I think Seer will find the skill ceiling in the next 5 years. It will come to the point that everytime a useful new mechs is discovered, Seer leans it in a day or 2 and is just unbeatable
@@westisthewaytogo these bots might soon give us a glimpse at what high level RL games could/should look like. Might just bring to light other mechanics/strats we haven't even thought of yet.

when I was young in high school, I had a group of friends who’s humor was to basically say the most horrendous things you could think of. They didn’t believe what they were saying, but were still extremely immature. the point is none of them were actually racist, sexist, or homophobic. They just wanted to say terrible things for a laugh. I think nwpo is a young immature kid who is just learning that you can say terrible things and get a laugh out of other young immature kids

It would be cool to see a 3v3 version of Seer. I also want to train against it but I know epic don't like that... I wish they'd just pay you and implement it into the game. Think about how good people would get :)

Also, maybe you should set an extra flag for when the clock has not yet started and the time left until it does start (unless someone touches it) on a kickoff, just to fully complete Seer's sense of the game.

I wish Epic/Psyonix would implement these into the game.. or just allow anyone to play against them. I would love to be able to go into a private match with a friend and train against these. That would really turn the game around for the better, if they did that..
my goto-warmup is 1vs4 against bots. and i got the feeling they got better over the years, still no aerials but reading the ball.
Can't wait until Seer figures out mechanics like chain dashing, speed flipping, and physical play...
They look like theyre trying for resets, if they get to that point, everyones done!

cant wait for upcoming seer updates! maybe you should give the bot a reward for defending from backwall then they will easily be able to save resets/double taps and other hard aerial plays since the bot never does that and thats a essential thing to do in high ranked 2v2
I think in order for Seer to defend against double taps, it would also need to be able to do double tabs...so the next version will be doublely deadly 😯

@Swaeshy based on my very surface level knowledge, you’d probably have to add a new “input” of demoing or dodging demos, and that would affect all levels of seers gameplay, which likely means he would have to fully retrain the AI, otherwise known as a shot ton of time implementing and a shit ton of time training. This is probably not 100% accurate because I’m not super educated on it, but something like that.
Just put down the controller when these bots start wall dashing 😅
Ah man, based on the title I would have been much more intrigued to check out how TRK and Nwpo did vs Seer, but unfortunately, I heard you announce the results in the Atomik Tox video! Oh well, I guess the gameplay is still entertaining, regardless or the results!

Hey Ultrawide, I'm sure you've gotten this question but I only just found the creator of Seer has a yt and I've been wondering, is there any possibility of getting in contact with Psyonix to officially support the Seer bots in game?
Even if they don't show up in causal (which would be understandable since they're better than 99.9% of the player base) it'd be awesome to be able to play them in Exhibition matches for practice with shadow defending flicks and whatnot.
Hell, imagine if they allowed custom bot training where you could tell the Seer bot, "only go for flicks" or "only go for air dribble bumps" to practice specific defense, kinda like how you can choose AI options when training in a fighting game like SIFU.
I'm on console so I can't play them unless it's officially in the game :(

Can the bots be trained to specifically get better at certain things (i.e. working on resets) or does it just have to happen naturally through many generations of the bot?
I think he tweaked the reward function to incentivize reset. Thats why it goes for so many even though lots of the time it doesnt actually use the flip. So he may be able to do that for other things, but I would enjoy more to see what can learn by itself without human contamination.

Rocket League community is terrible! Seer are the only non-toxic players! Ban them all kids need to learn they can't just say whatever their emotions bring out. Some serious anger issues if you ever told some to find a rope or something close to that. I feel sorry for our gamers these days.
does the ai hae the same access to info as we do or does it get more? like does it know the exact coords of players behind the ball even if it doesn't seem them?
It gets them straight from the server. So the bot's name (I like to think) is a joke: Seer doesn't "see" like we do - it receives info in three dimensions whereas we see in two. That's why it can react to what's behind the ball.
He is also asking if it has more info then we do. Like does it read in memory how much each boost each player on the enemy team has as well
@theradomguy5581 we have all this into we just can't track it. U can watch people grab pads and do the maths to know exactly how much boost they have. So it's not really "more info"
@@mikeyb1239 Your not watching them 24/7 and you cannot say with 100% confidence how much boost some one has you can if they grab a 100 pad obviously but not in the middle of the field. Also what about seeing the players through the ball with there X,Y,Z Cords always being fed into it? That is either considered "More info" or just cheating take your pick

Seer really likes to do flip resets but not actually using the flip reset🤔
Flip resets are really hard to use. Just think about how many variants of flip resets u know and how many different ways there are to use the flip. It's very complicated
What did nwpo do?
My understanding is a guy was recording a discord call with nwpo and a bunch of others in it. The guy said some trash talk to nwpo and nwpo blew up and said racist stuff to the guy. Then he posted the call online. I don't believe nwpo was actually angry but he was trying to be edgy and it was super racist.

Here's an idea: 150 years of a bot playing against itself can't beat what collectively if you add up all the hours of human RL pros would be more than 150 hours. According to a.i. it's about 1.5 million hours human Pros have in RL. So this gave us enough time to discover the mechanics the bots are missing. I wonder what it would be like if the bots had 1.5 million hours? Would they chain flip resets? Would they demo?

fast aerial + airroll is so fast ... always in awe when pros keeping booming the ball and the other team almost casually reads and gets to the ball.
As a software engineer im a big fan of what your doing and beyond impressed. This needs to be how pros warm up before matches. Or some kind of series for a week or season to try to keep the bots out of the #1 spot.
I'm not sure if you can get into ranked matches, but if psyonix let you, you'd probably be able to get your data much faster, then tune it per rank, amd essentially this turns into the next gen bots for offline/practice matches and stuff.
I think psyonix want it out of ranked. But you're right I think they should make an exception I'd love to run into this bot and play it even if it meant a certain loss.
If they marketed it well, like used SEER as the like ad for more smurf detection and stuff... Call him like the cheater deputy.
It could litterally revive offline play too for practice if it was the new in game bots and tuned accordingly. There's a lot of opportunity here.
