I had a chance to meet OLJ about 12 years ago on the set of GLEE. I couldn't believe how good she looked, She looked just like she did in GREASE.. And I told her I think G-2 stunk. And that they need to do GREASE THE LATER YEARS.. Reprising her and John's roles. She liked the idea...
Please never let them do a makeover of this film. The entire thing is perfection. The cast the songs it was and still is my favourite movie so leave it alone

The cast were fantastic, and Jeff Conaway (Kenickie) was a really underrated acting talent!
In the theater production Kenickie was the one who sang this song. I feel like it’s kinda obvious that part of his character is missing in the movie, that he should have had more.

Of all the songs featured in the movie (I never bothered to go see it in a theater myself), played incessantly throughout the summer of '78, this one was the only one I admitted I liked. I did end up seeing the movie on HBO and had to think it might have been fun to watch it with an audience. 🤔

Condolences to dame Olivia Newton John family she will always be remembered as sandy, an Aussie icon, amazing singer and great mother. Danny has the voice you could never forget along with kenickie. I’ve grown up with grease and top gun nothing will ever take their places in my heart. Please don’t let them do a remake cause nothing is the same as an original. I would love my kids to grow up with the same original movies I did and the same great casts. I love the look on kenickie face when he say I kill to get it ready.

Me too. Kenickie was one of my first crushes, especially in this song (and that moment at 2:46). He had a sexy, cheeky, bad boy thing going on, and it always surprised me that he wasn't more popular - it seemed like a 'scene-stealing' role. But I have this thing where I tend to to like characters (and actors and musicians) who aren't necessarily the main stars. (I used to be a fan of a 90s Brit girl band called Kenickie, and they said they named themselves that because they preferred Kenickie and Rizzo to the leads in the movie.)

This was one of the greatest scenes ever filmed!! I'm surprised they didn't delete that line about description of the car. Times changed.

Most of the dialogue from.the film is in the live action verison of Grease...my nephew was to be Kenickie in a high school production of Grease doing this song.

Jeff Conoway got shafted in two ways on this song. 1. He was supposed to sing it, not Travolta. But Travolta has the clout and wanted the number so… and 2. He seriously injured his back during filming. This injury would eventually contribute to his later substance abuse issues. He was actually supposed to play Danny because he had been playing that role on Broadway for 2 years. But when the time came to film the movie, Travolta got the lead.
