Absolutely great comment. Its all fun and games when people joke about him being tipsy and drunk when its not its something only idiots can laugh about i watched my dad also I work at a homeless hostel and I see the alcoholics go through terrible things. So I couldn't agree with you more 👍

brilliant - praises Brian Moore as the best commentator on the network and then they hand over to...Alan Parry , he sounded a bit miffed lol

Brian Clough a true 'Derby Fan' he always supported the 'Super Rams' Sheep Shag Barmy Army...

He did. Lived in Derby, died in Derby and as he says in the above video his time with us was this "happiest" of his managerial career.

If it wasn't for a board chairman who thought he was bigger than the club and it's supporters, Clough would never have left Derby.

    • @sawleyram7405

There's a video on UA-cam somewhere of him reflecting on his past and in that video he says that looking back, the Chairmen should have left -- not himself.

I bet Forest fans weren't too pleased at Cloughie's "happiest time of my managerial career" comment.

    • @Georgiahulse
      @Georgiahulse 6 років тому +4

Why? He lived in Derby most of his life, managed Derby for 6 years, made Derby English champions, took Derby to the European semi finals, gave us a golden era and eventually died in Derby.
In his own words -- "Derby is a footballing town, Nottingham never has been".

I remember spurs won this 1-0 thanks to a very scrappy goal by Lineker and after the match Clough saying that if Shilton had been younger he would have saved it.
What followed in the press (mainly in the tabloids) for a couple of days after this match was a war of words between Clough and Shilton with Lineker and Vennables jumping to Peter Shilton's defence.

Yes I got a good view of that goal sat in the Normanton end when I was ten :)

A regular on the popside that season. Wright and Saunders legendary just a shame Maxwell had to screw it all up. As we used to chant "always look on the bright side of life"!

Clough on the decline here, but doesn't look anywhere near as bad as he did a couple of years later when he retired after Nottingham Forest's relegation from the Premier League.

Brian Clough was a legendary manager despite his battle with alcoholism.
Remember the lilywhites winning this one 0-1 with a goal from Gary Lineker and thus completing a league double over the Rams for the 1st time in many years!!!!

Elton welsby was at a loss what to say when Clough came out with his witticisms, fun to watch Elton squirm and pass the buck on! Before now, those were the last days Spurs pushed really hard in the league.
    RIP cloughie

@paoloblanc that should be gone "are" the days.
And thank god. Football is much better for it. Less tactically moronic, much more graceful and beautiful.

Used to stand outside the main door after matches to get the away team autographs. 99% if the time, they were great, The Spurs team that played on this day tho were complete arrogant Arseholes :-\ even the Forest team would spend time with the fans!
