@@greyr.4326 it's ok, I'm used to it now but it does really suck. It makes me think something is wrong with me because a father is supposed to love his child. But he has a few children, both from my mum and another woman and doesn't care about them either so it's nothing to do with me. In all honesty, my dad is a horrible person, so I'm actually alot better off without him. My mum brought me up and she was all I needed :) but I do imagine the idea of spending time with a dad and things we would do. It would've been nice if he was there for me in certain situations. They're supposed to look after you, be there for you to confide in and protect you from being hurt. Teach you things. Don't be scared. Parents just care about who you bring home. They just want to know the person is decent. My advice is date/go out with the person for a while and see if it's actually going to go somewhere, if it does, then bring them home, you may find you're excited to introduce them because you want it. But I never brought anyone home to meet my mum haha. I got too shy about it for some reason. 💖 also, it sounds like your step dad cares alot more about you then your real dad. There are men who can either be fathers or simply be the guy who gives the sperm haha. It takes a real man to bring up his kids. Maybe your step dad is more of a dad then your real dad.

I have step siblings and it's hard because they think I took their dad away from them even though I went through hell just to not off myself because I hated being a burden to them and my parents. I knew that was a lie but I was sick of it and selfishly thought of how easy it'd be to just escape. Even though I'm glad I didn't I still sometimes feel that way again. Like you were saying, it makes you feel like something is wrong with you, when your dad doesn't love you. Mine even remarried and didn't tell my sister or I till his second kid

My dad just left his first kids behind and brought up his second lot. He's not a great dad so his second daughter has nothing to do with him but he's got two other sons who lives with him. For years it hurt me that he had another daughter and brought her up. It really affected me. But now...I've come to a point where I've grown and realised he's the one who missed out on me.
