Wow this was a clean tape! The music in those ABC bumpers really tugs on the memories. And oh man, those chewy cough squares, they were always getting smushed in the medicine cabinet growing up and sticking to everything lol. ...and now I'm going to be wondering all night over what 'the latest on Martin Sheen' (7:50) was all about. :P
If I had to pick an all time favorite commercial it would be the Folgers Christmas one. Growing up in the 80's it wasn't the season until I saw that commercial. When they stopped playing it years ago...just so many feels I can't put it into words. I just welled up watching it.
Ah the Herb commercials. Now used by texts to illustrate how not to organize advertising campaigns. Burger King's business actually fell as a result. Who would have thought I would be watching these again a quarter of a century later, I was 42, on the other side of the country and living in my own place that I pay for? The mind boggles! Great stuff.
Thanks for this series of commercials! For some reason, I don't get email alerts when any videos are uploaded. Spoiler:Red Wings lose to Whalers, 2-5. I don't think any Red Wing fan watched the highlights of the game judging by their season record: 17-57-6. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985%E2%80%9386_Detroit_Red_Wings_season
28 years later as of a few weeks prior to this date of 10/26/2014, China surpasses the US as the world's strongest economy. also the cereal commercial with the man and lady singing on the piano, i believe that's a young Tori Amos
1:16 MOUSTACHE ... and I think Ted McGinley never ages.
That ABC Voice over guy can make anything sound EPIC!!!

Emma Samms, Ted McGinley, AND Barry Manilow??? Sounds like rockingest New Year's Eve ever!
That Ford Blockbuster commercial cannot be duplicated anywhere else at anytime. It truly was a product of the 80s!
Folger's commercial is classic. Still love it even today.
