of course you need to be able to roast the beans though.
Water is GOLD
No. If water was gold, I would be retired. Just don't live in a desert, and get a filter.
@@mosheshekelsteinspanbergbl5624 Well, good thing I have property with an artesian well that's never went dry. And yes if SHTF water is going to be gold. Maple syrup - like honey, does not go bad
And like honey, it's renewable in places were you can't grow sugar cane.
What do you mean bro it crystallizes in like a year or two I just threw a couple bottles out 😂
@@rivertjr6501 boil it and just stir it back in. At over $30 a quart, it’s too expensive to toss.
Wrong. Maple syrup goes bad and breaks down. Maple tree sap can be kept good for a veerrry long time then you use that to make what ya need
Vinegar lasts forever as well.
During a famine the government will come and take your food. Good luck
Armed gangs will do that long before any government entity. Daytime invasions will occur. Be ready and be creative about hiding your items.
I didn’t think of coco I will have to stock up! The rest I have a good amount but will continue to stock up as I can. Great information, thank you! 😊
Don't forget the water Canadian pepper...

I thought it kinda degraded like regular coffee?
If it is freeze dried than it does last a decade or more. Pods only last about a year.
I spend 20,000$ on honey a year ago. I also bought 5000$ worth of syrup.
I also spent 25,000$ on bottled water.

Will coffee is also grown in the states Green Mtn Coffee is right next to where I live and salt Morton salt is right there in Utah so as long as we have it here in states any of the items (as long as everything’s healthy no nuclear fallout or anything) the USA is a self reliant country we really don’t need any outside help. Oh you forgot tea even tho it’s not real American a lot of people still do.👍🏻
Ty for this. I'm buying more cocoa immediately! I'm good with everything else you mentioned
The fat makes it rancid rather quickly doesn't it? Same reason store brown-rice long term is ill advised too? 🤔
We store chocolate bars in the freezer wrapped in aluminum foil and a layer of tape to protect the foil they keep for years that way Guaranteed the wife will love you for this small Luxury We found some package that way and in my mom's freezer that had been there for decades after she had passed away and they were still perfectly good
@@kennethparker2168 thanks for that valuable advice.
Rice should be on the list
When it comes to seeds its the easiest and cheapest thing to stockpile if you know when to collect and how to store them. Each fruit gives a return just about for free, you could only wish you got from gold. Having seeds you know will grow locally and can be bartered with locals you’re on a winner. At least til everyone realises how easy it is to collect seeds.
Some seeds only last one to two years before they won't grow, you have to replant and harvest the seeds every year.
@@jerrysneedsr1066 true especially the onion family but some seeds will last decades well packed and protected. Hopefully you are growing a garden already to keep collecting seeds. I give away at least 20 times the seed i save each season to friends and neighbours. I want to get everyone growing around me then im not the lone target at least
I'm still trying to find taco and pizza seeds. 😆🌮🍕
Black pepper used to be worth more than gold on a weight basis during the medevil period.
Yeppers, I had this figured out when I first began prepping 20 years ago before everything was date coded. Also consider cinnamon and various spices that won't go rancid. 😎👍🏻
Cinnamon slows bleeding,as well as cayenne pepper. And lowers blood sugar.
Ground coffee goes bad?
Yes, ground coffee goes bad quickly! You can only store coffee beans long term! Ground coffee goes bad beginning the day it’s ground. The amount of time it takes depends on conditions; vacuum packed in dark conditioned space helps but rancid taste comes in at some degree in about a couple months.
Actually if it's in a sealed metal can from the manufacturer and kept at moderate temperature you will have little to zero concern. I still have some from 20 years ago and it's good enough for me. 😎👍🏻
Great information Nate! 👍🏻👍🏻💥
We're living in Doom and Gloom times, ladies and gentlemen.
Great advice thank you,
Green coffee beans last almost forever.
Roasting and grinding your own isn’t rocket science.
Very uncomplicated.
Been doing it for years.
Don't forget Peanut Butter, Rice, Instant potato flakes, individually wrapped hard candy and bottled water.
This is great plz make more!
honey isn't even good for you. gotta eat a whole lot for very little nutritional pay off. but definitely worth having on your prep shelf
You can make many remedies with honey..
Honey is used medicinally for wound care as well as making medicines palatable

Lead and molds to make weights, lures, and other things
Coffee beans in mylar with oxygen absorber pack.
I can’t wait for the "Paper Currency is making a comeback" in the far, far, far, future videos.
Ahah that’s not happening
Yeah, and the then millennials will think they invented something new and unique. And get praised for being so inventive.
You wouldn't want to see that day. By then many people wouldn't make it including many preppers.
Lets be real .... Everyone knows its gonna be ammo
What scenario are we preparing for?
Because everyone needs coco and coffee for survival 😑
Also on your last video you mentioned American pepper. I hope that is something to come
Great list! All things I'd want for sure
Seeds of Cocoa Plants? That's a fortune on a fortune.
When will greenhouses full of cocoa trees be growing in places other than their usual spots? And Coffee trees too.

