Please review sound scoops.
21" super scoops or bust.
Yes! Let's see those bad boys in action.
Lets see how plastic works compared to 75$ sound bar or a low end 20$ receiver and two 30$ speakers
I'm genuinely curious whether they do more than nothing.
Sound scoop vs poop scoop
Yes! Review the sound scoops! Then see if you can make your own!
Then put them head to head!
Build yourself, THEN review it. There's really no reason to invest money here.
I made some using pooper scoopers that were bought as a halloween gag! Cookies anyone?
Not really an investment lol
I'm here in 2020... still waiting for the sound scoops review.
lol agreed friend..
@ZesPak - Me too, see my comment, hopefully they will do a review as I think it will work from personal experience. Grab a tablet or Phone with speakers on the back, cup your hands around the sides as if to redirect the sound. It works at increasing the volume or redirecting the sound, not dramatically, but it does work.
Yeah, too!
yea bro
@@TOM-C. I had made aluminum foil sound scoops for a tv that sent the sound out the lower back and right out the bedroom door into the hall. The scoops work great.
Where’s the sound scoops review? 😞

I'm dissappointed that there's still no sound scoop review
Review the directional flaps
Yes, and in fact, go further: see if those directional flaps can work for different sound redirection applications, and if they can act as sound isolators in an capacity.
DurradonXylles why did I read that as sound erections.. I need some sleep lmao.
review the sound scoops
Ill buy YOU a Sound Scoooopsss if he reviews it xD
I remember hooking up a pair of computer speakers when we got our first HDTV, it was an amazing improvement, seriously, we ended up getting the Sony HT CT 100 3.1 with HDMI pass through for 3 HDMI and that back in 2008 and that thing still sound fantastic.
Iv'e had this for two years and still going strong. I recommend this.
I Dare you,... Review the Sound Re-Directors!
pls
But you'd have to direct that.
i double dare you!!!!
yes please
Just bought my parents the 5.1 Vizio sound bar set. At first, the 2.1 speakers in the 65” Q70 were pretty good for a bedroom, but since it’s been warming up here in So Cal the fan and or AC muffles the sound causing them to up the volume to the max. I liked the Vizio SB3651-E6 because of its ARC function and the fact that the powered sub was wireless and also provided the signal and power for the surround speakers(and the price). I put the sub in the back corner of the room and put the surround speakers on their bed posts. The nightstands and headboard hide both speaker cables nicely. It also has an HDMI input which I ended up using for their 4K BD player. The end result is one remote to control their Spectrum DVR, TV, BD player and soundbar. It sounds pretty clear and loud and everything integrates with no issues. Makes self quarantine that much more comfortable.
i actually bought 2 of those sound bars by mistake, ended up keeping them and using them on my pc, its dope!
I think people want you to review Scoops

Got a new 55" which had no stereo output, but still had headphone output. Ran a cable from this output to AUX in on the old 20-yearl-old stero and it was great
i bought a Kinyo sounbar and it sounds amazing ! has epic bass and crisp clarity the built in eq is useful
I need a review of those soundscoops!
REVIEW THE SOUND DIRECTORS
As for an air scoop that works with down firing speakers, try Air Vent Diverters. They come curved or 45 deg flat. It is clear and has two halves and is enough for one TV; tape or velcro holds them in place. I like the curved on my 43" TCI/Roko TV. The sound is much improved because the mids and highs are directed at the listener. Still not good enough for action soundtracks, but they work. Got mine at home depot about a year and a half ago.
I enjoy your videos. You are Very Informative and entertaining at the same time. Thanks Harold.

Hell yeah I want to see a review of stuff that you slam behind your TV to get better sound!
Skedda hey, cupping hand behind tablet and phone speakers works, so why wouldnt this? I want a review lol
I upgraded my entire living room a few weeks ago with a Sony A8H, and Z9F sound bar (With satellite speakers), and have never looked back!
They replaced a Sony Bravia from 2008, 500 watt receiver, 1,000 watt sub amp, 2 HUGE front channel speakers, 2 ambient front speakers, and 2 rear channel speakers. Oh, plus, 90,000 feet of speaker wires...
Now I have one HDMI cable, and the satellites are wireless.
While it doesn't shake the house like my old system, it works perfectly, and has given me back my living room!
I've owned this sound bar for several years and it has been great for basic TV and movie watching, especially when combined with a sub.
