The story is developed end of the 50's with a song with rhythm and sound of the end of the 70's.
Yet it works so well.
I was gonna say, it’s pretty amazing how this song sounds both 50s and 70s at the same time, and is brilliant to boot

Few cool facts about this song.
It was written by Barry Gibb but he decided to have Frankie Valli sing it because he thought people were getting burnt out on his vocals after Saturday Night Fever and Frankie and Barry sing in the same range.
Peter Frampton is playing guitar.
Frankie Valli didn’t even have a record deal when he sang this.
He signed with Warner’s and this song sold 8 million copies.
It does have that Bee Gees twist.. Right on for the tip.
Thank you for posting this info, patton303. I was about 8 years old when the movie was out. Was just about to start to googling 'cause i was SO sure in my (false) memory of this being a Bee Gees tune, lol !!

The greatest "opening credit " bit of all time. The animated , so beautifully edited and orchestrated.
I must disagree. Greatest opening credit ever was SUPERMAN (1978). GREASE is #2. I watched both movies with my parents in the cinema when they came out. I was only 6, and they were the first movies I ever watched.

My parents were 3 years old when the movie was released (although it was released about 3 months before my mother turned 3)
That's really funny my mother bought me this album Right after it was released and I was also 7 years old. Me and my friends used to dance around the house to it.
Nice to hear, I was born in June 78 and “you’re the one that I want” was no 1 in the Uk.

This probably makes me sound REALLY old haha, but I actually saw this film at the drive-in with my family as a young child back in the late 70s when it was a new release. This opening song and title sequence is one of the most potent memories I have of that great period in time and it takes me straight back there. I remember playing on the drive in playground before the film started in my pyjamas. We then went to the candy bar for a choc top before settling in to the movie. I also saw Star Wars at the same drive in! Going to the movies was a big deal back then. At the cinema, there was always a short feature and then an interval before the main feature. Everyone clapped and cheered at the end of the film. This clapping stopped around the mid 80s when video stores became prominent.
@@GAVACHO5150 The movies were so magical to me when I was a kid in the 80s. So much has changed. Now people in the theaters don't even watch the movies, because they're obsessed with their phones, or they just talk through the film. It's so sad. It will never be the same.

I wanted to be cool, like Rizzo! 😩 I’m still a Sandy to this day and I am happily married to my American husband. He looked just like Danny when we first met.