ARRG, I can't believe I just dropped sugar flavored honey seeds in my salted instant coffee coco!! Man am I salty.
This will be the new currency in the new world!
Exactly! So you better start stacking silver and gold.
Think u nailed the top 7 Nate. Ur a hammer. 🔨
Bottle Caps (Fallout Lore)
I’m investing in Ovaltine 😅
Curious. While you can't really have too much of any of these if stored properly, what should be a baseline? How many pounds of this or that? What are y'all goals per person? For how many years are you stocked up?
There are lots of UA-cam videos that provide that information. If you do a little at a time, you'll learn as you go along and learn from others mistakes as well. Just do the best you can and you'll be fine. 😎👍🏻
Guns and ammo are the most important things to stock pile. Yall stock up that food for me, I appreciate it.
Yes they do thank you so much you can take an entire colonies worth in about five and a half pounds and start a giant Garden of Eden in the middle of nowhere that gets no Frost and no one would ever know. There's a couple places like that in the mountains out west they don't see any snow and they stay about average 68 degrees in the winter time and they're constantly getting son. Nobody knows about some of these places except for people in the government in the military but you can only access them by actually physically climbing or helicopter.. there's a place like that in Central America and one like that in the mountains of Tibet I've always wanted to try to get there I heard that there's stuff going on there that most people that don't know just don't know
Coffee beans last far longer than ground coffee. Still freeze dried coffee does last longer.
But fresh ground coffee is, simply awesome!
First thing that came to mind was toilet paper after 2020
Don't tell me I can't get a hold of Dude Wipes, or Tucks Pads and I'll cry...
Didn’t realize instant coffee lasts decades. I cannot live without coffee so I will stick up on instant. It’s not as good as regular coffee but the caribe is what I need to get going each day. Anyone recommend how to get large amounts for long term storage? Maybe Costco sized?
Honey is something nobody thinks about when it comes to food stockpiling. It can last practically forever. Sure it tends to crystalize over long periods but soaking in warm water can return it back into it's edible form.

Instant or soluble coffee was invented and patented in 1890, by David Strang of Invercargill, New Zealand, under patent number 3518 sold under the trading name Strang's Coffee citing the patented "Dry Hot-Air" process.
Black pepper!
3000 pounds of black pepper was used to lift the siege of Rome in the 5th century along with silver, gold, silk, and wool fleeces.
I have a video of a single blackhawk helicopter unmarked going over my house in Florida on the gulf coast
Probably trapping dogman.
How can alcohol be used as currency?
You can barter with it after shtf. People will want anything to take the edge off and help them escape reality for a bit, not to mention it could be used for some medicinal purposes. A few cheap bottles of vodka and whiskey is a good addition to your preps
People will want it and trade you things for it. Also severe alcoholics need to continue drinking as quitting has a high mortality rate (about 10% chance of death)
Facts. Smokers are also in that category. Someone who is addicted to nicotine would also give up almost anything for a pack of cigarettes or a can of dip. Those are also a good thing to have a few of on hand. Even people who don’t drink or smoke now but would probably trade to get alcohol or tobacco after shtf just to take the edge off. The other kind of smoke, the green stuff, is also good to have to barter.
@@juice_man4439 nicotine patches would be worth storing if you have a smoker in your household, but the “vice tax” on cigarettes, makes them a less desirable prep item, unless you have a lot of smokers in your i mediate area.
@@kater.7563, cigarettes are a poor long-term prep item. It is better to get sealed tins of tobacco, and tubes to be stored in a rat-proof container.
Disposable lighters. Tobacco. Deodorant and tampons. Soap. Clean underwear. Clean girls.
Tobacco
Bags of it, plus the tubes
@@hexzerone7034 , use the tubes for barter, as it is what the masses are accustomed, but get a pipe for yourself, as it is much more efficient.
@@mosheshekelsteinspanbergbl5624 I have both lol
Tobacco as well because of the smokers

Wtf no tea ☕ in the list 🤣🤣
Sugar would be on the list cuz at first people needed to get canes in tropics but that's not the case for centuries now since Russians figured out how to make sugar from beats
You can grow super cane just about anywhere. What you need to find is a canepress. Sorghum molasses, all the sugar you'll need. Lay in some burley tobacco seeds
@@malcolmmeer9761 everywhere?
@@Roman-kk1ic anywhere you can grow oats or wheat you can grow sugarcane. It's a basic grass, and it doesn't have to ripen. , you squeeze the juice and boil it down to a syrup
I plan on getting some of those asst airline bottles of alcohol for barter.
Moonshine and tobacco, these are always in demand when shit goes sideways.
Coco can be harvested in North America.
Commodities just for barter and trade. To put a price on anything you need silver there’s no other substitute gold but that backs the silver.
Much as I like cocoa, except maybe to barter with, it wouldn't be high on my list. Definitely everything else. How about rechargeable batteries and some way to charge them like solar?
this info has been around forever... if sheep are just catching on now, then all the best to them
great list! I agree 100%. now aside from seeds, I'm getting liquor, honey, sugar and salt!
I believe my un opened coffee will last longer than I do, have quite a bit of freeze dried too but 🤮
People should just grow their own food, like sure have a few weeks to a month of food storage just in case. But growing your own food, veggies, herbs, fruit trees. Composting. Should be something everyone does. Keeping chickens and bees as well. And if you have enough property other animals or a food forest.
The ships will NEVER stop. Well go back to sails if need be. Lmao.
Rice and flour and pepper and many spices that will be gone before people realize it is precious
Guns and ammo would be top trading items
Non perishable food is #1, next is spirits, finally coffee and salt, but not for preserving food, that uses way too much, but as a vital nutrient that’s rationed.
Bullets will be more valuable than gold 😂😂😂