YES, SOUND SCOOPS, DO IT! DON'T LET THIS THOUGHT BE JUST A THOUGHT, MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Funnily enough the LG C8 tv stand acts like a sound scoop by design
pls review the sound scoops and then 3d print an extreme version for extra fun :D
Alternately make some from cardboard and sticky back plastic
That is awesome idea ! should try to 3d print a better solution!! or make it some other horrible janky way ... like you probably will end doing anyway but if I was you I try to make one out some cardboard first, like cut a side out of a shoe box and then use the lid to make the curve inside the box and some tape
Just saved you 20 bucks
W/tempered glass and RGB
I recently installed the Nakamachi 9.2.4. Dolby ATMOS sound bar, and let me tell you, it is an amazing piece of equipment. The price is not that cheap, around 1300 US dollars, but for that price, it offers an amazing IMAX like type of experience. I would safely pit this setup against systems costing thousands of dollars more.
ive seen a 11.1.2 for the same price approx ... i just thought about how it sounds and it must be insane ... i got a 2.1 bar with dts x and dolby digital + its really amazing for few movies or shows i watch also have 7.1 dts:x headphones that included the decoder and dts headphone x and that sounds so good
Just got a Sonos Playbar and even though it’s almost 6 years old, it sounds amazing
You should absolutely review those pieces of plastic. I think it would be great to see it taken to the next level by pairing that with cheap TVs and very expensive ones alike.

Please review the sound scoops
Hey, that was my 1st soundbar......back in late 2015! Not bad for the money and as long as one can live with TOSLINK Digital versus HDMI ARC, a really good deal. I grabbed two on promo for $49.99 each, one from Newegg, the other from B&H audio/video. Only one slight difference was the model number, mine are the SB2920x-C6, can't recall the difference, only that it was minor (maybe the inclusion of a TOSLINK cable and/or one is wall mountable, the other not). At one time, these would later sell for as much as $109.99 & some sites were rating it as the 'best' or near top of the list sub-$200 soundbars. Supports different sound profiles of the TV's also, if using with a VIZIO TV, have to place in PCM mode when using TOSLINK. Volume up to 4-5 lights from bottom upwards is very acceptable, above that, comes distortion. Lights dancing with sound a nice touch.
Of course this would be before the Yamaha YAS-108 (& lower cost store model of the same in the ATS-1080) with HDMI ARC with full 4K support & BT 5.0 appeared.
One of my two are still sealed. will use it sometime, the other was placed back in it's box when I snagged the ATS-1080 at Costco for $99.99. Can't beat the sound, especially in the $50-80 range. Often when they'd 'die' all that was needed being pressing the right combo of buttons, why there were so many refurbs, this instruction wasn't in the manual. It's what I did & worked fine. Unplugging & replugging the AC socket wasn't a fix.
BTW, this soundbar supports an earlier version of BT also, maybe 4.0? Whatever, these were worth their Black Friday 2015 price of $49.99 shipped from each retailer (limit of one).
Excellent review. Just went thru this process. Have a 32" Samsung smart tv no bluetooth for $250. Didn't want to buy a $600 Sonos speaker so went with a new Samsung HW-T400 40-Watt 2.0 Channel Sound Bar with only offering an optical audio jack to connect it and that cord you have to buy as it's not included. In the end, it totally does the job of getting that muffled sound aimed at the bottom of the TV counter and redirects it to ear level towards my face's audio processing equipment aka ears. It is so much better than what was coming out of my tv's speakers. The remote of the bar actually has a bass button and it does work but I don't need bass. I'm looking for clarity and crispness, page turning sounds, smacking of lips, crackling of wood sounds. Clean, crisp, clear. The bar is $100. Now the big test will be to watch something with an undercarriage of a music track and see if that blurs or distorts sound while people are talking or even not talking. There shouldn't be any vibration with that music track if the soundbar is decent enough. Stay turned. I really appreciate your frankness and directness with this subject of soundbars and tvs along with your touch of clever humor. That's my scene, man.
Review that thing
THEY ARE OBLIGED! XD
Review the sound directors.
That stuff will work, I have a surface pro that has the speaker on the side, so if I put both my hands behind it and around the sound is close to twice the volume :D I even tried that with post-it's and it works, but do not expect any Dolby Surround effect hehe XD
Am I the only one who thought in the middle of this video about sound directors even though I never heard of them? Please Linus, review them.
StormyIceLeopard I'll be live streaming ksi vs logan and deji vs Jake
So stay tuned😊
i just wanna say i appreciate the fact you didnt wanna trigger my alexa, much love.
I was wondering why he didn't say it right :)
I love the Mario sunshine sound track playing in the background.
i would really like to see a review of those sound scoops. The Idea sounds already shitty, so does the sound?
Review the plastic please
+1
well, i've njoy your style, looking forward to review!
That redirecting the sound using pieces of plastic actually works. I did that in the 90's and my housemates were sceptical, but it worked. I used of all things a cut off end of a dirt bike mudguard.
