rockstar took actually one of the best paths in gaming industry by improving and taking care of movement and physics of the world which imho is the future . not many do so , the movement and interactions are static mostly

Optimized for consoles, that is. I remember a lot of the PC settings being completely broken and important features arriving very late after the game's launch. It is a nightmare to get the game to look and function right as someone with just a moderately powerful PC.

I think for the thousands of us that get excited about game Devs that love to create living breathing open worlds, it's difficult not to go into a frenzy imagining what years of world building by rockstar will lead us all to when we finally get to live and play in GTA6. Especially when you consider the magnificence of the game we are watching here is 6 years old ! We're not just getting a graphical upgrade to a an amazing franchise....I think it's fair to say the way you interact with the world will be game changing...and possibly ground breaking. If rumours are to be believed, Rockstar is spending close to 2 billion dollars to bring GTA6 to life, and I for one can't wait to see what that kind of money looks like in 2025.
Veteran gamer here. I've played many, many games. RDR2 is one of the best games ever made in history. Probably THE best. It's full of content and things to do. Hunting, fishing, bounty hunting, mystery solving. Plenty of action and an amazing and moving main story. 50-100hrs of immersive gameplay. Incredible graphics. Incredible weather. You will really feel like you are there. You could spend years playing this game. Just travelling on your horse and camping somewhere and fishing is fun. So many situations feel incedental. I don't know how they do it technically but the people really seem real. It really feels like you are in 1899 America. If you love classical western movies, you'll not regret buying a good set up to play this game. Red Dead Redemption (2010) is not bad either. No need to buy an expensive pc. A playstattion5 or Xbox series X with a good monitor and a good heatset would be good enough.
I think the time has come for game developers to start training every object in open-world games to behave as they would in the real world, rather than relying on pre-scripted animations. This would make the experience far more immersive and realistic.

must be amazing to sit half a meter away from a 65 inch monitor to notice the difference between 4k and 8k... and yes you can always double check that with optimal viewing distance charts for 8k to be worth it over 4k...

I think they secretly been working on part III. The rest of destinations on fast travel map. Not much difference in graphics, it was already ahead of time. Coming out for a surprise with GTA6.
The foliage and alot of effects look like they were ripped straight out of GTA V. The worst thing about that game was the pop up of cars and objects in the distance. Is this any better, given it's probably the same engine? At least it's hard to tell, as there isn't going to be much traffic (unless there's an online option)
It is a vastly improved version of GTA Vs engine. Really not very comparable to each other. And there can be a lot of "traffic", especially within larger cities. Lots of NPCs walking and riding around. Pop in issues have mostly been resolved, although on lower settings I have noticed some issues with that, especially if you run the game on older hardware.
Timeline of the game requires thematic flavour, which force shadows the 1800 life style environment. So the Ultra-Realistic mods for RDR 2 actually spoils the game essence. For GTA5 it feels great.

I can buy this game for a laptop with a 17" qhd(1440p) screen, or I can buy it for PS5 and a 32" 4K OLED monitor, I guess the latter is a better choice. This game would be even more amazing in a good VR headset with VR shoes, which are crazy expensive right now, but the experience would be just like you're walking in 1899.

When you’re playing in 8k native circa 30-35fps. Dlss and FG you are between 65-80fps. 8k is a god damn task understandably.