Hmmm I would review the scoops. I'm curious if we are all being scammed to getting these soundbars.
Steven Da sub to me
Sound scoops have been used in marching bands for decades, so it's definitely worth the review. They are installed on the underside of snare/tenor drums.
Yes review the scoops
Yeah, I would like to see a side-by-side comparison of the TV speakers shown here with scoops vs the cheap sound bar.

Lol I would LOVE to see you guys review those sound scoop thingies! At least we can find out if they suck or not.
So I'm currently trying to inform myself about improving my *SONY KD-77A1's* already impressive sound game by adding wireless surround speakers to it when I stumbled over this video.
Can't say I'm keen on getting a Soundbar yet so I'll be continuing my research on my wireless connectivity options.
Linus pls *don't drop* the idea of reviewing the sound scoops.
hehe.. actually .. yes: do the review of the "velcrys"
Benito Llan Matos please bold the "don't" as well
I'm kinda disappointed they didn't include the link in the video description on where to buy. LOL
Linus is the boss. He knows what to do.
Yeah... He's shitting on the sound scoops, but my Marylin Manson sounds good as hell with the scoops -- And it don't skip.
The world wants, nay NEEEEEEEDS a sound scoops review!!!
You should totally review sound scoops and do some make shift ones as well! I use my hands cupped on the sides of my cell phone to redirect the sound from the speakers at the top and bottom of my cell phone and improve sound quality sometimes, why not experiment with some flat screen TVs?
I have that exact same soundbar and it does get loud and it's got Crystal clear quality. And it's also got very good quality bass and very good quality treble.
Please review the scoops
Yes review sound scoops
My parents have a panasonic viera plasma from around 2008 and the sound quality is actually very good. Clear and good bass.
I'm literally listening to this with my integrated monitor speaker (I have a Sony HT-CT370 sound bar and wireless subwoofer, but someone's using that right now)
Sound scoops
YES A REVIEW PLEASE
REVIEW THE SCOOPS!
I am still impressed of the sound and also the bass that comes out of my 2018 55" Samsung QLED TV.
i've watched it with my monitor speakers. I could understand pretty clearly. Still looking for a budget 2.1 speaker tho.
Yamaha usually does good ones. Yas108 is often 100 refurbished
Sound Scoop Review FTW !!!
Review the plastic
Im curious about it too lol
i concur. review dat plastic
i mean it could work if you want to make shit simple for an old person... But yeah 20 is crazy and the autophile shit is bs
Definitely review da scoops!!
StableEntropy Hell yes!
Sound scoops are ingenious despite being disappointing. i have a set of them made from a cheap 3D printer that I use in my bedroom. It definitely helped better than reflecting sound of the back wall, but wasn't anything to write home about.
Please review the scoops. I know this is an old video, but that would be just too awesome.
REVIEW IT
My first thought was “Linus I doubt EVERYONE is buying this speaker”
I then looked to my right and realized the sound bar my parents bought is this bar
Hahaha
I also have this bar, that's why I clicked 😂
Honestly, I would suggest buying a refurbished Yamaha sound bar over this one. It's only little bit more and the sound quality is WAY better.
My dad has a better version of this that has a wireless subwoofer and is longer. Kinda annoyed they didn't mention the other options but 🤷♂️
What is "🤷♂️" supposed to mean? "Meh, Guys..."??
I have two of these sound bars, one is the 2.0 and the other 2.1. Both are great! I did try the JBL 3.1 which cost almost $500 and had to return 2 of them because they would not work properly with my tv for some reason.
I purchased the Vizio family. TV, sound bar on a couple tvs , sub, 2 surround sound speakers in living room and Crave 360 speaker. The built in chrome cast is nice to pair all of them. I take the 360 speaker outside. It was all reasonably priced on sale around the Holidays. I’ve had it for 3 years now. Figure if it only lasts me another few more years I’ll be ok with it because by then I’m sure they’ll be out with the latest and greatest like Alexa or AirPlay which they’re starting to come out with now.
You really must review the sound scoops
review the scoops
Why not ? Go Linus !!
+
Agreed
Review the scoops and noone gets hurt.
The OnePlus 6's speaker is much better if you cup your hand over it, I'm guessing it's the same here. Yeah I'd be interested in seeing how much these would improve a crappy tv speaker.
Nothing beats my Yamaha YAS-207 at that price range.
It's the only audio anything I've ever turned on the virtual surround... The Virtual DTS:X on this thing blew my mind.
I still have no idea how they did it without making it sound like cats screaming in a concrete mixer.
Finally getting a soundbar for my Dell U3011 I am re-purposing as a small bedroom TV for my girlfriend and I. I didn't want to replace my 60" 4k Vizio and put that in the bedroom until I could get a BFGD. Saw the Omen's 5K USD price and decided to just buy a cheaper 32" 1440p 144hz Viotek from Amazon to satisfy my CounterStrike needs.
The Dell monitor has audio out from DP or HDMI but no manual volume control on the monitor which created problems when we are both gaming and one of us wants to use the TV and the other is forced to switch inputs and game at the desk with the Dell. This soundbar having a remote solves my issues and prevented me from going down the path of putting a 60" TV in the bedroom that has no other logical option than wall mount. I really didn't feel like drilling in a place we are going to be moving out of soon anyways.
Big fan Linus, you and your team are great and you were a nice dude when we met at an NCIX in Mississauga in 2011. Keep up the good work!
SOUND SCOOPS, COME MY WAY!!
Can I get sound scoops for my downwards firing iPhone speaker?
Wizardmon use you’re hands
I'd like to see a review of the sound scoops. They could be a good temporary solution for someone buying a new TV with a plan to get real speakers later.
PAPO1990 I'm using a "sound scoop" on my phone, with my hand, cupped over the speaker and redirecting sound towards the front. It actually improves sound quality a lot.
Jaroslaw Filiochowski actually, so do I, yeah, we REALLY need a video on this now
@@JaroslawFiliochowski I also do this. My loud speaker on my phone is in the back :(
I have a similar Vizio sound bar, though mine has a sub that's connected wirelessly. I'm sure it's garbage, but it sounds way better to my tin ear, and that little sub is surprisingly powerful.
I love my old Klipsch hd theater sb3 soundbar. It's almost as loud as my 5.1 setup with Dali blue 5005 series speakers and NAD amplifier.
Please review the sound scoops. I bet they actually work very well!
Review Sound Scoops, Please. It could be funny.
“Or as I call it, this sound bar” 😂😂😂
I have Beam for my PC and it sounds amazing.
DO SOUND SCOOPS XD
Barrett Goss what is that?
XD
DO IT
I disagree with Brandon please review the thing you talked about at the end even tho 19.99 is a bit too much for foam pieces
I need sound scoops for my floorstanding speakers.
Yes! Absolutely review sound scoops!
once upon a time tv's had nice wooden consoles with two huge 15" speakers that included stereo and record player
Yes definitely review that! I bet a bunch of people buy it and it doesn't really work that well LOL or it's going to work fantastic and be a total surprise haha 🤣
Matthew Tortorelli exactly. But he should do it very early because otherwise we would lose the "conection" with this video right here...
for sure do a DIY alternative to those as well
and compare it to cardboard and duct tape :3
smart people would pay £30 on some PC surround speakers ,then least u got surround than a shitty sioundbar thats 3x the price
I have a radical solution fot the crappy sound of modern flat TVs, espacially the small ones (because there are still some decent sound on 43" screens and up). It's boycott. Don't buy their shit until they understand that sound is a main feature on a TV even if we don't think about sound when buying a screen, because we simply take it fot granted that no TV manufacturer would take the stupid risk to sell a TV featuring a walkman sound.
But yet... they DID IT!!!
And a sound bar is not a solution. They're all weak until you add a real subwoofer or an actual home cinema, which is not affordable for everyone who is looking for no more than a 32 inch screen. Well, as long as there's a unexplainable black hole between 32" and 40" which just make things worst for the former middle-class which is becoming as you might know, a lower middle class if not worst, these days.
BRANDON IS WRONG!
P.S. try making your own from something interesting like cement or fibreglass or chipboard
Agreed. Review them and also make your own to compare. But maybe use something I have lying around the house so that I can duplicaye it if its cool.
Balsa Wood, its easy to curve.
But balsa wood would vibrate too much?
uhm cement? you must be wanting to destroy your TV or something pretty sure once you use cement your speakers stop working
I know I like the sound of maple and rosewood on guitars, maybe try that?
10/10 Linus dropping a big soundbar with BIG wasted tag, would watch again.
Ha, just found this video and have had this speaker for a few years. I use it as a PC speaker and I bought this model mainly because it was short, very few others were < 30" wide. It is annoying it has no HDMI input, but other than that it works fine. But for the $39 I paid for it, it's a good deal.

YES just yes
Scoops does increase the volume, you can try it with your phone or tablet. Just make your hand into a C and put it in front of the speaker. For me though I will go with a surround system for my TV.
Popping in a two years later to say that I've seen it on 3 TVs now that when connected via optical, the TV must be set to PCM or there will be an audio delay. I have a similar Vizio 2.1 soundbar on a Vizio M-55 series (2019) model, and my buddy has a Samsung 2.1 soundbar connected to his Samsung 65'' 6900 series and both needed to be switched to a PCM audio stream.
